I mean no and yes, but the easiest way to balance snipers would be to give every class a perk like body armor or something that makes them take 95% of the sweet spot damage instead of all of it, BF4 and I think Bf1 had a similar mechanic, one was for up close and it also worked on shotguns, and the other was explicitly I think for support, or to drop the sweet spot damage to like 95 in general

for my AR I use the G36E and the Scar ( I know the Scar gets a lot of hate ) but It brings so much nostalgia for me. I want to level 50 my G36E and Scar one day.. Best AR imo. Others will disagree, people say the Scar has a slow fire rate, but when those bullets hit, you will feel them 😅

G36 is also my favorite, currently leveling it rn. Scar I also enjoy for its defensive capabilities. if you let them come to you its quite easy to laser them
