They was everywhere .. u cant cap b, c and even A .. tank was claped by C4 and stuff .. it was just anoying to play.
would be a pretty easy win in Rush, smoke and arm its over unless they jump down in which case kill them, breakthrough should be the same because flag progress usually doesn't work off ground level
But no one wants to run smoke even without roof campers
It is not the full team on the roof though, it is just that you get a squad on the roof in a permanent undislodgable flank position

-shrugs- generally if they can shoot you and there aren't dozens of them you can shoot back, 2-3 headshots with the nvo and its over, or double tap with the svk would be my go to if I was dedicated
the thing is even if you kill them that doesn't dislodge them which is the whole thing, they just spawn beacon in a location that cannot be destroyed from the ground

Is it just me, or does RPG have 0 AOE damage? Shoot the rocket into a group of 8 people and only 1-2 will die, with luck xD š
Something really wrong going on with their BT algorithms, 20 matches only 3 attack
It's not an HE grenade so it has little splash damage by design
yea i remeber they tuned down the v2 rocket on bfv to only alow so many kills per blast becuase you could wipe a entire team out
I wonāt play BT if this persists, I donāt think many will either since BT is clearly designed for attackers to win, why even buff attackers when attackers has entire map at their disposal while defenders has a small area to play + no vehicles?
RPG has a little, but they very activly made it pretty bad against infantry. I assume to try and avoid RPG spam
Its true that you can abuse it massively but I think RPG should have a bit more intensity if BF6 relies on realism in some places

Not really, a PG-7VL which it looks like we are shooting should have a lethal blast radius of at least 2 meters, potentially as high as 5 meters.
At least not solo, but again whole game feels like you need stacks to be able to play in the first place
Never had a good solo experience in BF6
There are tons of ways to deal with the roof, its annyoing sure but its not an auto win for people that do it, smoke the point, smoke their roof, thermo their roof, svk them, or just AR then if you have good aim even if they respawn at a beacon they aren't gonna do much, generally all the ones I deal with are awful players anyway couldn't hit a snipe on me to save their lives, I am sure there is the occasional actually good player up there but meh

I looked it up and you're right. I guess it's just for balance then. I do agree with them though that a projectile that can cross the map very quickly probably shouldn't be lethal if it's in someone's general area.
I get why they did it, I am not fully convinced it is the right choice but I get it
its always about balance, I am sure there will be anti infantry launchers that don't do much against armor too

I just think about Battlebit where the RPG felt so good, esspecially as a counter sniping/counter entrenched enemy tool. But BF6's weaker RPG and weaker destruction mean it can't serve that role
To be fair the rpg is stupid accurate, you can counter snipe with it pretty easy just aim at the god awful scope flare and fire most snipers dont duck lol
anything can counter a sniper with a few upgrades even smgs
Also I'd like to more consistently be able to shoot support deployed cover walls and kill the guy behind the wall, it works sometimes, but it feels like it should work more

All the weapons in this game become perfect lasers if you put them in semi-automatic fire mode with the match trigger.
I mean semi automatic is not really the use for most of the weapons though
I agree, I'm just saying that beyond a certain distance it is almost universally more effective to swap fire modes and click like crazy. I'm not good at FPS games and I win most firefights this way.

I haven't been in any pre-beta sessions, so I don't know what Recon has beyond the beacon and the C4 but if it's a weak selection I might have to change classes for the first time in 15 years.

It should only effect snipers then, not other weapon types. MP7 would be ridiculously OP due to BTK, it's 7-8 BTK which would make opponent's aim impossible to control

Id like to also add having the full auto weapons in single fire felt useless so the trigger upgrade felt like it was void, you can easily full auto at far distances or tap and everyone is going to spray you anyway

Depends on the weapon. The B36 is inaccurate at range even when bursting. I got wayyy more kills in semi-auto

The g36 assault rifle? I found that to be one of the more accurate ones to use, atleast with grips and a long barrel and suppressor/muzzle break

there's a bug where if you slide on uneven terrain, the game still thinks you're sliding and being ADS you'll have the insane spread still.
you'll have to slide on even terrain to correct it again. and be mindful not to spam slide all the time, at least for this beta.

I've still had a lot of fun, and am leaving the beta more positive than I started 2 weeks ago.
But the game does have things that bother me, the playlists and matchmaking being by far the worst aspects of the game. I am so tired of just playing the same map on the same side again and again
I was not aware of that bug, but what I'm describing is still true in the firing range. B36 in semi-automatic mode with Match Trigger attachment has zero bullet spread no matter how fast I click.

