It does have a pve element to it so there’s missions and world boss type stuff but always the PvP element to go with it. You die you lose everything you carrying

I compare extraction shooters with single player looter shooters except extraction shooters don’t really have the campaign or endgame aspect. Basically just repetitive farming

It’s good. More fun with a squad but entirely playable as a solo matchmaking with randoms. On highest difficulty raids you better have a min/max build and coordinated team. Outside of that and raids it’s entirely enjoyable with randoms

There is a dark zone on the map that when you enter it turns on PvP. Has its own content separate from the rest of the game so it’s entirely optional

Recommend watching gameplay on Twitch. But if you get the game for a price even if you just play the campaign stuff and put it down. It’s a lot of value with 40ish hours of content for under $20.

I think viewing it as merely a tool for players that can't aim limits one of the stronger skills a player can develop, prediction. Suppressing a window, or a street corner, or a bit of cover someone is about to peak out of should be viable while not making it so that every gunfight is a vaseline smear-off like in BF3.
