However, I am ridiculously opposed to that since it, as mentioned, nullifies your concealment efforts, and provides a method for tracking targets through obstacles.

The way I see it. Players with good aim will still end up the best players, even versus us "Older" players.

But if you make the movement ability too cracked/crazy, you'll just alienate those older/casual players...making the skill gap between players too wide. (See current Warzone)

You can still allow some skill through movement by having it be ultra responsive, and allow things like crouch sprint and some form of sliding to cover.

Sliding can be made that stops you shooting mid slide, but also so it can get you around corners/engage other players. If they make it so you'd have to time the slide to end as you reach the cover breach (allowing you to shoot), it would both be good for players that dont like sliding...and be skillful enough that good players can use it to help them.

I do think a player sliding towards another should be the one at a disadvantage tho. Like if im guarding a corner and a player slides around, they shouldnt be able to slide and prefire you

I liked the fast paced movement from V and 2042, however in my opinion BF best movement was BF1's, I dont think there should be cod like jump shots and such stuff

@vestal berry with BF2025 Can you implement a good rank system too? Like BF3 where you can go from level 1 to colonel, then it's takes 230k XP each LvL to get to Colonel 100 with cool Icons? Battlefield has been missing this since BF4.

Even add cool rewards every 10 levels and when you get colonel 100 you get some dope stuff.

In all fairness, if you want milsim, battlefield isn't it. Having crazy options in portal or add 10000x damage is crazy imo, it devided the community. And players in the milsim servers I wouldn't really say they've played more than 2 battlefields. How many here have played since BF2 ? Or the first real console battlefield modern combat.

Portal should for for normal maps, normal damage. Normal xp in NO AI in pvp servers. And no damage modifiers.

With the trailer of portal or 2042. I think dice expected players to crate fun modes like knifes VS defibs. / EOD bot wars. Etc.
If players like milsims there arma reforger etc.

Yeah, Arma is great, but we’ve been keeping this MilSim scene on BF4 for this reason, it’s just ridiculous how people tried to recreate the same feel as we’ve had it since bf3.

MilSim does work quite well on these older ones with the right community, and luckily we’ve stayed true to that by not going down the rabbit hole with 2042.

All I’m saying is, I hope it’s more like these older games where we can run it sensibly and it works.

Yeah man, it’s been dwindling the past year or so now, but honestly since the announcement for the new BF came out, we’ve had a bit of an influx of people.

We’ve been up and running on it for years now, around 2/3 years ago we had a community with well over 2500 players in and it was great.

Hoping to be able to recreate that kinda fun and experience for people.

Because a constantly enabled thermal imaging device would remove so much need for concealment that it is not even funny.

I don't mind thermal optics with limited field of view and/or blocked peripheral vision, since that requires at least some sacrifice in that you can't sprint around like a headless chicken and still benefit from it.

Beside that, thermal vision devices (e.g. ECOTI, AN/PSQ-20) are still extremely rare in the real world. That combined with the extreme advantage that constant thermal vision would give makes me extremely opposed to their inclusion.
