Its because with 32v32 games you have a lot of server variation which makes even 200ms ttk weapons one frame you

Your current ttk on some weapons are 150ms, below 100ms with headshot/bodyshot, you cant react to it and you cant counter it

Sweetspot is an existing mechanic and I have a hard time that a bunch of players who had direct lines of comms to the devs at the event wouldn't have ran over to them and asked them if it's in the game

it's good to remember that battlefield originated in a landscape reflecting team-based and military shooters drawing themselves up out of the primordial, sacred ooze of the original arena shooters; and so Battlefield's position of "realism" or along the "arcade - sim" spectrum was always meant to take something like Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory or Team Fortress (Quake mod)/Team Fortress Classic or Unreal Tournament 2004's big multi-stage combined-arms-with-vehicles maps (see also Tribes II) and put it in a grounded context more resembling real war - but never really to be an actual sim. it's supposed to be more tactical than an outright arena shooter.

I have been playing bf since the beginning with bf1942 + Desert Combat Mod. Bf5 onward has left me skeptical of their intentions.

I'll give it a fair try, but i will keep my final thoughts reserved till the actual release and launch. BF4 had a rocky launch with horrendus net code issues, but the game at its core was still great.

3k hours on bf3, probably 2k hours on bf4 (probably like everyone else here) mostly recon, and I find the beacon change on the assault classe a good way to encourage teamplay, because the snipers are mostly in the back and the assault on the front line

I think the destruction needs a fit of tuning, lots of destruction is great but a lot of the clips ive seen, say the first rocket shot into a building has a fair bit of "destruction effects" however nothing actually happens, and then the second shot takes a huge chunk out of the building straight away, perhaps would be better if the first shot could have some very minor destruction to create a few minor peak holes, maybe a little of breakage of walls near windows/corners/floors/ceilings? Like taking a piece out first rather than the entire wall collapsing.

It is intrusive. That's the entire point. Getting down to the kernel can have serious side effects as well, if the anti-cheat software isn't developed properly but is really the only way they can detect in-game memory manipulation, a lot of games are doing it. @olive spruce is also right that's its useful regardless.

you can reset the cmos, which is either a button on your motherboard i/o or pull out the cmos battery and leave it like that for 30 secs. this will reset all bios settings to default

secure boot is a bios function that checks a driver digital signature, if a drivers is missing one it will not be loaded. A malware can use a "fake" driver to get kernel level access, what secure boot does is prevent it fron running.

In this case secure boot is used to prevent cheaters from using kernel level cheatd

which is pointless, i mean i made the example earlier even about ram. If you buy a high end ram kit, lets say 6400 mhz, it will run at jedec speed (usually 4800mhz for ddr5) unless you enable xmp (intel) or expo(amd). The bios isn't some scary place and you can always reset it

I know it’s minor, but I hope DICE lets us change the “kill” sound. I never really liked the artificial sounding jingle that played every time I got a kill in previous titles, and I don’t really remember them sounding like that in BF4.

It just takes me out of the immersion and I really feel like there could at least be a more grounded type of sound to play if there must be one.
