#Crimson Desert - CHECK PINS FOR ADDON
1 messages · Page 12 of 1
those aren't even the kind of things that bugs me, what bugs me are the things u can't get rid of
but has no use whatsoever
bro landed on namek
thanks for reminding me I had telekenisis powers, it turned this boss into a joke lol
the map design is all sorts of plain and has questionable pathing
like there was this quest u go and confront this guy 100m away from the questgiver
Telekinesis?
then to get to the questgiver u have to ride ur horse 800m back cause u have to take the criminal up the mountain
because while it's indeed 100m away it's up on the mountains

silent hill on ps2 you go in another apartment to pick up the keys for this apartment and that made more sense
than a lot of things in this game
they took a playbook from rdr2 and imitate a lot of the interactions to be like rdr2
How can I get .jxr files to preview on Discord, mate? Every time I share them, they’re sent as files instead.
but then they forgot to add pathing to the horse on the minimap and the path is anything but straightforward
its a png
he sent jxr for hdr users
use reshade to capture hdr pngs
u always have to dl the jxr file since discord doesnt support it
Oh. I see.
yeap
I have no idea how to capture hdr png cause I didn't feel the need to
but my obs can prob do it
Noted. Capturing via Nvidia overlay or Regular windows screenshot?
game bar do it, but image gets high contrast in SDR and doesn't look right almost 100% of the times
game bar in HDR give you png and jxr
hey man lots of things nobody asked for in this world and are still given
this is not weird at all
you are right
amazing for people with monkey brains
yes, game looks super cool on my 5090 Super, thx for asking
this is with Reshade screen shot
really good = all highlights become white
youtuber, he is trying to share knowledge about HDR
that guy just likes bright picture
fails, because bright is good
he advocate for turning on dynamic tonemapping on some games
he had a stream with shortfuse
well, at least he recommends HGIG on LG OLED
and just forgot everything shortfuse told him
but tbh he doesnt say he is some kind of expert. he says that use dynamic tonemapping, if you find picture too dim, and this indeed works
he mentioned he had become better and wanted to improve his old video
but its not true
did he get better?
I can't say for all his recommendations but if a game doesn't have native HDR and you're forcing HDR on console, the console does not respect your system level calibration and pretty much leaves the picture in SDR range within HDR container. So DTM for those situations (or HDR games with low peaks) kinda works if you just want it brighter. I was doing the same thing
no
WTF
all he cares about is still minmaxing his tv
i mean yeah, you spent 2k on a TV, you want to see something
but still to say " turn dynamic tone mapping " in these games that are perfectly adequate like ff16 because he finds the picture dim is just wrong advice to begin with
there's no or
you dont spend 2k to clamp it to srgb
if a game shows 0 nit and peak nits on lilium's analysis shader its a good hdr implementation
If consoles respected your system settings like wndows autohdr does, it would be no need to even suggest DTM. But consoles do not follow your system settings at all. So dtm is your only option unless you like your expensive oled TV being stuck at 200 nits
He's talking about using DTM on consoles, not pcs. On pcs there's better ways
we dont play games on conslows
do i have to pay for early access to download the mod for this game currently?
wrong place sorry
tes
Well yeah but he does, his channel is mostly console centric how to minmax the sloppa on consoles
it's game dependant, lots of hdr on consoles are garbage, but ff16 is fine
true
Exactly and that's the point of his channel trying to inform you is hdr usable or is it sloppa
his recommendations are almost always insane though
If he sees raised blacks he will even recommend staying in sdr
you cant do anything on a console to improve sitation. At lest you can minmax your TV
he recommended to tune up the brightness to 7 or down to 3 and turn on DTM, either one sucks
its not about poor implementation. It just how to compensate it using TV settings
TV-minmaxer should become a slur
alan wake 2
none
When I was console hdring, min-maxing the slopa like this was the only way. And dtming on 800 nit oleds doesn't look as cursed as on 2000 nit
Not perfect but good
its almost perfect on consoles
I have a problem with how you guys are gonna handle grass thon
no nvapi shit
Returnal? Ratchet&clank maybe? Horizon? They also say CoD. Maybe Astrobot. I'm guessing
its not itm on the final image
How do I change the saturation
GT7 too
Anyone know what causes these flickery shadows?
native hdr almost looks as detailed as renodx
I thought their recent games were itm?
fromsoft is one of the only companies that does good HDR I believe
dont know, havent seen myself, only heard that its just an ITM
The game supports DLSS Ray Reconstruction which fixes the grass not looking shaded
not shadows, but displacement mapping
HDR in elden ring and armoured coure didn't look good on consoles for me. Wasn't even any bright
tbh itm on 800 peak nit OLED is not bad at all
does the lighting not know how to handle displacement?
lacks the detail, but at least you get what you pay for, for the nits
Yes exactly that. Its just about usable. If your display goes brighter you should be conservative with the displays contrast/peak it becomes cursed quickly
its not the itm we generally talk about, its done in the same shader right after the sdr tonemapper
It introduces other issues though.
