I am saying compared to the previous build, the lighting without RR has improved a lot. I am not saying its the exact same but almost. There is more ghosting there. Obviously we all have to report this problem so they fix it
Tbh aaall I want visually fixed more than anything is better draw distances and less pop in. Like buildings look so low poly/res from not even that far away. Along with a lot of grass pop in

For me on my 5080, and this was before PA patched CD, I shortly tested preset D and E and was not seeing anything outstandingly different between the two. Other than D maybe performed slightly better but that might have just been random.
They probably have the stock textures in high res. We just got the console textures lol

@manic valve with U+ when you change preset make sure to reload save and if you go from RT + PT to full on PT like ptnextv3 you need to restart the game for setting to work properly

yea then there is a quality level and streaming level so you can play with those and check performance you get
and with PTnextv3 there sharc setting it add more bounce light

Playing at DLSS P with Ray reconstruction is pretty good at close to 60 FPS (4k cinematic )

I do see it. I am still in the first area in the small town. Tree shadows and building shadows do still flicker, then you get closer and the higher res shadowmap kicks in. Playing with everything maxed out and RR plus the reno mod.
Oh people were posting on reddit about how DLSS is broken atm, posting blurry shots of things up close to the camera.
It's like 1/10th of an inch of the top of my screen not even a quarter inch
Just a tiny sliver its like looking a magnifying glass the wrong way where it's blurry and distorted
The shadows up close are raytraced shadows. Shadows past 5m or so are just screen space/shadowmaps. The denoiser struggles with denoising. If they are static shadows you'll see them settle after standing still for a few seconds.
Try without RR and see if the flickering pop on is still there? I dont have the shadow quality changing close to the camera its completely gone

It seems like the stones aren't fully rendered at the very edges of the screen and them rendering makes them look blurry and like they're moving when you move the camera while standing still. It's kinda disorienting.

It's smaller shadows that still flicker for me mostly like that a barrell or box cast. Also some foliage or smaller shadows on buildings like from the trim/wooden beams.

I have a feeling that Pearl Abyss just released the game too early and didn't have time to cook properly certain graphical areas. The fact that they are adding so much stuff in these patches is suspicious
It's crazy how people with similar or even the same settings are somehow getting different results in how the game looks. Some peopl have shadow's and the ground shimmering and flickering and some dont...
anyway, with RR on and paralax off, all of the rock flickering goes away

I don't think PA didn't finish this game. Most of these issues are just because they obviously did not have a lot of people with high level skills in knowledge on building an engine and properly implementing a lot of different features

like the parallax is very blurry too. looking at this rock with parralax on with DLAA and its blurry. turn off parallax and it looks a lot cleaner
but obv it loses its parralax

Yeah I think I’ve settled on RR off for now. It was making me dizzy with the constant flickering. I’ve also managed to get DLAA+HDR working without the black bars so long as I don’t alt tab.

Foliage would be blurry from startup unless running DLAA. Fix was to enable dlaa, back out of menu back to the game, and then set it back down to q/b/p/up, whatever you had. But patch notes mention something so might've been fixed, idk. I run 4k DLDSR with DLSS at P so I never had to deal with it

you can download and run DDU and it has a clear shader option
I deleted everything except the bin64 folder and moved the files over
they should be on your base steam install location steamapps/content
4k dldsr, dlss 4.5L performance gaming 
For the bin64 folder I made sure I didn't overwrite other files that I wanted to keep
I also use disk cleanup after

Hi, I installed reshade, then dragged the renodx-crimsondesert.addon64 into my bin 64, but I dont see a reno tab on reshade. 🙁
Whatever file is modified by a mod, and that is changed via an update, will always break that mod. The only ever time it might not happen is if they have a full array-of-byte scan to try to automagically find the correct address location for whatever the mod/tools are using. Or if whatever was updated only changed stuff further down the order of bytes in that package (rare as lots of headers can change in size thus moving everything by a bit).

From what I’ve seen ultra vs cinematic is basically no difference. Benchmarkking claims ultra causes less shimmering in ground textures, but I’ve not tested it.

The way CD uses ray tracing and reflection techniques is like they did it all without having any prior knowledge on how any of it has ever been done before.

you cant start the game with negative lod bias enabled in optiscaler. its what causes the texture flickering. what i do is change to -8 in the loading screen or title screen, and when its fully loaded in, change your dlss presets back and forth
