I am actively against any form of customisation I think this needs to be a competitive shooter so that it can stand up against giants like Wild Assault as a proper competitive shooter

I'd like to see a sort of "Gunsmith Lite/Revised" mechanic in a BF game. Some system that lets you alter the appearance of typical attachments without necessarily altering their function. I think the BF4 system could serve as the foundation, where you (for instance) had several different models of suppressors that all did the same thing and differed only in actual 3D model. So for instance you could have a SureFire FA556SA or NT4-QDSS suppressors, or to make it more easily recognizable; changing an EOTech 552 to a EOTech XPS3.

I think the weapon components as described above should be unlocked via weapon progression, though separately from the actual attachment "parent" being unlocked.

Say you had a Russian weapon system (for a change from the traditional NATO/Western/AR platform) and you got 10 kills within 20 meters (or some such criteria), you would unlock the PK-AS 1x red-dot optic, and then as you used that optic you would unlock alternative models of similar optics, for instance the Aimpoint CompM4 or SIG Romeo4T.

Hi Everyone,

I'd like to submit an idea for the next instance of Battlefield : Day and Night versions of maps.

I've always been a great fan of the low visibility of Nivelle Nights and Prise de Tahure in BF1, Theran Highway in BF3, Dawnbreaker and the night version of Zavod 311 on BF4.
Thinking how Zavod had a night version that completely changed how the map played and felt, I believe that would be a great addition to have different times of the day/night settings on BF6 to break the repetitiveness of the maps.
Destruction could have its part here, with the possibility to shoot down light sources or, for example, blowing up a transformer could create a power outage in the area near it, shutting down the lights.
Night vision googles could become an accessory in place of the current 2024 medpen/defib/repair tool/beacon (and switch back to 2 gadgets instead of specialist equipment), which would make IR laser an additional weapon attachment option.
Dice showed multiple times maps can be great in day and night version : Operation on Narvik in BFV, temporary halloween event on BF1 maps in BF2042 and the night version of Zavod.

I was thinking about pretty much the same thing the other day.

As in, each map would have 4 (or so) variations of time of day — day, night, dusk, and dawn, where dusk would progressively advance into night, and dawn would progressively advance into morning (in real time), so that you're forced to adapt to lighting conditions. Full day/night cycle doesn't make much sense when you're playing 20-30 mins per match.

The map should adapt, of course, to lighting changes. Light sources should influence the gameplay. Night vision/IR goggles and scopes would become necessary. In past BF titles, night vision and IR felt like something that didn't really impact the gameplay too much.

Same goes for weather. It'd be awesome to have rain, snow, fog, or even sand storms (based on what we've seen in the BF Labs reveal video) that affect the visibility. We've had that in past BF titles, but combined with a dynamic time of day it brings a new layer to the gameplay, and more variation in how a map feels. You could start during a clear night at dawn, with the map slowly progressing into a foggy morning.

Let's see what the playtests bring. Hoping to get in.

If you sign up for a Playtest, you wont need to look at the page again, EVER. Just wait till a mail pops up with a confirmation and follow the Guide