RR On vs Off:
its just a math to expand the sdr tonemapper
the shopkeeper is hotter than our female lead
I hate this game
as detailed as renodx (maybe even more)
What's the problem with it?
the game can look amazing sometimes not gonna lie
both look good indeed
The ghost lol.
the game looks okay-ish if you stays in one spot
and gaze at the horizon
you move and the world moves with you
abeit a bit differently
Ghosting?

I'm using dlss 4.5 it's really not that bad
open the screen and look 😄
Oh wtf lol
ghost town
Reduce lightning from max to cinematic to get rid of that
Max is bugged if you turn off RR
Mine is on cinematic
Never saw that issue
their games only have bright effects basically
I was thinking maybe the critics doesn't understand good korean games like us folks who played korean games from childhood
Is there anything graphical in this game that doesn't have some kind of problem xd
then the scores reflect pretty well actually
I was too quick to blame the critics

renodx is even less bright
How do I edit saturation
ok, turn on RR, al lthe settins maxed, 4k, go in the gambling den at night and play a match
look at the legs of the guy on the right
you will see pain
how am I supposed to enjoy gambling if the graphics distract me
I've seen plenty already
that's why I keep losing $$$
It's kinda needed with RR to get rid of instabilities of dancing shadows. You can get acceptable fps in ultra performance
not being broken makes it better than mostly the entire industry
I have a 5080, I have to use cinematic
Ultra is too demanding
It seems to be tied specifically to that mountain lol.
I've basically decided to just wait until some patches and/or more stuff in RenoDX, because it feels like there's issues anywhere I looked (also my game likes crashing the display driver, idk what's going on there)
cool helmet my guy where did u get this
cinematic is more demanding than Ultra
my kliff still wearing rags
Hey guys should I download the renodx hdr mod available on github? Idk if there is another version here
The Mountain of Ghosts
pinned
he just asks if the version there or here is the same or different
ye
prob same
ty
man, there is basically no GI without RR
... this game looks like a rush job, not "we went gold 3 months ago" type of game
and this was their own engine
nobody else uses it
another secret sauce for optimization
Your overclock or undervolt is unstable
he could be one of those guys that look at youtube go like " set co-30 to make ur cpu gud, no testings needed, it will work trust me "

They basically copied any and every open world action game from the past 20 years msuhed it all together and threw it at the wall, only thing missing is death stranding falling over mechanics
Its slider value + 0.25
minus a lot of the QoL
I corrected since I flipped the naming by accident, the ghost figure only shows on that specific mountain when facing the camera. And only when RR is enabled (with the closest camera mode).
You get it figured out already?
Sorry for offtopic. I just saw it in the sky and idk why, i can see with bare eye this shadowed part of the moon. I have never seen it previously, only the “lit” part. Also its very visible on a photo.
It almost looks like its very close to earth, not 400k km
Jon, newb question, what is the relationship between exposure and brightness (paper white). Trying to figure out which to bump to make the image a little less dim in certain environments
hey I was confused about this also. I was using the first WIP build, updated to the new one but the defaults for exposure on psycho tonemapper are still 1.0. normal or do i need to adjust?
wasnt seeing the increased exposure mentioned in latest build set on default
During certain scenes I see the foliage shimmering, I'm trying to record with OBS but it only records SDR(so I cant show what I mean) for some reason, is this game bug or reno's bug?
RR or max lighting which get turned on alongside RR?
I just hate a lot of the interactions in this game, to plant a flag you have to press y + b to use the magic power, then press A rapidly to hold it up then you have to aim it at the post and press lb
instead of just " press a to plant the flag "
@polar seal go to the github there's now an app that does it all for you, it's called RDXC
they try to copy totk with that shit and in totk it was more fun
cause it was truly a sandbox, here you have to do things the way they intended it to but don't tell you what
One thing that annoys the hell out of me as a Gothic and ES enjoyer is that you are still penalised for stealing even if nobody sees you and you don't get caught
you lose contribution pts is all I think?
it barely does anything, don't think it does anything at all except for the shop
Gothic mentioned
Only 1 and 2, i refuse to accept 3 and 4
aren't they remaking 1
ye

releasing in june
Aye the remake of 1 is out this year
Has anyone noticed any similarities in the world/geography to BDO at all? Is this supposed to be the same continent? There's still a desert? But no ocean on the north? Starting area resembles Serendia. Supposed to be a prequel? What's up with this anyone has a clue?
I'll be honest with you it's been years since I last played black desert and even back then I still don't understand the story
unless they changed that
it was just go to a farming spot, spin to win, go grind to breka my weapons
console gamers and modern gamers are going to bounce off it though imho, when they realise you only get better attack animation by hefty point investment and having to just barely survive most of the time and lure enemies into jank moments
morning @vivid iris i have the latest build but sharpening with FG seems to still not work
Well if it's really faithful to the og lol
hey, think this is known but idk what's happening. last night i posted some screenshots about this
FG seems to apply some type of correction for sharpening or something
the latest version was said to fix it thats why i was letting them know
You guys use Ray Reconstruction with DLSS or RR off with DLAA ?