It's completely revolutionary in-game. Probably too good. I questioned why the attachment existed and why it would be 15 points but I have convinced all my friends to stop bursting and starting using semi-auto and it's a revelation.
Whether that's a problem for balance is not up to me, but it's interesting at least.
locked mode and unlocked play the same in my experiece, and the new map is really good if you learn how to play it, too many people play it as rush to C and throw yourself into a meat grinder, the map has so much space around its outer zones with great sight lines to hold and stuff if you take your time and slow down, let the adhd zoomer players come to you.
bursting is still gonna win except at extreme extreme ranges as long as you can control yourself well, though yeah for the average person they might win more on semi just for ease of use

I don't hate Empire State, I don't love it either but the map is in the "fine" category
I play on lock only and no lag for me game is fast ( yeah is not bf2 ) but if u watch vidƩo on bf3 on grand bazar or mƩtro its the same its so fast

really? dunno how, if you even get a crosshair near a person 50 meters or under you get a giant dorito for yourself to see them, even through smoke sometimes
if anything visibility is too high because of the crappy self spotting

Maybe disable some grainy or filter settings or disable blurs
everything is disabled or at lowest settings, it aint my first rodeo
lowest setting isn't necessairy going to increase visiblity, if anything it might do the opposite, quit listening to stupid youtubers that say everything low even when certain settings cost no fps

No its a proven fact that certain settings have no cost, Textures cost vram not fps, mesh quality doesn't drop any fps, they only actual settings in this game that effect fps are volumetrics, sun shadow quality, global illumination, and screen space reflections
all low vs all ultra is barely a 30 fps differnce regardless of what you do at 4k. and its all from those settings I mentioned
some settings are dependant on the features of the gpu and components, a setting on one computer could be free where another computer it's not
sort of the downside of PC gaming is almost everybody's computer is different

People complaining about the "overly big" scope glint when they're too dumb to realize the "big rainbowy glint" means you're in sweet spot range

and its only upper chest and head not full body
if you are going to rely on body shots you are better off with the SVK its 2 tap to the body at all ranges and fires as fast as you can hit the trigger basically, you can have a second bullet in the air before the first hits so there is no reaction time possible

as long as your cap is over there yeah, if not you can still try to hold it if you are good thats what results in lik 800 0 matches

Support crate's deploy speed and equipment recharge rate doesn't match with the pace of the game tbh, wanting players to sit still in a supply crate for 20 seconds in order to get 1 grenade is awful and makes you a sitting duck, supply crates should work like 2042's supply crates imo, we shouldn't need to wait on top of it for 20 seconds, we should be able to move around, especially annoying when you can reset the timer. Supply crate deploy speed should also be faster imo. It's a bit slow.

I love killing but I usually do it around 2-3 points to maximize its effectiveness if I can, depends how a game goes
Holding C is the key in Empire State since C can rotate to everywhere, if you lose C you'll lose the match, also somehow safer than areas like D or A despite being a fishbowl which is historically an awful area style to hold in BF games

Controlling OBJs means controlling the areas around the OBJs too. There are a lot of places on Empire you need to control if you want to have the sites
takes too long for gl ammo, its good 30 seconds and then someone moves it or its gone just before u get one and now u have to start from 0

Hey, I don't know if anyone can help me but for the challenges with the one where you have to repair 3,000 damage it won't count any of the repairing I'm doing now even though I'm already at 2 and 1/2 thousand
should count, maybe someone else is beating you to the repair or something
I know it is repairing because I'm healing the tanks. It's just not counting it in the challenge
That's because the map is poorly designed. As I said there's a lot of "not used" spaces which makes it a vicious cycle because you wouldn't help the team going there so none does

I found a fix someone else had the same problem and they just switched from one class to another and used their ability then switched back and it worked

Greandes and GLs recharge at a very slow pace, meanwhile recon can passively regen C4 
I mean C4 regen I am pretty sure is a bug, since it is the only slotable gadget that does it
It's consistent so I doubt about that, 4 C4s are enough to destroy a tank too, pretty sure most recon gadgets has passive regen, I saw some drone gameplay from Labs which also had a regen, makes it unfun to play as assault when you can just use recon with an AR and still have a good explosive power
I mean it is not consistent though which why it feels like a bug. All class gadgets (the X button ones) regenerate, but none of the slottable ones does EXCEPT C4. It doesn't follow the same rules. And no not all recon gadgets do, sapwn beacon absolutly does not. It can't even be refilled from an ammo crate unles you haven't placed one yet (which is also weird)
That said, Assault is in fact just a worse class than Recon atm I agree. It is part of why they are moving the spawn beacon to it.

I noticed a glitch with the map one time and with my quest
I repaired health as an engineer multiple times in multiple matches but my progress for the challenge wouldn't move

I guess I can explain the map glitch. It was on Liberation Peak(I believe) and I fell under the map for a second while I was sprinting to an objective

