it takes a second to settle
then it works fine
its cause the brightness is scaled before AA
and the AA works by using the previous frame
so the TAA history gets messed up for a second

the storage pipeline on the PS5 is really top notch
buttery smooth
u can tell eveyrthing is fully optimized, nothing can take IO time from the storage pipeline
so everything arrives on time, no stutter
whereas on windows directstorage has to fight the OS for CPU time and can have random stutter
DirectStorage is about bypassing the CPU completely
it doesn't fight OS for CPU time
this is the magic of it
but is seems the games dont work well with it
i remember ratchet was a mess
well, its fighting something, because there shouldnt be any stutter at all if its working as intented
i had to take the file out
but something along the pipeline has a hitch or a stutter and causes the asset to not get delivered in time so ur game lags
maybe its just cuz the SSDs are slower on PC, mines only pcie gen3, idk
but the whole claim of "it works just as good as on console" isnt that accurate

Just enabling preset will be fine most of the time, but you can fine tune the sliders to your liking (please don't make it deepfried and post on nexus as "realistic" reshade)

that's a lot of sharpening. The smoothness slider is an inverse sharpening slider with DLDSR, so 100% is the least amount of sharpening (not entirely absent)

the adaptive triggers work wirelssly tho, and u feel tension when u pull them

In Dying Light the Beast, it was stuttering like crazy. Then i did enable vsync in nvapp, and all stutter are gone

even at a steady 70-80fps with no cap it doesnt feel smooth, it feels weirdly laggy
my frame times are inconsistent, even with quarter vsync enabled in game (aka 60fps cap), my frametimes go between 8-15ms constantly

that's so weird, with nv panel it really has to be set to 1/2 refresh rate to eliminate stutters, but putting the interval to 1 in optiscaler makes it run at full refresh rate and there's no stuttering
also native xefg/fsr fg with reshade gave me a lot of vrr flicker, but dlssg to xeFG in opti is okay 😄
oh and in that scenario nv reflex works well

big corpos intentionally not using hall effect/tmr sticks so controller sticks will eventually drift and you'll have to buy new ones = never-ending cycle of planned obsolescence, even though I value those features that dualsense brings, I'm not willing to spend money on a company with such practices.

I still use my 8 years old switch pro controller on pc to this day tho it randomly starts drifting for like a whole minute with every gaming session then stops lol
yeah, Sony/Nintendo/Microsoft are all using non-HE/TMR sticks for planned obsolescence reason, they quite literally found a glitch that gives them huge money just by not using a more advanced technology.
It's the best one out there feature wise, Sebile should match it but it's nowhere to be found. I'm assuming it'll drop with the new Xbox now, and hopefully better first-party support and all.
If a game has DualSense, I never play without it.
But on PC, it's kind of a PITA for all features, you need to use it wired.
