You gotta have enough BF players in the playtest to make sure your game appeals to the core audience, but also sprinkle in some others to get different perspectives. If it's weighted too far to one side or the other, it's just not gonna work.

Though I would argue there should be a few playtests with only BF veterans to really nail the feel they're going for (BFBC2, BF3, BF4)

As that's the stated goal, you need players who are intimately familiar with those games to be able to bring up anything that feels off

With this playtest tho I bet they'll be bringing in people who play other BRs frequently as well as some BF vets, probably selecting those who are both preferentially

Cuz then you're getting people who both play BF and also BRs and you can get feedback on what they want from a BF-styled BR

large scale wise of bf becoming good i mean they already had enough feedback over years from previous games . ..... people liked levelution , people liked bf1 building mechanics , people liked that they did research fully and payed attention to detail on modern war assets , also futurly showcasing military projects that are still in development. i mean the fact that its semi like arma but sorta cod was a really good balance , the class system worked . map designs were getting better over time and kinda wish they brought back more of their older maps , lets not forget how people enjoyed Battlefield 2142. the weather system in 2042 was very decent except people expected more like earthquakes and more natural disasters like volcanic eruptions and such

Yeah that’s completely valid - i reckon that the franchise is better positioned to listen to feedback than any time in the past. Also - this is why we’ve been invited too, to give the feedback we can as passionate players. Honestly, i see this being a success IF they listen and keep the community engaged from day one. Multiplayer won’t go away - this is another mode appealing to a HUGE market. Firestorm was developed by a completely different team as a concept woth no updates, no content.. no attention. That’s why it never got traction. Also - it was released at a time where warzone was thriving, now, warzone is dead and people want something new like BF BR

People are going to play the mode they want at the end of the day. It’s not going to take away from either side of the game. Also I don’t think BR is dropping on release either. Everyone will have time to enjoy multiplayer and can decide if they want to give BR a chance or stick with the classic experience. Others will strictly only play BR

I hear you - but saying doesn’t “need” what does that mean? It depends on the perspective - from EA, it’s creating a fun experience to generate revenue. BR represents a massive market for them, so, there definitely is a point. From a players perspective, it’s a valid question you asked. However, you will still have Multiplayer / classic available. Other players will prefer BR so it caters to both. It’s a win / win

Yeah sure - perhaps most of their revenue / income comes from those specific games. However, each game they release EA has set a target for Sales / income. So, if they say for BF for example, they expect 1 billion and they only hit 600 million, that’s a failure. Each game has unique targets, so we can’t say just because “these games deliver the most money” or majority, then we ignore another game we release that isn’t going well and keep it online purely because it’s enjoyable