As a BF2 veteran with 33 hrs in open beta - the game still needs more BF and less CoD. Everyone is talking about maps and I agree. I don't understand 24v24 Breakthrough without vehicles. I don't understand Empire State, that's just CoD Map which plays horribly. There are too many game modes. I would make "CoD Playlist" (or you called it CQC) that would cycle Dominion, KOTH and Rush. Then just remove them from the other playlists and focus on BF game modes. I believe if you have numbers on those modes, they will be high, but that's only because people wanted to do achievements. I also think that the game needs a commander. I believe plenty of people would cooperate, but they have no way how to do that. If there was a simple way how to assign one squad to the tank (driver, shooter, 2 engs), the game experience would improve immensely, the same goes for another squad getting heli + jet. Then just spread the other squads among objectives and assign attack/defend. That's it, nothing complicated. Coop game needs coop mechanics. Also highlight how many of each class the team has. With random people defending a tank push we always either had too many engineers being unable to repel infantry or too little and the tank was owning us. Otherwise, I think the game is solid. It's a good compromise between hardcore mil-sims such and arcade shooters. Yeah... and balance shotguns.. but I think it is a map issue, not a weapon issue. Except the exploit with sniping slugs. I also don't understand some of the weapon upgrades. Why does the bolt-action sniper rifle have 2 optics and bazillion red dots? Why does the shotgun have x4 scope?! There are many more little things I would like to see fixed, but I don't want this to be and essay. Cheers and keep shooting. ā¤ļø EDIT: One more thing - spawns. Which ties to map design. I think that BF is about knowing where the frontline is. By that I don't want to remove flanking, but on some maps the spawns are horrible. You get killed in 3 seconds.

You cannot play sniper class with an LMG...
100% agree. Currently, some of the game modes and weapon performance feel very COD like. An entire magazine or the best part of it, to get a kill is diabolical. It needs to be tailored to a more 'realistic' or 'mature' audience, or at least find the balance between the fast paced COD style and veteran BF2 experience.

Yeah, og BF2 had locked weapons per class per faction. I kinda liked that, but its too oldschool for modern game with dozens of guns.
I doubt that anyone relevant reads this, but hey, I did my part. 
Breakthrough has vehicles though just not on Empire its an Infantry map, its also possibly the best Infantry map I have ever played AFTER I learned it, without map knowledge its an aboslute cluster fuck and you have no idea what is going on and I geniunely think people play it once or twice then give up on it and never touch it again and thats a huge mistake with that map.
We need the server browser to come back. Also active admins are desperately needed.
Otherwise the game will be plagued with cheaters and glitchers
Loved both weekends, had some great matches. But i agree with most people here, the challenges to unlock weapons like BF3 was great, we all hope that there will be more classic maps like fire storm. We prefer ALL BF3 & BF4 maps š¤£
And hope there will be more classic stuff with new gameplay. I had alot of difficulty binding the keys on console. Couldn't find the right BF3/4 helicopter settings, i used to play legacy/alternate, but it wasn't working. I couldn't find the right way to turn the helicopter.

i dont like it much, but i dont hate it either i think it has a higher skill celling as a map vs the other maps well have to see more of the other infantry maps to really compare it
You just have to avoid the C meat grinder, the D to E side is brilliant and finding the tennis court above the tunnel on E and how it connected to a flank on the B side HQ was the highlight of my time with the map, every time i played it, which was probably 30 times, I found a new area or route, the only part that I question is the jungle gazeebo side lots of camping in there
I disagree. 24v24 with first objective being one capture point is just bad map design. Especially with people running around spawn killing.
I am talking conquest exclusively, but I had no issue on breaktrhough I won that point every single time with smokes and getting in the hole by the bus

Ok, I dont thing I have played conquest at Empire at all thinking about it. The issue with BT on Empire wasnt that it was hard, but it was chaotic and one team got stomped everytime, regardless of attack or defend.
Fair, I only ran it for the challenge and to help a friend with a challenge didn't think much of it since matches were like 10 minutes tops lol
Question i never played bf before also no cod or other fps games but for mee the game looks super nice what does it make u feel this game is not what bf stand for cus i honestly have no clue what bf dna is but am really hyped for this game tbh. @past thistle

Just am curious to u opinion about this as long time bf veteran i am just overjoyed by the nice design of the game and have no references to put them into perspective š
BF is large maps, vehicles, tactical movement, covering angles and playing roles. CoD is small maps, infantry only, running around, rushing, bunny hopping, respawn killing... and I say that as someone who played ranked CoD for like a year.
Also, you almost never "defend" in CoD as charging is always beneficial.
I see but how u would say this game is if they released the bigger maps will it be good or has the same issues ? Cus i like game also could be cus i like genre and never played any fps game before
depends on the game mode, but yeah... thats unfortunately how most play it nowadays, especially since maps keep getting smaller and speed faster, used to on domination you'd defend the mid point a lot more and not flip spawns but alas that kind of CoD is kind of gone

Liberation peak was the only BF map imho... with its issues ofc, but it was... CoD noobs call it sniper map, but then failed to capture anything with their 20 snipers
It was easily the worst map in the beta because of its bugs and issues plus the mountain goat epidemic
E was severly poorly designed there is litereally no cover from snipers on that entire point really

Most of the time the map was just full of flashbangs from over half the enemy team sniper aiming at you 24/7
The only actually good part of that map was the B and D side and partially C if you played ring around the mountain to those 3 points
the A and F points basically never saw action unless someone tried to back cap you which was rare. I am not saying its an outright awful map, but it definitely needs the most work of the 4 to be good even without the bugs