RR always
max lighting is irrelevant here
From everything I tried RR just seems like a must have. You'll see the effect indoors. Outdoors not as much
its faster to quit out of the game and load than load normally if you get caught doing a crime
so expensive to run though
this game's combat reminds me a lot of og vindictus if anything, you don't get to aim, the game aims and melee boost for you in response to your joystick direction, there's no aim at the enemy head and headshot him, the game calculate whether or not you hit him even if you aim at clearly visible head
but it's more jank than vindictus
RDXC is new app for easier to use renodx? The game wont start with this. can you help? Recommended to use RR with this mod?
ya i posted that it wasn't working. the CA slider works but sharpening does nothing. what i showed was that at vanilla native settings without using the mod, sharpening looks like it does with the mod set to 100. the second you turn on FG you'll see the sharpness is being reduced for w/e reason
dont install display commander
already installed :S
then uninstall it, doesn't work with this game
Desert to Serendia alignment checks out (where Heidel would be) but there's no indication of the ocean in the north it's what's bugging me.
Wait. Wasn't there a lot of stuff underwater in the north sea in bdo. Flood event? Would explain it
@crude marsh Recommended to use RR with this mod?
These "mods" should be banned
"leaves"
it looks so nice with Reno 🥲
Does for me, working nicely
this is good tho
life saver for me
recommend
renodxcommander uninstalled but still wont launh the game :S
how to work? one button?
It won’t and can’t, it’s always off cause it’s straight up not in the shader. I mean, I could add it probably but idk if anybody would want that.
It’s added behind the scenes
ah sorry ty sir
oh, this totally explains it. so that vanilla sharpening isnt there or being applied when FG is enabled basically?
The pinned Message says Something Like add 1.25 exposure. Does that mean we have to add this manually or was this added with the File? Confused because it says "add" and not "added" 😄
@vivid iris ah my bad i mistook the whole fix ca and sharpening sliders in the latest pin as it was working
its applied behind the scenes so leave at 1.0
Alright thx
it is fixed, CA and sharpening sliders fully working as intended. the sharpening that vanilla has without FG on just isnt applied basically when you turn on FG. think Jon said it's just not in the shader when you turn FG on, but CA is so that is reduced with FG if u set to 0
My game is crashing a lot, is anyone else having issues? This is with the latest nvidia drivers.
No crashes
no crashes on my rig, full amd build though
Wonder if it is frame gen
None here either, though I'm on 591.86.
FG doesn't crash either, though I prefer playing without it.
im using FG with FSR Native AA and no crashes
4090, newest drivers, DLSS FG + RR, no crashes at all, 10+ hours.
Maybe I'll try ddu if it crashes again
Guys it is AMAZING. 3x FG RR+ Renodx mod it is DIFFERENT GAME (No Chroma no Film Grain Max sharpening )
I cant believe
Appreciate for it !!!
yea, for me the game is very stable no crashes 20+ hrs, new drivers
will optiscaler allow you to customize upscaling?
For all it's flaws I must say the stability and performance is generally amazing. Having this insanely big world with zero shader comp stutters and absolutely no traversal stutter is nice.
Even with all the visual instability and bugs I much rather play this game than most UE5 open world games
... this game sucks, you go out and clear out a bandit camp, then you can't take anything cause it's considered stealing

The best thing is his smooth it is. Camera motion is butter
That is a good point because even BDO had a lot of stutter issues
Zero stutter
I tried this and the problem is the sensitivity is not great and its hard to walk in interiors
Not many games are this smooth, gotta give them that. Even when many npcs are around (maybe worse on lesser hardware dunno)
is me or ACESv2 looks better than Psychov-11 ?
Where can I download the Crimson Desert RenoDX files?
see the pinned message
On welcome tab? you just add the files to the game
Apparently u can cook food on the ground using your sword glow thing 🤯
hi im new here.
do i have to leave the ingame exposure setting at standart setting ? 🙂
while using renodx mod in crimson desert
not. Psy is newest
shadows in general looks way crushed in ACESv2 tho
I would take UE5 stutters with sw lumen over this any day of the week
at least we could fix it without pure pain
That's one point why it's worse.
it's you
also lights in ACESv2 are all severely discolored
whats your guys ingame exposure setting ?
Default.
just leave it at default with reno typically, it shouldnt matter what it is though at least not usually with reno
i am on a c5... and when its nighttime... its absoloutly too dark...
dont listen to others. Just choose whatever you prefer. "Correct" may be just not to your taste
It looks more dim compared to vanilla, but thats about it
acesv2 is too bright
Very true, but with a well calibrated display and enough time spent adjusting to both mods, I would guarantee the vast majority of people will end up choosing RenoDX
Simple / Intermediate / Advanced might need to disappear if people aren't using sliders
It's like weaning yourself off shit beer
was just first impresion tho now looking more at it with 1.30 exposure with different weathers and time i like more Psychov-11
@tame vault DC crashes on launch like it does for everyone, and pmnoxx isnt planning to update it since hes rebuilding his addon. Which build are you using that actually works for you ?
