What if in addition to the bonuses you get for using a class’s signature weapon, there were penalties to using other categories of weapons (poorer handling, slower reload, etc.), but using different field specs would change the signature weapon of the class and grant different bonuses depending on the field spec used? Then you could not only get an idea of someone’s class based on what gun they’re using, but their specific field spec as well.
It’s probably a dumb idea, but I wanted to post it.