Btw smokes are op and I love it.
First point on breakthrough is an abomination though, teams are never organized enough to smoke and push that with the sniper and tank cover defenders get

Iām surprised the beta hasnāt ended yet
The foundation of the beta was very solid, but several things really need to be improved before release. Performance is one of the biggest issues: with my 3060 Ti and Ryzen 7 5700X I was only getting around 60ā70 FPS in smaller modes like King of the Hill, while the All-Out Warfare playlist was basically unplayable for me with just 40ā50 FPS in Conquest or Breakthrough.
Squad Deathmatch also feels very poorly balanced. Enemies often spawn directly behind you, and the result is pure chaos where everyone just gets kills by shooting someone in the back, only to die the exact same way themselves.
The audio must also be improved. Footsteps are practically non-existent, which is very disappointing considering how amazing audio design used to be in past Battlefield titles.
Finally, either the TTK or the movement needs to be adjusted. The current combination of extremely fast TTK/TTD and movement that punishes aggressive plays makes it nearly impossible to push. Campers consistently win gunfights, which slows the game down and makes it boring with almost no skill expression. Many people might not like it, but the game absolutely needs either longer TTK or improved movement to create a proper skill gap and keep it fun in the long run.
The ttk is perfect itās realistic even the devs said it and I agree
games performance was amazing imo, your cpu is just getting a bit aged, this game eats cpu and keeps asking for more, even my 9800x3d was my bottleneck at 4k, very slightly mind you, but it was the bottleneck
The movement needs some fixing
in what way? only issues I noticed was occasionally buggy mantleing of certain terrain
Idk if itās my settings or what Ik itās not sensitivity because I alr fixed that the movement in the game itself isnāt the best but I still like it

They need to focus on rush mode. The reason bad company 2 was the greatest game ever made was because of the rush mode. The maps need to change in a way that requires a different strategy from sector to sector.
The maps in the city are the exact same play the whole game. It gets old. Bad company had maps where you had to invade an island via black hawks. Next sector was leave the island and attack a beach with boats. Next sector was a push up a mountain. That's what people will love.
The cities are also barely destructible. Not even close to bad company

I mean they just need to not try and force all mode on all maps for that. BC2 was good because maps were designed for Rush. If they just designed some actual Rush maps the mode would be great again :P, instead of just shoving MCOMs onto conquest maps
cities have never been fully destructable, only houses have been which is the case here as well as can be seen on point b and d of liberation, the reason why most folks thing everything is destructable in BC2 is because thats the only kind of building that really existed in BC2, there were no dense urban cities in BC2
I mean even comparing that BC2 still in generally hade more destruction per building. There were lots of walls in BF6 that felt like should be able to knock down that I couldn't

You can completely level the stand alone buildings in BF6 just like BC2. Interior walls yeah some can't be obviously for gameplay reasons, its just not an issue you saw in BC2 because BC2 didn't have those types of enviroments

most of them can be, I think only a couple 2-3 stories ones might have a wall or 2 that can't be to keep cover on the lower side, but I know several on D point and be leveled

I suppose I didn't spend the match trying to C4 them apart, but I know I never saw them get leveled and they took a lot of tank fire
the single story ones can for sure be leveled, just leaves a rubble pile

is it possible to make it that when we pick up other people kits we only get the weapons and not the gadgets? I was goofing around on the last 2 days killing only using rpg and knife (sorry for all the people that got headshot with an rpg :D) and at some point i found a support kit, took it, dropped a supply bag, then re-picked my engineer kit and i had a ton of rpg ammo at my disposal.
Another cool thing i noticed that may hint to future recon class stuff is some of the voice lines specifically for calling in your recon drone, i noticed two lines being a call in for smoke cover and one line suggesting an explosive or morter/artillery barrage when using the uav ability. Would be awesome to see those kinds of call ins introduced to the full release

felt like scopes where zooming less then there magnification was saying. And also after playing with DMR this last weekend the was like some kind of hidden spread with some scopes. Tested 3x and up and same distance to target, scope zero at the same distance and hitting center mass and it was very inconsistent while using the 5x and 6x scope. Like some kind of invisible spread on the shots that was much higher.

I was using empty servers back in the BF3 & BF4 days to setup controls, learn the basics to fly and then master the flying on every single map. So I agree it would help a lot, while it should be connected to real maps and eventually allow friends to join so the training can be done in a way to also help the pilot learn how to get out of LOS of stingrs etc.
That will come with the full release. Iām confident the developers have it in hand. Think of how you play poker, you donāt show your full hand straight away.

I think they gave quite a bit in the beta. Consider that if they give you a bit of everything or too much in the beta then the full release could end up being a bit of a damp squib and non of us want that.