Interesting. An older one from a few weeks back and it's working beautifully
Will post version once I'm home
Reflex limiter with FG
is this game a bit darker in general? or is it only me thinking that ?
Looks great on my C2, but there is quite a lot else that needs to be configured between windows and the TV itself so its good that there are sliders.
usually i never have problems with hdr....
with this game its sooooo daaarrkkk
not blown out.... but its just too dark... is this by design ?
Yeah I thought so too before moving to RR and RenoDX.
this game sucks in both sdr and hdr
i tried sdr with 120 nits... still sucks.... if i crank up brightness. i have oversaturation
wtf
Which is why we're here 😉
Just increase exposure and game brightness in renodx settings to your liking. Still better than the native shitty contrasty hdr
It's very useful to get it too look similar when I'm using different displays between the same playthrough
whats the difference between increeasing paperwhite or exposure?
bright colors dont exist in ACES2
after or before tonemapping
should i incrase exposure ingame or reno ?
i mean the option. on boot Shadows/Highlights etc aren't visible
always reno
they don't show if you're on Simple
I don't remember what simple shows because I always change it at start
tbh i dont understand difference
why's that? isnt it smarter to increase ingame first before reno ?
in both cases you just end up with more avg scene brighntess
peak : game brightness is the range
before tonemapping, colors or contrast can be different
bigger ratio: higher dynamic range?
I cant get the game tomload with OptiFG enabled
so 80 paper white then and 10000 peak 😄
SDR is 0 to 1.0, and HDR is 0 to 4.0, for example
0.18 (midgray) stays at 0.18, so HDR is just headroom above 1.0
is it like "stops" in photography?
yes, though tonemapping isn't linear like exposure is
stops are log2 or log10 (i forget)
in photography we have exposure, and its linear?
how much exposure do you guys use in reno/ingame?
i like 1.5
doesnt that burn you eyes away ?
Ideally you'd adjust to your liking
true, but it has to stay reasonable....
no, i played in bright room though
1.25 / 50.
so its exponential
so reno is just a multiplyer ?
exposure is in linear. stops are way to express it
2x exposure = "1 stop"
but you apply it in linear
ok im a discord noob, how do i download the renodx now ? lol
didnt understand a word u said, but ok
there's no curve to adding exposure, you use flat multiplication
thats not gibberish for me, but i find it hard to imagine
if you ever see e in scientific notation, it's kinda the same thing 5e3 is 5*10^3 = 5000
where you use some other notation to "simplify"
In America we'd call that a 5-gauge
there's a whole aspect that your eyes don't see things in linear. cameras do and exposure adjusts a virtual camera. human eye is not exposure/linear based.
i put mine to 1,5 and standart ingame, looks good enough
yeah, i noticed that we see more variations in darker areas, than in brighter
the game is so graphically bloated anyway so it barely makes a diff
as long as reno reveales some detail in dark areas im good
what software do you use for the OSD overlay? to check dlss version and mini graph like frametime in a single line
our vision is logarithmic?
smth like this
this is the steam overlay.
i like rtss frametime graph but it's just huge overall
ty
RTSS is infinitely customizable
So if you're generally happy with the image but want more overall brightness, adjust exposure rather than paper white?
i was using it when i had msi afterburner now im forced to use gpu tweak because of the power+ alarms and pins ma checker on the 5090, thanks nvidia for a single 12pwr cable
i might get a 5090 lightningz at this point
I still don't understand what they were thinking coming up with that new connector lol.
i legit cant use the gpu at 100% power, two of the pins go above 9200ma and the alarm triggers
any cable, stock, new cablemods ones, etc.
98% will do the job yet it's triggering
I would like to know this aswell.
I've asked a few times but it seems to get dodged. Perhaps because it's not a simple answer for my simple mind
you dont want to raise paper white for sure afaik
plus whats the point to raise the overall brightness and killing the peak brightness? : o
its the same as dynamic tone in lg tvs
way higher overall brightness but peak brightness gets killed
so basically by increasing paperwhite, we increase brightness of "SDR" part of image, thus reducing range
And if we increase exposure, we "boost" light/brightness amount of whole picture and then hope that tonemapper does the job of not allowing to blow up whole picture? 😄
I already have enough of a delta between the two, with a 1360 nit peak. It's reasonable that want to increase brightness slightly if it seems dim
Lots of math and logic here. https://www.reddit.com/r/HDR_Den/comments/1rwvd20/about_hdr_paper_white_hdr_reference_white_level/
i mean until you're in the 1000 pb nits range its fine i guess
wait, we had a reddit? 😄
I don't want DT
have a 48 g5 here (this model only got released in eu) and can confirm the tandem oled is fully unlocked at 2200
I might switch to LG 77G6 end of the year from my 77C2.
vision is too blanket of a term, but how we perceive contrast can basically, maybe be logarithmic. that's https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weber–Fechner_law. that's means how we perceive "twice as bright". it's not 2x exposure. there's more log involved. the Contrast slider is that, uh somewhat. but when contrast and saturation are equally raised, it's just Naka Rushton . it's more S-shaped power law than logarithmic. very very nerdy psychovisual science
Which models?
