So I got into labs when they had the weekend test months ago. My Internet was down so I didn't get to play. I downloaded it later and it never let me play and I never got anymore invotes or test dates on my calender. I boot it up almost everyday to see if it will let me play and it did a few days ago. Got to play on mirak a few rounds before it seemingly went offline or booted me I'm not sure which. I just get an error about the connection when I boot it up now.

I wasn’t even supposed to have access to Labs, but it stayed with me from the stress test because they can’t revoke access from a PS5 client. Technically, I could’ve participated in all the Labs sessions, but I didn’t know when they started, since I’m not considered a full participant in their eyes, so I don’t get any invites. The funniest part is that I actually got a survey asking what I thought about the new maps from the latest Labs session, even though I never received an invite for it.

Recon needs something to make them more enjoyable/viable personally. With the removal of the spawn beacon (I see why), most people will just gravitate to the already populated Assault class.

Spawn beacon should stay on recon, it helped enabled infiltrator recon strategies like in 2042(and the beta of 6) instead of pigeonholing the class into pseudo-useful Sniper Bros..

Assault is supposed to be the active frontline supported by infiltrators giving them a position and healers keeping them alive. The entire official shtick is them being the vanguard.

Remember in BF2, we had those maps where even main spawns/airfields were cappable? Or other strategic locations that granted a tank or helo spawn?
It wouldn't give the opposite team extra vehicles - nothing would spawn for them. But it incentivized the original team to maintain control of those points, or they would lose vital hardware.

Meh I started in 1942, got my first colonoscopy this year. BF2 didn't have capable mains but you could enter them. My clan and I beat the PoE dev team in a TWL match without our team having a single death, we trapped them in their base and spawn camped them the entire round. .....they then added the "dome of death" that prevented enemies from killing you in your main base. ....and the official games followed their lead they and made it so you couldn't enter the main base.

I play Recon quite religiously and losing the spawn beacon is definitely a setback, but I don't see it as the end of the world.

Will it significantly hamper my ability to contribute to the team? Yes.
Will it significantly hamper John Camper from camping in his unreachable spot? Also yes.

I find it quite ridiculous to remove the spawn beacon from Recon since it's sort of semi-emulating a recce pull "tactic" (spooky milsim speak, ik), I'd rather they did something to promote the forward deployment of the spawn beacons. Proximity to enemy held objective being a reasonable example (i.e. more points for having the spawn beacon closer to an enemy objective).

I do find it difficult to see myself enjoying the class as much, as my enjoyment in-game is largely based on the ability to personally contribute to the overall goal, that being the total destruction of my enemy's will and ability to resist winning of the match.

But, I suspect I am much more in the minority than majority in that regard.

Assault, medic and engineer seem really nicely balanced but it would be nice to enhance the recon a bit. It's configured to be a spotter first so spec ops will be a nice to have.

It's hard to balance a class that coule be far from the fight and on the frontline. I would have preferred signatures weapons / passives related to the subclass tbh. It would have helped the balance a lot

Recon, in my opinion as a certified sneaky guy, should get something like immunity to motion sensors generally (even when sprinting) or some form of EW gadget, provided DICE are dead-set on not giving the spawn beacon back.

• LMGs held by support aim faster -> used mostly by supports
• Snipers held by the recon have the hidden reflect (accessory) by default -> used mostly by snipers
• SMG passive is fine for engineers
• AR passive is fine for assault

If you want to push further signature weapons to subclass :

• Assault sp1: same as assault
• Assault sp2: free accessory sub-tube
• Support 1 : bonus on carabine
• Support 2 : bonus at aiming with lmg
• Engineer 1 : same as engineer
• Engineer 2 : shotgun reloads faster (goal is to protect / repair tanks)
• Recon 1 : Hold your breath longer or small reflect by default
• Recon 2 : free silencer or no downside using a silencer

Recon is a bit of a problem child because they have such varied opinions among the community of what they should do. Some advocate the long-range sniping stuff, some the close-range sneaky flanking.

I too find the Recon problem interesting. Because the other classes are so clear in their role but they want Recon to be two totally contradicting things. I exclusively play Recon but I never use a sniper rifle. Spawn beacon is essential for me. If they remove the passively regenerating C4 there is no reason to play Recon anymore.