Open Beta FEEDBACK
Open beta of Battlefield 6 is behind us and I have many thoughts about it. Some things I didnāt like, but most of them just need adjustments.
First of all, the new Battlefield is on a good path to becoming a great game. But will it get there? In its current state, no.
The fights are extremely chaotic, bullets are flying from every possible direction. I believe the main reason is map design. BF4, BF1 and BF5 had this handled much better. In those games, the entire server did not cluster into one tiny spot, creating instant chaos. In BF6 it often happens that you spawn and immediately die. Or you move a few meters and an enemy spawns right behind you and kills you.
This also connects with another problem ā the class balance and point system. Dying is so frequent partly because there are not enough supports. Most players chose assault or recon. I would motivate people to also play support or engineer, as they are crucial for team play.
My idea: Assault should get the most points for killing enemies. Support should get fewer points for kills but more for revives, healing, resupplying and supporting teammates. Everyone wants to be high on the scoreboard, so points should reward each class for doing what it is meant to do. On top of that, at the end of each game, besides TOP SQUAD or TOP PLAYER, you could also show TOP MEDIC, TOP ASSAULT, TOP RECON, etc. This would encourage team play and reward people for their role. Right now it feels like pure run-and-shoot gameplay, leading to chaos and lack of cooperation.
Another issue is the RECON class. Playing as a sniper is fun for many players, but here I feel like I just turn into an assault with a sniper rifle, running around like everyone else.
One of the best maps ever in the series was from BF1 ā the alpine valley map. There, a sniper actually made sense. You had places to hide, lay down and wait for targets at long distances. Thatās what I love about sniping ā hitting someone from 200m away, not 50m. In BF6, snipers donāt really have a place. There are no rooftops (doors are locked), which reduces verticality. If players could go to rooftops, it would expand the map and reduce overcrowding. And if someone complains about getting shot from a rooftop? Then blow the building with C4 or drive a tank through it ā thatās what makes destruction mechanics fun and strategic, not just visual.
Also, the scope glints. Right now it feels like you mounted a stadium floodlight to your rifle. Please reduce the glint or make it more realistic ā dependent on sun angle, or add unlockable covers, ghillie optics, etc. Snipers shouldnāt be turned into moving targets by default. Give them a chance to play at long distances.
Another thing is the game menu. Think about when design is important and when practicality is more important. The Netflix-style big tiles look nice but are impractical. A classic list menu would be clearer ā singleplayer, multiplayer, settings, etc. And inside multiplayer, just a clean list of game modes. Same for game settings, simplify it instead of hiding things under multiple layers.
What I must praise: the graphics and optimization. I rarely encountered bugs, glitches or FPS drops, so big respect for that. The gunplay also feels very good, weapons behave nicely, though Iād tweak damage a little. Sometimes it felt like shots were not registering properly (and I saw others mention this too).
For maps, I would also love at least one fully interior map like Metro in BF4. And maybe bring back the BF1 style conquest mode where the map progresses depending on who wins the round.
Overall, I see potential and I wish the devs good luck. Right now I would not buy BF6, but if many of these things were improved, it would be a clear choice for me. The important thing is that these are mostly adjustments, not fundamental flaws. Battlefield does not fail at its core, it just needs tuning.
I absolutely agree with every point made in this. Especially on the map part. The main issue isnt that the maps are small as we have seen that in previous titles in bf1 and bf4 etc. The problem is that there are just way too many paths to go from making it so much easier to get ganked and spawn killed consistantly. Felt fine to me once I learned the map layouts honestly, in the end of the second beta I kinda knew what places to check and watch out for when crossing certain parts of Cairo for example
Well i guess not everyone has the same experience. I just think it would be nice if the maps were as good as bf1 maps. I think most of us would agree bf1 despite its flaws had the best immersion and map design ever in any bf game
Anyone know what I should do if the 2042 unlockables for playing the BF6 beta aren't unlocked? I don't know what else there is, but the lynx is still locked for me. I played the closed and open beta
I personally like bf 3s map a lot more for the most part. Bf 1 suffers from the the flat big area syndrome a lot where you just get shot at from everywhere with snipers or tanks without being able to find much cover

i disagree with this. With the exception of the desert map( i dont remember the name) every single other map had plenty of places to cover such us rocks or trenches etc. About bf3 maybe you are right, i sadly never played it.

Someone find a bit not fluid the jump vault mechanics on BF 6 when you are trying to climb a ledge at certain highs?
Like the āparkourā movement sometimes not activate.
Like if there is a stairs and you want to climb it laterally the climb doesnāt activate until certain point of height, but feels a bit weird. I remember on BF V it was better obtained
its a beta. These things will definately improve on release. For example they have already mentioned zipline animations being under work. There are other far more important issues
The only thing I would change. Support should not get less points for killing, no way. Keep it balanced. But of course by reviving players and doing the teamplay or fairplay stuff they should unlock additional rewards or have some kind of fairplay level attached so the players can be on the matchmaking with other players which remember about reviving.
Otherwise no support from people or no balance of the team due to this skill-based matchmaking is just awful.
The rest is actually fine in the game. The bigger version of the maps will be in the final versions though.
I have a few of your points that Iām not in agreement with.
The spawning behind someone I only witnessed in the Close quarters games, in the Conquest, Rush and Breakthrough you tend to spawn either on a squad mate, vehicle or in the team spawn area where opposition players arenāt allowed.
Class system where you get more points for fulfilling your role, Iāve seen support players near the top of the scoreboard when theyāve got half the kills or less than other players up there with them. So playing your role already gets you points for supporting or spotting etc.
The run and shoot game play again falls more into the close quarters side of the game more than the full scale conquests etc.
Roof tops and higher ground for Recon and sniping will likely become more available on full release and there already is an attachment to lessen the scope glint, even Iāve unlocked that and Iām a very poor sniper š
Someone else mentioned the multiple lanes to move down but I actually like that option, flanking is an important part of battles. The roof top issue that had lots of players complaining about on the Cairo map actually brought a side to conflict that was actually slightly missing in the Beta where you need to keep an eye up and not just around you on the ground or a floor or two above you.

