It means implicitly trusting the anti-cheat to not be hostile or turn into malware through an update. It can see and do anything and everything it wants to. It has the capability to know what you are doing at all times. Read what websites you visit, know when you are on or off your PC, know all the other users on the PC, can take screenshots of anything on your PC, etc.

The key word is trust. Anyone working in security will inherently not trust anyone or at least hate conceding to it. Everyone is just betting on and praying that the trust isn't broken for any reason.

To be fair, screenshots and other things like file scanning have been normal, and don't need the permissions Javelin needs, and have been standard for over a decade already.

Because not many are actively trying to stop DMA cheats, if you’ve played any Call of Duty, Delta Force, Battlefront 2 recently, you almost 100% have played undetected blatant cheaters, this is because they can’t detect DMAs without a kernel level pc check, because pcie devices circumvent traditional anticheats, as the software is just surface level and as a result the non kernel anticheat cannot tell if it is a DMA bypassing security, or a capture card/crossfire gpu. The ONLY way to know the difference, is on a kernel level, because that’s where those processes happen on a firmware level

TPM just makes sure you are booting a trusted source, signed kernel which in turn validates enforcing signed drivers which allegedly prevents the system and the game from loading 3rd party unsigned drivers that could interrupt, alter, input, etc. Like encryption keys have never been leaked and there aren't ways to chain load modified libs into system dlls and signed drivers. Kernel level anti-cheat is just a lazy approach trying to tackle a complex problem. It doesn't really address paid cheats with serious dev teams, more of preventing cool hacker teenager from fiddling around.

Check msinfo32 (system information) look for secure boot status. It's kinda hidden under the first menu the software opens in which is "system summary" if it says Off that means windows cannot detect if secure boot is on or not

You might need to select "Other OS" in your bios for secure boot or in my case I needed to select "Restore Factory Keys" after selecting the custom option under the boot menu below secure boot. That's on Gigabyte's bios on budget motherboards

Check secure boot state in windows on system information if secure boot state says "Off" then windows cannot see if secure boot is on in software. Also resetting the secure boot keys is totally fine, from what I recall it's just telling your bios to use the default keys for secure boot to work properly
