Once again reminded of how I am so often left out on the trend or the thing that’s popular… even when it comes to my favorite franchise of shooter. I know it’s not a hardware issue I’ve benchmarked and tested the drivers and everything on different games and everything works perfectly. Bf6 worked perfectly during the beta, can’t even load into a match now. Using EA store. Crazy to think I’ve waited over 3 months just for this to be the case… I was really looking forward to playing with my friends. Instead, they’re enjoying the game and I can only watch. My pc beats the minimum spec by 2 miles… just pure unfathomable unluckiness. At a time such as this, looking forward to the weekend or nightly escape of battlefield. Thanks EA. Thei issue that I have with this is it is now expected to be this way. It's like we are conditioned to be ok with buggy games at launch. I am not saying BF6 is a buggy mess but there are some really bad bugs that are just inexcusable. The bunny hop glitch with Med Paddles is one. Server lag andd hit reg are another.

What mentally disabled dev thought it would be a good idea to give engineer so many god damn av mines?! 90% of the time they don't effect tanks or heavy armor. The vast majority of the time all they do is make driving buggies utter ass. Play the objectives and don't get stressed about KD. You'll just be shooting yourself in the foot if you end up just hiding in the back or on the edges of every map sniping like most noobs gravitate towards. Get in the fray, cap objectives, and have fun. That's how you get used to the game. Also, play your role. If you pick support, heal and revive everyone. If you do engineer, make sure you're putting hurt on vehicles

Yeah that happens a good bit; it's the nature of how aggression and snowballing works in the game. Sometimes a team has bunch of camps or snipers and gives up any aggression (atrophies), other times a team might have a decent squad or two that push well and force. Maybe 2-3 our of 10 games for me are actually reasonably balanced/close in score, but that's IMO kinda expected since there's no real MMR and lots of people focus on their own personal challenges/missions rather than playing for the win specifically.

(nothing wrong with any of that IMO, just how things seem to play out - especially right now when you have a lot of people that don't necessarily know how to play well AND people that are trolling a bit trying to get their missions done for the week .. I was one of them, lol. )

Nah, IMO they're aiming for the balance between CoD (too small) and BF (too big) historically; I've played plenty of BF, ARMA, etc and big maps are cool for eye candy and major vehicles (and have their place), but MOST players are heavily infantry-focused, so the reality is most people don't like big maps as much as some BF vets do. I actually think they're not far off, although I do wish Breakthrough and similar were much bigger and less meat grinder. Outside of that, I really think the largest current maps are fine.

Yeah; I tend to think we'll start to get bigger maps with Portal, etc (e.g community made). The maps and assets are there, and with the SDK there's a good bit people can do - will just take some time for that to mature (and they need to make the browser more full-featured).

They took the running and driving sim out of it. Part of me misses it, part of me doesn't. Big vehicle maps were really only interesting to the people that preferred to play big vehicles; they rarely were particularly fun for infantry. I specifically remember several maps in BF4 being like that.

I think there's a place and need for 'big vehicle' maps, but I really don't think the majority of players enjoyed* those maps (until the majority of players left and the majority became the hardcore BF'ers).

edit: *enjoyed as much as maps like firestorm, etc that had vehicles but were more balanced size and play-area wise.

I haven't had issues with hitreg. "learnable recoil" sounds something like recoil patterns from CS, which isn't really part of Battlefield's identity. However, compensating for recoil is 100% doable, and if you're not firing full auto all the time, the "bloom" is totally manageable. I honestly am glad it makes people who before would just spray constantly and magdump, a bit of a challenge- that way cover and concealment are more of a necessity, and gunfights last longer and feel more tactics, not just who has the lower ping and faster reaction time.

For BF4, on the FLubber and AAA! servers it's just always Altai range and Silk road lmao, but it's always full due to them having usually hardcore big map lovers. Servers like TBG and the bz#6 ones tend to like locker, pearl, guilin, metro a lot more so yeah I do agree, I think they've done a good job so far by trying to make the maps small enough and with enough open area to cater to fast infantry and vehicle players. I know how Battlefield works. I top the scoreboard and abuse medic for SPM while racking up kills and capping/defending. It's always been the cheese in Battlefield. This game plays the same way. They just added bloom so the bads and controller kids stand a chance in gunfights

Not in the way it's implemented here. Bloom in past Battlefield games was represented as bullet spread and was negated by attachments. This is a straight up mechanic that is only negated by burst/tap firing and purposely handicapping your DPS. And it's overtuned to the max.

lock on weapons are like javelins and stingers, to laser designate something, you use the PLD or the laser designator on a vehicle, hold M1 or whatever controller button to mark it. anyone in the game with a lock on capable launcher or vehicle weapons (laser guided missle or TOW rocket) can lock on anywhere on the map and you will get score and points for them hitting it

It's still indirectly mitigated by your attachments because they provide improvements that allow you to fire longer bursts, ADS faster, etc. I feel like it's the same thing, just with a different lens.

That said, I genuinely (not just trying to be contrarian) can't think of any cases over this past weekend where I've lost a fight and been able to attribute it directly to bloom. Latency notwithstanding, if I'm in the effective range for a weapon and I aim center mass (or head), I'm not losing because of bloom - I'm losing because of my own deficiencies.

I really don't think bloom is a big deal here. Maybe its worse on low resolutions or gfx settings? idk.

I never said I didn't notice the bloom, I was saying it's effect on whether or not I was winning the fight (or on my performance and general) wasn't particularly notable. I have yet (as of this weekend) to have lost a fight and thought ot myself "Wow, it was the bloom! My aim was perfect, my positioning was perfect, I shot first, my latency is good - I only lost because of the bloom!"

I can't think of any cases where the bloom lost me the fight, basically. But yes, I do notice it and it doesn't bother me 🤷‍♂️

yeah you could play however you wanted to, only Requirement is that it's for that class/weapon category... getting rewarded for playing how you wanted and unlocked majority of weapons was the BEST. and then you had the wacky DLC challenges like sniping on top of Firestorm or playing the now dead DLC modes like chainlink and Air Superiority in BF4