Mentioning "the rest" I would say shooting is still BF, Running which feels a tiny bit slow is still BF i'm thinking if the running with Gun up like in 2042 would be helpful addition and liked by the community š¤
But then getting through buldings, peaking and aiming stuff, getting shot from everywhere + no spawn protection make it a tiny bit CoD-ish when things don't go right and people abuse things and when the match is not good for your team. But I don't name the game 100% CoD but of course it takes some examples.
The most important thing however is that you community managers, devs and producers just listen to the veteran Battlefield players and some things will get even better with the current dynamic of movement and shooting altogether.
There are always things you can try to copy a tiny bit from another game but there should stay things so the balance and the speed will be not too quick and too chaotic unlike previous BF games. The aiming and movement itself are amazing, the recoil could be just a tiny bit higher to not be too laser or too hard as well. I don't like the recoil from CoD or PUBG for example, I prefer recoil as the BF6 Beta, 2042 or BF4
Even 2042 feels a tiny bit slower but that depends on places. Sometimes you end up going aggressive into a flag and either you die and respawn quickly, or you have some more tactics involved in such bigger map like Iwo Jima.
Also I add a note. Probably might be too late anyway..
I wish the story mode will have some crazy stuff funny moments and action moments like BF4, because if the story will be too serious like CoD or too light then it will be bad as well.
I hope also there will be voice in any languages, in my case Polish for example, then the story feels more special as Battlefield 4 had just that š

Regarding on the map sizes yes we definitely we need larger maps 100% but honestly after playing the beta for nearly 30 hours Iāve gotten used to it. U just have to learn to keep ur head on a swivel and learn how the map plays where all the angels are to adjust ur play style. Donāt wanna say anything thatāll get me in trouble but from what I seen online theyāre gonna add bigger maps in the live service.

it because the Beta is a technical playtest to iron out technical issues with player matchmaking en mass - yes but also and what people seem to be either forgetting or intentionally dimissing, which is fairly convenient I might add: a beta is also the first preview the general public gets to get a feel for what the full release is going to be like so they can decide if its a game they want to buy around the Q4 holiday release schedule.
If you are promised the "classic battlefield formula" and yet in the beta only get to play CQB, make key changes to classic kits, unbalanced gunplay to favor run-and-gun gameplay rather than combined arms strategy, maps that are not allowing vehicles to feel appropriate whatsoever, no server browser as a basic function, bad ui, etc... hard to think you are going to do aka "classic BF formula" or doing anything different in the full release.

Yes. They are chasing the CoD player audience. They've invited CoD esport players, introduces many CoD gameplay mechanics that were present in other CoD games but new to BF. And its worth mentioning Vince Zampella recently came from the CoD development leadership and he has plans to have an annual release schedule for BF not to mention whatever other bad idea CoD games tried and failed with. It failed with CoD so my interpretation of the current gameplay vs previous CoD dev model is this is their second chance to try out new (but imo bad) ideas and try to make them work. š¤¦āāļø š¤·āāļø

I think the BF4 firing range was perfect (or least the best so far). It has everything you needed to tweak to practice all kind of stuff including vehicles.
Here is a suggestion for coming betas (and maybe releases in general) .
Add some way to put suggestions, bugs and maybe more of that sort down in the in game chat window. It could be a separate channel/channels that others do not see (or they do) where one could instantly just write whatever comes to mind during playing in terms of bugs or suggestions. It could have an intro message with suggested tags like BUG: SUG: or whatever. You (DICE) could then feed it all into an LLM to organize it (in case it is too much to read manually which I'd expect)
I actually quite like this direction of making gunplay and CQB a bit more like COD
Since I just donāt actually mind it, because CQB gunfights are just one aspect of BF
The other aspect are the gadget trading busy work and revive and vehicles and stuff

this is the main issue the BF community seems to have a resounding issue with. Its not that CoD players and the community are coming to BF. Players like myself welcome new players, regardless of where they come from. But when you start changing the "classic BF formula" to match [x] - or in this case CoD; then people are getting frustrated. If you want to play a game like that, then go play that game not changing BF for everyone to cater to that.

