Particularly the part where being shot in the chest reduces your health regen (taking massive damage) and heavily damaged vehicles being slowed by rockets just dont sit right with me.

yeah I gotta agree. Adding a new passive effect to an existing item seems at odds with the sandbox nature of the game.
CPL is saying that class perks are stronger than BF4s version of them (for some parts, i agree with)
Being pricked by a sniper and being fucked isn't fun.
Being spotted (and being unrevivable by headshot) to me is pushing it.
Nvm being in a tank and swarmed by engies and not being able to escape.
Hardline did that and it was fine
Imo the no-revive for bolt action headshots should be there without the need for an upgrade. It entices people to aim for headshots rather than center of mass.

i think the unrevivable headshot is fine. not great, but not horrible

- people can't hit headshots consistently on moving targets, unless you stand still for more than 3 seconds

And it isnāt spammable because of how low bolt-actions fire rate is

Tricky to put into words but it feels like its breaking the established rules of how one interacts with the game.
Usually its straight forward: you pull out an item, you click buttons to interact with that item. This is the core of the sandbox. But now there is this 3rd interaction, where what the item does changes based on a factor outside of that item. And because of this it feels less like an interactable space.
If hypothetically some such perk exists, I could see it being rather annoying. Snipers can just dome you out of nowhere, so you could be doing your own thing and suddenly you are out of the fight entierly, if that ended a streak of mine i'd be very annoyed, especially if with a squad
But it's equally oppressively powerful that you can be getting pricked by snipers with no consequences to the gunfight you may be in.
I've said this for ages that without anything like aimpunch, suppression, or this new regen thing that CQ infantry always have an advantage
Engineers get rocket launchers always usable. Is that fairer than a bodyshot with a rifle reducing HP regen speed?
No sway, resistance to spotting and deadshot headshot is super good!
Because my soldier health regen shouldn't be removed by some annoying dude who refuses to stop harassing me.
It would make recons stronger, as the ranges people play at usually have snipes just being revived moments after, but if people used snipers to their strength they'd have impact regardless

Getting your healing removed will def be a pain
Imagine it this way: youāre fighting someone when all of a sudden you get hit for like 30 damage from across the map by the weakest sniper. Normally, this wouldnāt be an issue. Now though, you canāt heal and have a massive disadvantage just because a sniper you canāt find hit you once

I think the idea behind the class perks are good, but making the final one basically an ultimate is a bit weird

I mean, I am the same in spirit, just far less successful. I compensate for my passive recce addiction in games like Arma by being extremely aggressive in games like BF.

In BC2 recon mortar was a directed barrage, that didn't 1 shot a player as long as they moved after they saw/heard it coming in. Was as good for camping snipers as it was for camping vehicles.
It feels more powerful in 2042 portal than in BC2

Iād be fine with a 2042 style ui if they just make the bottom right of the hud like 4ās. The mobile-game looking gun icons make it very cluttered and cheap feeling

Itās kinda useful, but also useless. If itās going down, you are outnumbered. If itās standing still, thereās an even number of ally and enemy. If itās going up, you outnumber them.

So even if it was 3 v 7 you would know. In previous games you would only know whether one fraction had more.

Iāve never felt the need to know how many Iām going against, but I guess it is slightly useful
I dont like it. I think it treats the players as if they are stupid. "Bigger number mean bad!!!"
In reality, a player should know that if the flag is being captured, there are more enemies than friendlies.
I especially dont like in 2042 how looking at aflag from a distance shows you this info

Gameplay also suggests flags no longer exist, which means no possibility of returning to the flag proximity system.

I like to see "1 vs 12" on breakthrough as a defender, that's how you realise your team already gave up and is already on the next sector.

I feel like a lot of stuff modern games add does that. Like, we arenāt stupid. We know that weāre massively outnumbered if the capture is dropping like a rock. We donāt need a ui element to tell us this
Im mostly fine with it, as I understand the modes. And I guess it does help new players to understand things. I just feel its a BIT unnecessary
I liked the cat and mouse that happened in older games, where the closer you were to a flag, the faster you capped. If it was a 1v1 on a flag, the player closest to the flag capped it
Same with guns on the ui. We donāt need an indicator of āpress 1 to equip primaryā on the side at all times. Thatās what a tutorial is for
Tho, a lot of games donāt have tutorials nowadays unless theyāre adding a big new feature

Why would boundary markers be bad?
It's on the minimap, and when you have an enemy in the area the flag capture icon shows up, that's enough indicator.

Boundary markers look odd, cos its like a realism breaker in this authentic war game experience.

Definitely more useful for vehicles though, especially with angular damage in the other games
again I don't think it's needed. With time you learn how many bullets from this or that weapon should get you a kill. No point of having the info you removed 6 times X amount of his life bar.

