Visual recoil: aim tied to center, reticle not tied to center

BFV and labs: aim tied to reticle, reticle not tied to center

The latter is much worse for skill gap

With visual recoil, you can use third party crosshairs and ignore the in game one.

However, when aim isn't tied to screen center, it becomes literally impossible to track moving targets at range because human reaction time prevents it

You have to constantly switch back and forth between the position of the target on your screen and the position of the red dot on the screen, which bounces around randomly

For full auto weapons this is impossible to do consistently because the time between shots is lower than human reaction time

Youre ignoring battlefield 3 and 4 entirely here, those were 2 games that were truly meant for everyone

Battlefield 1 was super heavily catered towards a very casual playerbase

Battlefield 5 was more of an attempt for a comeback from battlefield 1 but the main issues with the game were and still are, bad gunplay, bad maps, bad visibility, bad playermodels, “historical inaccuraccies” which a lot of people were butthurt over, one of the most disliked game trailers for extremely niche reasons, bad tank/land vehicle gameplay, they took a lot away in community aspect (harder to host and fill servers), bad matchnaking, nutorious cheater issues

Keep in mind that battlefield 5 has roughly around same current active players as battlefield 1

Battlefield 4 was objectively the “last true battlefield” in that sense

It had depth for skillgap, it had more skill required gadgets/skill required weapons, it had movement mechanics, vehicle gameplay had a lot of depth and it appealed both casuals and “tryhards”

And i dont think we should heavily nerf and remove depth from the game and add mechanics that exist for the soul purpose of aiding worse players because people either, do not care or want to learn the game or are outright bad

Its just a rather absurd mindset in my opinion, i dont want a heavily complex game but i dont want over simplified gameplay either with very bare minimum options

Well in 2042, its pretty much non existent apart from the portal weapons witch for some reason have actual recoil but also a bit too much like the DMR's (or its tuned at bit oddly). And i'm a Pc player, its not satisfying at all to full auto a guy at 50m without any issues. I should need to control the recoil or tap fire if i want to take him out not just aim and hold left mouse button.

I do however feel the ammo box and med kit should live with medic and engineer/support classes. Maybe swap the anti-tank gear to assault like V & 1.

That's why class locking weapons makes more sense imo. You can turn your AR into an LMG with 60 round mag but you will have less attachments than an LMG with 100 round mag because you spent your points on extended mag.

Non accurate gun names is because of multiple reasons.

One is licensing. Another is many laws prohibiting advertisement of non military weapons that can be purchased IRL.

Under these laws some military weapon names are allowed. Which is why in games with fake names, you still see weapons like the m16, rpk, AK, etc.

Well I'd personally prefer 350ms average TTK with good movement. CoD can work with shorter TTK since the player count is much lower but BF you're getting pelted by so many players and angles if it's too fast you can't reasonably play to your outs.

To be fair from what I've seen I've been considerably less optimistic so I get their concerns. There seems to be a lot of poor inclusions and gameplay design philosophies that hurt the experience.

Yes, your own experience can mean a lot but there's also a lot of aspects that will never align regardless of first hand experience. I don't need to play something with visual recoil, movement disjointing your aim from screen centre, 2 BTK, mortars/airburst etc to know it won't make an enjoyable game.