Any progress with the fixes from Forge and Lazorr?
i mean ive stopped using it on pc cause 4k on 48-inch tvs is awful, im on the lg45 21:9 5120x2160 rn (and yet, getting 27'' 4k pixel count nostalgia)
LG G5 48, it's Tandem OLED
with DLDSR everything is better obviously but almost 7k res is nasty even for the 5090
however, DLDSR 2.25x + DLSS performance >>>>>>>>>> 4k native on that 48 panel
DLDSR + DLSS breaks my brain to think about. Maybe I should just try it and see
Why is 4K bad on 48"?
thats the final combo that should always be considered when buying a monitor today imho
(I've got 55")
Is the hdr mod out yet for crimson desert? Cant find it
it is a bliss on native 1080p monitor
Been gaming on a 42" 4K for three years, never thought about it once. Games today are already hard enough to run
it looks like full hd on a 24, just bad PPI, try 27'' 4k oled monitors and you'll see what I mean
Thank you
ive sold it just because i didnt want to trade immersion
Reinhard (yes that one) on how 203 is maybe not that great: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DdZTUXhaQpQ
203 is overall brightness you should have if you have 1000/1400 peak brightness monitors
270 if you have 2200 pb nits
^
this is true if you're around 2 feet away from the screen like a normal monitor, just back up
I use ~100, sue me!
honestly we use 0.18 internally more than anything, but 203 is the number if you just have to pick one. i do 100 nits if my lights are off, 203 when on and about 170 when dimmed
I loved this analogy.
Is there ever a reason to adjust the volume of your device when you are in a different environment, like at home using speakers or in public with headphones or in your car using your car's audio device?
Again: Yes.
Now read those 2 questions again and replace "volume" with "brightness" and "listening" with "watching" (also the devices, like "TV" instead of "speakers" and "smartphone" instead of "headphones"
there's a lot of SDR hold over, where 1 is a magic number
i mean yea, it depends on preferences
I almost always do 203 but it doesn't seem bright enough in this game. Especially when outdoors in the sun. Game seems to dim
and in this case 1.0 means 203
Same most of the time but I like it higher in Crimson Desert
I tend to use 100 nits even with my S95f
203 is the recommended number for translating SDR to HDR as a flat scaler
well, "one of the recommendations"
there's like 5 of them in bt2408 or was that 2480 or was that 2380? damn numbers
But doesn't that also depend on environment brightness?
Shortfuse, please - when would you opt to increase exposure rather than paper white? (Or vice versa)
just recommendations, you're also supposed to adjust gamma
i had mini leds back in time and they all were burning my eyes, never again, never had issues with oled overall brightness but i always play in my dark room (couple of very ambient light lamps and thats it)
but gamma is in r/g/b and that's already wrong. human vision isn't in bt709 r/g/b or bt2020 r/g/b
so it's all a hack anyway
a lot of BT is "can we stop arguing and just agree on SOMETHING?"
that sounds funny after 15h of DS in a row
😂
In the end everyone should select what they think looks best. Artstyle of the game, environment brightness, panel type and capabilities, personal preference, all influence what will be the best settings.
I spent like 10 hours trying to figure out what works best for my monitor for one specific game. 650 and 165 for re9
none of this is gospel. even 2.2 gamma correction. it's scientifically "wrong". but even when SRGB was designed and created it says "use 2.2 and it's a good compromise that will get us at least 70% there"
thats usually the best part of modern games
I give up 😅 I'm just gonna wiggle random sliders
it took me a long while to realize that my monitor reaching 1300 nits is just a marketing gimmick
its probably only on 5% window
2-3% window is "okay" according to the BT papers
1.5%/2
but TVs manufacturers usually don't allow peak to drop from 0-10%
Ah you're on the GX9? Yeah that 1300 nits peak brightness is just for a 1.5% window.
lmao
also the gx9 edid is wrong, you have to modify it
yes ive changed it through cru
Not anymore. Wasn't able to do CRU edit with my 4090 thanks to DSC but with the new Firmware Update from February it works.
ive put 1140, maybe should try 1200
I thought 0-600-600 was correct, then 0-1190-280, but now I’m on 0-600-280 with windows calibration and I believe that’s right
ah I haven't updated to the newest firmware
It reduces VRR flicker a lot. It's worth to upgrade. Also it fixed the EOTF Curve on high peak brightness.
sick, I'll update shortly then
Yeah I play like a competitive esports fps player
gonna see that shiny ant peeing at 1.5% pb
Nose is smelling the screen n shit
I almost always set 1000 peak brightness with 100-200 paper white depending on game.
i just disble hdr for ow, but i use the tandem oled 540hz, the rog one, 27
So guys what do you think is the best thing to do rn to reduce flickering globally ? DLSS 4.5, 4.5L all cinematics RR on or off ? any things to try in NV inspector ?
this screen definitely isn't the best, but I kind of became addicted to the size and curve
dlss4 to reduce flickering
Nah I don’t use hdr lol for fps
But how’s 720p? Is it worth
Even with 600 10%? How come?