Iād love to get more info and would be glad to help with feedback or testing. As a game developer, I could see myself spending a lot of time creating maps in Portal as a side project, especially if it really uses Godot and scripting like the trailer suggested.
Most folks here are players focused on the gameplay side of BF6, but I thought my specific interest in Portal creation as a developer could be useful if testing opportunities come up.

Well Iwo Jima in BF2042 now is feeling much more like a combine arms Battlefield than what we experienced in BF6 .. Yeah BF6 was fun but they doubledown a bit to much into the infantry focus stuff .. I really hope dice will create way more Maps similar to Iwo Jima since they reduced the playercount to 64 again .. In 2042 most 64 player maps were not great at combines arms

In MAG on playstation 3 256 players we could have a 32 players lobby so filling an entire platooon wich was divided in 4 squads but squad leaders and platoon leaders could speak to each other and players had proximity chat to team up with team mates in their proximity
also even with a 32 player party we found games in seconds with Zipper match making back then in MAG ....

Yes, but look at the skins you can unlock on 2042, guns are red, blue... i feel like when they gonna make money via the shop, they gonna start to make colorfull skins, but in the same design as the basics...

Everything will depend on how greedy they are lol I just hope they don't deviate too much from the original vision of the beta. The moment they release a pink/unicorn/cartoonish skin, I'm quitting the game, sick of it.

The core statement is that the focus of labs entry doesn't appear to be a focus on core battlefield fans. Which there is plenty of evidence for. (literally every leak, and the fact that they say feedback was super positive in labs,.... with these tiny ass maps that are not battlefield maps).

Anyways ideas. I think BF6 should have co op missions like BF3 and BF5 had.
That was fun and gave out a decent amount of exp and rewards and quick way to level up if you and your friends can complete them.
You and your battlefield friends go on missions and these are massive maps where anything can happen and you have full access to your classes and custom loadouts. I loved BF5 for that.
Overwatch, Siege, Apex Legends, Warzone, PUBG, Halo Infinite, Helldivers 2, Tarkov, Valorant, The Finals, Fornite, all the COD games, CSGO.
Its not like they were subtle about it in their surveys. And everyone I know who put tons of battlefield experience didnt get in, while guys who put experience with other fps games but no battlefield got in.
I'll leave it at that, boring to keep debating it further. I think they could have done better and arguing with no data isnt going to change anyones minds.

I thought the same thing, but in the end it's just an extra game mode. In my opinion, it's not bad, even though I prefer Rush 24/7. If it's bad, no one will play it.
A good take, but I think that if a battle royal is added (which it is more than likely there will be one) that more developmental costs will go to that and predatory microtransactions (eg. Battle Passes, daily login rewards, skins, etc.) IF the game does go that direction it will be in the same positon as 2042 when it first launched, ignoring the gameplay of course.
I think that DICE/EA have some conflicting ideas about what the corporate overlords want in the game to promote player retention and if they do end up going that way it'll be worse for the players unfortunatly
also the insider interview confirming that DICE/EA will be releasing Battlefield games YEARLY within the next 3-4 years does not bode well, especially when that is a factor which killed COD
It all depends on how greedy they are, which is also my fear. Personally, I think it's stupid that BF Studios has the idea of incorporating a BR, when all effort and resources should be focused on making a perfect game at launch. Then we can talk about any gimmicks that can be incorporated.
In the past, what made battlefield games succeed wasn't microtransactions, or some streamer-content focused Battle royale, it was their community, with a hell of a lot of custom hosted servers, with new rules and great communities, as well as fairly good post-launch content in the form of map and weapon DLC's BF3/BF4/BF1 all hit the mark on these, and honestly it wouldn't be hard for them to return to that formula, I remember when BF1 came out, and people were upset about the weapon crates, but it ended up being a money maker for DICE/EA that most players didn't mind. I think it starts getting out of hand when you feature creep and start adding wild shit that is way out of scope of the game eg. some of the far out skins in bf2042 as well as mismanagement when the game launched and the year or two we had to wait for the game to be in a good shape and actually fully enjoyable (while still debatable)
But all-in-all I agree with you, I don't see anything specifically wrong with a Battle Royal mode, but if I'm honest I'm tired of seeing them because for the last 3 or 4 years that's been the main focus and even before then too. It just seems like the looter-shooter and Battle Royal space is way too oversaturated.
I agree with you, but unfortunately the OG devs from DICE are no longer there, so the new devs are going to incorporate new elements that they are used to. Plus, there's always a genius who will say, āWhat if we copy COD and Fortnite?ā or a shareholder who watched a video of a trade bro explaining the business model of popular games, and then forced developers to copy the same business model.
Its just unfortunate to be honest, I hope they make a change the beta overall was great, and felt like a return to the formula but we'll see it really is just a waiting game at this pint

There are ingame purchases / microtransaction and they will not go anywhere in games. Its not a bad thing either, as long as they dont give you pay-to-win advantages and do nut turn a game into something i did nou buy into. Like, if you sell me a shooter as military-style with grounded realism, then dont fucking add unicorn or beavis&butthead skins few months later. Cuz thats not what i paid forā¦

When I sign in, it just takes me back to the BFLabs home page, with sign up now and join discord buttons, and when I hit sign up now, it takes me to the same playtesting survey Iāve completed 2 or 3 times now
If you're already logged in, its true, will take you to the home page and you won't see anything indicating that you have logged in.. In the menu at the top, look for āgamesā and click on āBattlfield 6.ā Now, in the upper right corner, you'll see your profile icon. Honestly, I think the page has a bug because it caught me off guard too.

