My understanding of Portal 2 is that we can't create our own maps like a Map Creator but only Edit them (Unless they gave us a blank map for Portal) and only be able to use the assets the game gives us. Tho based off of the things I was able to spot in the PC trailer which featured Portal, I think we will be able to create Single Player Campaign Missions, Stealth Missions, CO-OP Experience, Puzzle Games, etc in Portal

i've seen that happen in tf2, it also has matchmaking and custom servers. initially it had only custom servers and quickplay, that matched you to those servers, but when they launched proper matchmaking all the servers that offer similar to vanilla experience died - only goofy shit survived, and literally like 1-2 community servers per region, because they already had established long running communities

i was hosting a server at that time and it felt like shadowban, rolling out of matchmaking killed all of the traffic

ok I'm gonna get hate for this but I need to know the appeal of mortars

playing with them involves sitting in one spot and slightly adjusting angles until you get a hit only for the people you're shelling to reposition 2 seconds later

playing against them is just randomly getting bombs dropped on your head out of nowhere because some guy thats nowhere near you either got lucky or is being fed info from someone you probably can't even see

it feels like its no more fun or interesting then sitting in the back sniping

because of universal soldier aiming being the defacto best setting input this means your ADS and non ADS DPI are tied 1:1, now, with 32:9 this means your margin for error for overshooting is extremely narrow, what an ideal situation for that is a decoupled ADS and non ADS setup, so to compensate you need a extremely tight (low) DPI to avoid overengaging and missing a target, which means you basically throw away the advantage of a massive view in hipfire mode, or B if you run decoupled, you're in a worse situation than those with USA on, hope that makes sense

it's fine at 21:9 since the view isn't absurdly huge but 32:9 is a diff story

what you could maybe do is have differing sens values with USA off for 32:9 to get around this but that sounds like a huge learning curve (and because vehicles have their own turning rates too, you'd need to do that for those aswell)