GX9 you can't use HGIG afaik so the tonemapper is always on. With the better EOTF curve 1000 peak brightness feels right. Everything below will cost you some highlight detail.
i use it on ow because i stay in gsync range when capped at 600fps
Yup okay thanks dude
Nice I like 480 but I wanna upgrade my monitor soon. Tho idk if I want 27” since I like 32l
probably is
RR is the only thing that really has GI, so if you want GI then would use RR
Ideally you want to play games or watch movies in HDR in a pitch black room
nice graphics ... x.x I can't see shit
I bought lately 27 1440p qd oled panel from samsung but i dont know how to set up hdr correctly, Windows says its peak brightness is 400 nits when i enable it
I think I like 600 max nits so I can stay within the true black 400
Yeah almost always do that's why I like paper white to 100 nits.
if you have 480 or 540hz if you want to stay in gsync range you need to cap the frame way below the maximum monitor refresh rate, hence why 720hz mode is a bliss, but it looks like shit ngl
Which one?
even tho OW has a res slider inside so you can just raise it to 200
Anyways nerds
and it looks better
Dw I do that
pls add dlss5
I am on the verge of giving up lol
True Black certifications are mostly scam imho. Look up what 5% peak brightness you have and then select that if you have HGIG. If you have a monitor that enforces tonemapping just set it to the max capabilities of the display like 1000-1300 for the GX9
Odyssey OLED G5 27'' 144/180Hz QHD G50SF
what's Hammon and EON ? sry i'm a noob in modding terms
I have been able to extract all of their files and modify some things but the modifications don't seem to work as expected
or it breaks something
I dont have HGIG, but I have something else. MLA+ monitor, LG, idk what it is specifically. But I do 600 since that’s the sustained 10% and 5% with 400blaxl
Oo nice, I have the G60SD variant, you used the HDR Calibration App yet?
Will get you the base tone mapping correct as a start.
Black
and I haven't figured out how to truly modify files and change their size without the game throwing a fit
even different timestamps cause the game to say fuck you
I can modify the xml configs if I add exact padding to the original size with lz4 compression, but I can't recreate their exact lz4 compression
Brb driving
so its running a script to figure out how to pad each xml file to get to the right size

I used this windows app from microsoft store, i set black to 0 and peak brightness to 400 because the template was dissapearing at 400 for me but i dunno if its correct. Games seems to be more washed out when i enable hdr and i dont know if its supposed to be like that 🙂
I have the same monitor. HGIG is not a display tech, it's just that the monitor doesn't do tonemapping of the brightness, it just shows as it is and clips everything above the peak brightness it can achieve. When using the GX9 you always have tonemapping on since it doesn't support HW calibration for HDR. In that case you can theoretically set 10000 nits peak brightness and the monitor itself makes sure it tunes down the highlights so it fits in the capabilities. For that case I would always try to put the brightness to the max capability of the monitor e.g. 1000-1300. If you of course like it on 600, let it stay there. You will get a little less highlight brightness but a more stable less dimming prone image.
Did you check the OSD on the monitor for "Peak Brightness"?
*Its only accessable in HDR - that is if it has that option.
Mine is:
Off = ~970 nits
Medium = 500 nits (What I use - most even EOTF imo)
High = 1000 nits
I've switched to trying to hook the games poolsize/resource limit calls and increase the resource limits
Wasn't that a thing in CP2077 too? I remember adding new weather transitions in that game and it was a horror.
not sure as I came into that scene after there were full mod tools
Bless Wolvenkit xD
but yeah its pain, basically I have parsed out their custom formats, hooked the games crypto functions to capture 4000 keys that relate to specific files, brute force decrypt and decompress until valid xml
Jesus christ... Why can't they just use normal XML files?
based Korean's protecting their property
luckily the encryption is easily reversible
but there is some other file validation I am missing somewhere
Ive also tried modifying all of the trees to use LOD0 at all LODs
and.... they just stop rendering near and render minimum quality far
dont know if its related to resource limits or just the files are invalid
needs that maple story keyboard entry system
yessir
I tried making VRS render pass invalid and game just doesnt launch
also tried hooking the d3d12 VRS function and returning 1x1 and a null shadingrate image
didnt seem to do anything
I think disabling restir might work to an extent though
seemed less noisy but I didnt test for long enough
Maybe there's a global limit for how much can be displayed at once?
am currently exhaustively searching for everything related to resource pools and texture streaming
Vanilla - Reno defaults
i haven't started playing yet, but i would boost exposure and increase constrast+saturation, but i like it dark
base hdr is impressive, really nice job by the devs
these games were made for piss poor 250-nit office lighting LCDs
you think it would be possible to decouple RR from max lighting setting? max light takes 36% fps so its not usable really
that is not really why RR costs a lot
Are you interested in playing the game?
