Would make for interesting gameplay after a while, with reduced visibility. I also would really like night maps/modes to play on, though realizing that it's not everyone's cup of tea, I'd put them as a toggle for participating in or a separate playlist.

They're amazing for communities and the consumer, but they're essentially financial blackholes for the developers. All that in mind though, I do think that DICE could gain a lot from full mod support, letting players experiment with new ideas for the Battlefield series and then recruiting the creators into the company to work on new games. Sort of like Bohemia Interactive did/does with Arma games.