Fully agree. I understand they want to expand the playerbase to less skilled / versed gamers but I liked getting a better and better feeling for how many bullets kill with each weapon. Talking about battlefield3 back then especially

Damage makes the tank seem stronger while percentage makes the explosive seem stronger
Imo damage is better since you should be somewhat afraid of facing a tank
I donāt think there should be damage indicators. Maybe for assist when killed or destroyed. Let players figure out themselves that a grenade launcher doesnāt deal much damage to a T90.

Just bring back the "count as kill" with the score equal to the damage you dealt. divide it by the number of shots you landed and you have your damage per bullet
Na, since a rocket might do 100 damage, but a tank have 400 armor (Health)
One thing that I kinda want to see is explosives rocking vehicles more. It makes them feel actually powerful

Its the same as with guns. If your gun sounds weak, it will feel weak to use.

The sound of a rocket ricochet on the armor of a tank 
it's like watching someone swing an LMG one-handed up above their shoulder in pre-game trains your mind to think of the gun as made of plastic š

I entirely missed guns feeling like AN94 or G3A3 in BF2042. Battlefield 3 overall had a more grounded gunfeel.

I think BF2042 has a good feedback when it comes to landed shots. But headshots, not as satisfying as BF1

Played BF3 again and they had it perfect imo. I agree why should there be any more feedback for a hit beyond a hitmarker.
The degree of bloat in 2042 and other games is insane, almost like a sensory nightmare sometimes

Okay pointers !
1 listen to player base feedback. Veterans and newer!
2). Bring back core classes! Not operators and skins! Keep realistic cosmetics that unlock to show player progression that are functional to map region elements and have functionality to players who want to strategically play. If your in an urban map you can put on an urban pattern or on ur weapon. Say snowy map you want artic fatigues and m81 blouse to blend in if unlocked sure! Practicality not terminator and pay for skins that have not reference or call of duty vibes.
3) 64 player maps, bring back rush! Maybe some heritage maps for veterans like caspian border, operation locker, operation metro, firestorm, ect per each season!
4) destruction, map weather, and map levitation like flood zone!
5) movement mechanics, move when down, drag down teammates, or when down go into a last stand with side arm!
6) again EA please just listen to your community, veterans and player base feedback and donāt rush or skip anything. Take time to really polish the game and not release early like bf5 and 2042. Clean it up!
7 campaign mode for those veterans who enjoyed campaign and though a extraction or royale mode would appease many really take time to again polish multiplayer first !

I wouldnāt say the best by flow but was different by the elements with levitation flooding and high rises! I agree it was constricting.

I dunno, the high rises didnt really add much to that map. You just had people wasting helis to get up there with a sniper.

Zavod was a very fun map, id prefer to see that over floodzone

Honestly, id love for them to do maps fully made for one mode, and one mode specifically. Like have a map thats made just for conquest, not a map thats made for conquest, BT, rush, TDM and everything in between.
You could probably get away with conquest maps also supporting conquest small, and TDM...but lots of recent maps have suffered for trying to be a jack of all trades, master of none.
BC2 was so good for me, cos all the maps seemed tailored for Rush

No certain maps really have good game modes I agree hard to do all jack of trades but maybe have a play filter like cod . I hate COD but nice to be able to chose what specifically you like and the map and modes selection.

Hardcore promotes campy playstyles and is inherently low skill because it doesnt require effort to kill, 1-2 bullets isnt "realistic" - it promotes lazy playstyles and low skill meta. Just mount on an angle and melt players, "normal" means you can fight back if you need too, and gives you an incentive to push players on angles.

I don't think battlefield will get as absurd as cod.
The most absurd i can think of is probably zains secret agent skin.
Pre-Alpha looks amazing, love the graphics. You can tell itās gonna go in a good direction. Place holder audios are obvious, other than that Iād like to suggest adding an option for turning off multiple things that are audible and visual, (could be beating a ded horse here), but hopefully the vehicles will sound more epic and sounds such as battles will be bassy and you can push up with them, making them seem more like a moving fortress instead of a tin can
The labs map in certain spots is narrow, with a friendly tank providing moving cover, it would be a cool addition
Battlefield has pretty much always had a āwar tapesā audio. I also think the sound design of battlefield has always been one of its strongest features

That would make larger maps terrible to play at the start. Imagine Golmud railway but you have to either run to the first objective or wait to spawn on the first objective. Could be a bit better if jeeps are free, but imo the vehicle chaos of the first few minutes of a game are amazing.
Also, it would have to be points or something besides for kills as it is too assault-leaning. Why should the medic get punished for doing his job?

Points just make more sense. Kills still give you a ton of points so offensive players would be able to get vehicles a lot. It just wouldnāt completely lock entire playstyles out of vehicles
Kill-based vehicles have the same issue as sbmm: It makes everything competitive. It means that if you want a vehicle you have to sweat your ass off so you can be the first. This is not good for a casual game like bf
sorry man, if there was a big medkit tractor we could give it to the people who spam medkits, the giant gun on treads goes to the people who prove they can get kills

People donāt want to get home from their job and have to sweat just to play the playstyle they like.