RR forcibly changes a bunch of stuff
@faint bobcat ETA eod today king? I’ll wait until you’ve made the tweaks to buy it and see if it’s for me or not
its definitely a big factor. if you turn off RR but Max lighting it is still a steep cost
i heard there were jetpacks and female protagonists
Boobies ofc
though the dude actually has hair, unlike standard male protagonist
Next hour or I riot
yeah HUB tested it and max lightning in comparison with cinematic costs 36%
TLDR if you want lighting use RR if you don't then yeah
games RTGI is virtually non existent without RR
which is increasing samples and turning on restir
i can't catch a fish to save my life. the instructions are crap.
completely separate from max lighting
It falls apart at night. Its just way to contrasty
yeah the base HDR is not very good
has anyone figured out how to get rain to show?
I fear decoupling it will result in a much worse image quality. The increased directionality with all the shadows and stuff like that isn't RR but the enabled ReSTIR sampler
It's very bad
AFAIK base HDR matches base SDR, which is also fucked
base HDR should mostly be pretty neutral. but... nobody likes neutral
does the test file work in SDR mode btw guys? Im looking more about just removing sharpness and CA
Whats the game with the best HDR out of the box?
Alan wake 2
maybe GoT? at least from what i read (haven't tried)
Control
FF7:R was pretty good too, from what i remember
RDR2 with the later added "Game" preset is quite good as well imho. (I probably get hated for this)
I am salivating for Reno + / forge edition 🤤
I always found Gran Turismo 7 absolutely amazing
it mostly is, just during daytime races the paperwhite is too low imo, sky looks unnatrually dark in HGIG
night races are crazy insane tho
Yeah, thats what I remember
@nova cargo will hunt you
That looks really beautiful
with reno installed, do i turn ingame hdr on or off?
on
ty
i recommended 70 contrast/saturation for psychov in CP2077
example of the GI without RR and with
as you can see basically entirely flat without
IMO, it's worth getting your environment right to get colors to pop
At this point why not just use probe based RTGI?
If there isn't already, it might be worth adding a note to the CD Reno Add On to leave in-game HDR on to at least lessen the amount of people asking. ^^;
game truly looks disgusting in any indoor shot without RR... but the cost is so insane, I have a 5070ti and have to fucking use ultra performance at 4k if I want 60+ before FG
720p gaming in 2026 basically
doesn't help that the game doesn't handle upscaling very well either
RR uses Preset D which is like DLSS 3.0 which doesn't help.
That's crazy. For what it's worth I don't mind 45-50 before FG in this game. It feels sluggish either way.
preset D is DLSS 4.0
Preset D/E are both transformer models
both preset d and e is transformer model
It wouldn't be so bad if we just got an updated RR that worked with the latest transformer model.
I haven't found an easy way to change the number of samples, maybe can investigate that next
Guess NVPI is lying then
trying to make LODs better
No, thats old CNN stuff. Only way to use RR is with the old models.
This is an older version of nvpi
yeah it has the sluggish RDR2 movement lol. combat feels better though and going much below 60 there is noticeable, I'd be fine with 50 but I'd have to lower the other settings A LOT to get there in performance mode. wish I could just set custom 40% resolution scale but the game doesnt like that, custom scales make the screen black for whatever reason
no, D and E are transformer
Are there any mods for the controls?
RR transformer model is already really big... An even bigger model would for sure hurt performance even more than DLSS 4.5 SR does.
NVPI revamped is more up to date with terms
RR is costly yeah, but really its just this game being particularly stupid
D is fine for this game I think
D it seems
That's what I am using
Are ray reconstruction changes in scope for RenoDX? Like will anyone here be “fixing” to use 4.5?
I found E being weird in this game specifically when doing certain puzzles that force you into first person
alot of artifacts
D is fine
there is no RR 4.5
fine D then
no thats on nvidia. heard full 4.5 release including RR will happen in spring though
Like it doesn’t exist as a technology atm?
big D
Either way. DLSS anything looks bad in this game. But I find that D is extra bugged. shrug
btw did you find the reason for those black smudges that randomly show up?
I just want the rain with RR fixed please... It looks like 720p for real even if my game renders internally at 2560x1080 🙁
RR is just transformer model dlss 4
I've noticed them alot since you posted that screenshot lmao
and does not over ride either
I know it’s preference but would you guys say RR looks good enough to forego using 4.5?
I think some of Forges work will help
they are so in your face when you start noticing them
is the RR removing rain a thing for real?
but dont get your hopes up, 4.5 is nice and all but its not making a huge difference in every game compared to K (best dlss4 preset). if you turn RR off and compare K to M/L there isnt a striking difference you'd notice if not exactly analyzing side by side
that is wild ahaha
which ones and where
displacement mapping is at fault
Documentation I'm seeing says that D is a variant of Preset A. I don't think it's Transformer model
No rain is there but it looks like shit... The worst I've ever seen in the last 10 years of gaming.
if you see edge screen shimmering
dude
thats displacement mapping
its dlss transformer
I can go in game and see if I can get a screen shot going
You have something I can read?
so is better off without rain??!! jaja
Where did you get that documentation from? Google AI suggestions?
