If you contrast that against the 2042 beta where players were hoping it was a really out of date branch and that all the bugs in the beta were already fixed. (They weren't fixed on day 1)

Good visibility is done through much more subtle methods. Slight saturation on characters vs a less saturated backrgound, small lighting tricks to make a character stand out, less clutter on maps to better distinguish level from player.