I'm still very reluctant to go down that rabbit hole. Yes, QD suppressors exist, but they're still pretty rarely swapped on/off during actual operations. Usually reserved for SF people who go out, shooty-bang-bang for 30-90 minutes or so, then go back and clean that shit thoroughly.

Suppressor costs, as you might deduce from my name, is something I have a personal interest in so my opinion is probably slightly biased. I didn't find them excessively high cost, but definitely at the higher end of the acceptable spectrum.

In previous games they explicitly said it increased damage dropoff but in 6 there is no mention of it. I'm using it either way, I just don't see the point in hiding stats.

Yeah, I did find it confusing to find out what exactly the suppressor did, probably due to their erratic history of behavior in previous titles. In fact I am still not entirely sure. I think in the Beta at least they just had the listed changes and no hidden modifiers. I'm very unsure as to whether they actually hid you from the minimap at all times or only beyond a certain distance though.

I didn't notice much difference in trajectory when performing very basic comparisons between suppressed and unsuppressed, which I like and hope is kept. But I would like to have some method of getting rid of the bullet tracers.

2042's ammunition choices were a good thing. I wish they brought back more of that. Whether to use subsonic was a real decision in that game.

I'd just have a "Tracerless" ammunition type in BF6 that's identical to regular ammo but, of course, lacks the tracer. Some weapons (such as the SCAR SC in .300 BLK) are already subsonic so I don't see much purpose in having a separate subsonic type of ammunition for all weapons.

I assume you’re playing on console, and the only invite you received was for the stress test at the end of May. If that’s the case, then you’re not considered a full member of the Labs program, which is why you don’t get the usual updates. The reason you still have access is that they can’t revoke it once a console key has been activated. So, even though you can still join the sessions, you don’t know when they start since you don’t get the announcements.

The problem with 2042 was partly about map sizes, but mostly about the endless open fields and concrete boxes. I don’t think the current maps are necessarily a lesson learned from past mistakes, but rather the developers’ vision—and in particular Zampella’s, since maps like this are his element and something he can execute well. It’s also possible they want to make everything more dynamic, which is why they’re removing large, meaningless empty spaces. As for vehicles, I think there’s still enough room with this approach.

I agree, Squad Team-Deathmatch was a lot of fun in the beta. I think cod like games would be cool too, like domination and king of the hill, but even as an old timer who originated from Bad Company 2, 👴 I'd love DICE to try giving us these small game modes in a different format. A more lonewolf format. I du love Battlefield for it's squad team-play, but I would also like to go lonewolf style sometime. That's where domination and king of the hill could come in, but I don't feel like squad team-play fits these small modes.

My suggestion would be to stick with locked weapons per class in all squad team-play modes, then...🥁 make the smaller modes like (team)deathmatch, king of the hill and domination lonewolf style. I'm talking open class ssytem, where you choose whatever weapon you want, whatever gadget you want, and of no squads. Yes it fits better in COD, but sometimes squad team-play just feels more forced and not fun in said gamemodes

Might be a controversial take, but I would not be mad if they tried this. I just feel like classes feels forced without a squad, and squads feels forced on onjective based game modes below (16vs16) 32 playrs. The only exeption for this in my mind is the non objective based small modes like Squad Deathmatch. I liked that a lot.

Damn guys, they really need to fix the fucking Javelin. I just climbed to the highest point on Firestorm and baseraped a bradley rolling out with two shots. It didn’t even help that his buddy was trying to repair it between my shots. This game needs active protection or reduced RPG damage, because tanks don’t survive here unless they’ve got three engineers running after them

Taking off 60 percent of a vehicle’s HP with a homing weapon is kind of overpowered, while at the same time a tank doesn’t even have splash damage.

In Labs absolutely no one repairs you, even if you’re the only tank on the team. In the beta you’d have like 10 people running behind you and repair, but here you can drive around in a burning tank for several minutes and nobody cares. I mean, I get it, you’re not going to get a skin for doing it, but you’re playing Breakthrough where you only have one tank — come on, at least someone should

Honestly, I'm not surprised that we got some weird balance decisions in the beta, because I feel like these testers don’t give a damn at all.Basically, you could see it in how they tested the Cairo on the beta, half the server was messing around on the rooftops and completely broke the map.