You signed up for it, thatās all you need to know and if you were in early access for the beta, you know it went through. The confirmation emails are bugged. When youāre invited to a Labs playtest youāll get another email with instructions

Even reading that. I was invited to labs and played one weekend. Have never been invited back since. If you get in to BF labs do you just not get auto accepted for everyone after? Or has there not been a labs BF6 test in months?
I guess I shouldnāt say I was never invited back. I was just never able to play the other labs BF6 tests if there were ones available. I still have the app on my PS5 and get updates regularly.

You have to now receive an email IF you get accepted. The email will have a code in it that will allow you to download labs on whatever platform you chose. Only thing is there might not be another labs test until next month

You may be able to use the code to download the battlefield labs still but not sure. I did it for the Alpha. I just noticed there was a sizable download on the battlefield labs version of BF6
It says beta on the cover of the click to play button but when you load in it still says Alpha

Quick question, does anyone know if Dice acknowledged the issue that several players were having (regarding guns, player model's hands, other player models, vehicles) disappearing (and when regarding guns, also meaning that there was no reticle when ADS unless your monitor had a built in crosshair mode), whether by themselves or a combination? This was a huge issue that I pushed through, during both betas. I'm only asking because I have searched everywhere and cannot find any articles or posts acknowledging the issue, nor is it listed in the "Known Issues".
I hope no one thinks that I'm whining or complaining, I'm truly just curious if it was acknowledged and is being looked at, because the game is absolutley amazing otherwise (which is saying a lot...the game is that good that even with this game breaking bug, I had fun during the beta). If anyone does know if it was acknowledged, can you please send me a link or where I can find it?

Make a bug report about it to raise awareness of it. They donāt tend to acknowledge things like this post beta, but if enough people report it it will definitely be on their radar

Just as an FYI, most games with a known issues list don't literally list every known issue they're aware of for the sake of brevity, only the ones that appear to be more widespread. Doesn't mean they aren't aware of other bugs, but if they listed every single bug that affected only a handful of people, it would become very diluted, and wouldn't reflect the average experience for the average player. For example, the rooftop bug affected everyone, whereas the bug you're describing regarding disappearing models didn't affect me at all. Trust that they have a more detailed and exhaustive list for when they're bug fixing the game. I'm sure you've seen bug fixes in other games for bugs you didn't even know existed lol

Has anyone suggested to allow us to change loadout in between matches? We're being pushed into the matchmaking queue. I can matchmake from the main menu and change my loadout. Why can't i do in between matches?
You probably need to disable EA overlay in the ea app if youāre playing on PC. Iāve had the same issue when play StarWars Battlefront 2.

So with the BF6 open beta debrief mentioning they'll be testing two "large scale" maps. Does that mean we'll get another Open Beta weekend?
if anyone read the news page....their boneheaded appraoch to rush is something i dont understand especially with the line "Using win/loss data from the Open Beta, weāre continuing to make map-by-map balance adjustments towards our goal of 50/50 win ratio for both Attackers and Defenders"....none of this make sense when you have non persistent matchmaking

the thing about map balance is tho.....some areas SHOULD be harder to attack/ defend and some should be easier to attack/defend, it shouldnt be a constant exhausting perfectly cut down the middle tug of war, the tug of war happens on the macro side of the map
IMO, liberation peak needs to lose the sniper rocks, thatās by far the biggest problem with the flow of the map on rush and breakthrough

i immediately clocked what the rock side of the map should hahve.....trenches, put trenches on the mountain side kind of like monte grappa and you pretty much nerf snipers without touching the class or the weapons

they dont even have to be real trenches, dug outs and bombed out foxholes that make an aysmetric trench grid

- auto spotting
- no healing shots
- instant kill headshots
- holding your breath
- UAVs

yeah, I was hesitant about open weapons but I think if they make the specialist specific weapons have some appropriate bonuses for their intended classes it kind of solves it's self
not to mention commando traits have been a thing since bf2 and bf3 onwords had half the recons picking tugs and weapons with carbines....

The biggest problem with the beta for me was the poor map design. For example, Liberation Peak had the problem that the defense always had high ground and cover, while the attackers always had to cross a plain where there was nothing.

remove the stim, give assault a med crates and paddles, thats what keeps the frontline up instead of a beacon, give support ammo, anti infatry claymores, mortars and sledgehammers, waaaaaay clearer identity
Itās kinda useful imo. If you want to never be helped by your team and just have mindless fun, join an open weapon game. If you want medics to actually pick you up and people to actually try doing their class job, play a locked weapons game
