Because instead of being locked to a single weapon class besides the "all-class" guns, you're now able to enjoy your weapon skins regardless of what soldier class you play. If you prefer to only play Assault, then you're only going to want skins for ARs, shotguns, etc. as opposed to wanting skins for every weapon from every weapon class that you like.