Got it, so it’s not worth using 4.5 if I like the way RR looks. It won’t ruin the visuals elsewhere.
but Lazorr posted a screenshot of it yesterday
i want to buy this game so bad and at the same time i dont! havent have this feeling in soooo longgggg
idk, maybe its because im playing with custom resolution, 3072x1728, but 4 vs 4.5 quality is blur city vs no blur
Will Pearl Abyss be releasing mod tools?
The one that renders the clouds?
who knows
4.5 tends not to handle extreme flickering on the input
4.0 does but smears and ghosts
yh, their cloud raymarcher draw over things that should block it

would be a colossal waste if not...
4.0 is also noisy, but with less blur i can ignore it better, something im sensitive too
4.0 also removes specular and highlights
A game as expansive as CD seems like it might be perfect for the mod community to play around with.
Wasn't 4.5 in some games better when the denoiser is disabled? But their RT is probably so extremely noisy that even DLSS 4.5 can't cope with that.
Ah thought it would work for all RT effects. Sucks... RR it is than
if the GI is extremely flickery, then 4.5 won't hide the flickering as much
is worst if it doesnt have RR at least that what DF said, 4.5 with in game denoisers is a no no
well, GI/any lighting
I need to figure out a way to get a gaming rig set up on my deck so I can play outside. The weather is getting nice.
should we use 4.5 DLAA or even no DLSS at all and just native? what is best
4.0 DLAA or DLSS Ray Reconstruction if you have the headroom.
DLAA is best
Moonlight allows you to play your PC games remotely on almost any device.
ipad will do
I was just thinking that as soon as I wrote what I said. I have an ally, I can stream to that.
ipad for best visuals
I also have a hammock on my deck.
I don’t own a tablet.
I have a gaming laptop but it’s not ideal for cozy gaming in the space I have for it outside.
My laptop is so nice for what I paid for it. $500 4k OLED rtx 2070 maxq
10th gen i7.
just the game losing its ever loving mind at night in the rain (4K DLSS4 (performance) RR)
yeah they have weird surface effects in rain
so rain works with RR now?
Is that surface rain? I have the feeling RR with rain just pixelates the entire screen.
I haven't got a lot of rain weather
it seems to, especially near the end of the clip
is this pink flame you guys talk about? how can we fix it?
nvm didn't watch the whole video
I might be getting mixed up by thinking that RR Preset D is the same as DLSS Preset D perhaps?
I mean RR is on, take that as you will lol
last I saw RR removed rain fully, but yeah
Any chance of stoppong the absolutely blinding white flash on game load?!
pink lights are caused by the base game hdr
ACESv2 tonemapper
I think you are. They are not the same. DLSS Preset D is definitely CNN
older versions of NVPI had the terms confused as well, but newer versions have it updated
I know once I used a reshade shader that detect like brightness and inside it you apply other shaders, eg one that would reduce it, but can’t remember the name (the idea was to reduce brightness in some menus)
Yeah. I thought thought that the RR Preset was just handling the denoising and that DLSS Preset was handing the resolution reconstruction separately.
I didn't know that the RR preset did everything itself. mb
makes sense to be confused, the naming doesn't make any sense
ye RR is standalone, does everything itself
I also don't work in the programming industry of any kind. I just hang out around mod communities. XP
Got it. ty ^^
Yeah this is confusing since everywhere you look, it shows D and E as CNN.
with the WIP RenoDX for this game, do i need to enable HDR in game as well? or just pop the reshade addon?
DLSS presets not RR presets
good thing DLSS 5 will just be one preset
SLOP

dlss 5 will in fact save us all
It’s kinda crazy that we are at the point now that we think 4.0/Transformer 1 is mid, everyone has forgotten the CNN model that was praised for so long 💀
I'm beginning to think dlss might be confusing to people lol
None of this backend stuff was really meant to be visible to users anyway.
DLSS started as an anti aliasing solution but nvidia has since just started using it as a marketing name
the fact they even use the dlss brand for 2D frame screenshot gen AI is beyond me. Where exactly the is the super sampling in that?
CNN betta than trashformer
What? It always was an upscaler. It literally says "Deep Learning SUPER SAMPLING"
yeah, I was just meaning that because of all the presets and all the variants, it can get confusing for the layman
"DLSS" as a name should have stopped at Super Resolution and its evolution. All the other stuff shouldn't be linked to that name.
Crimson Desert is one of the games I would definitely use DLSS5 on … the NPC faces are a bit to be desired compared to the environment
in SR context preset D is CNN
in RR context preset D is Transformer
Yes, deep learning super sampling, super sampling is an anti aliasing solution
DLSS5 is the future of gaming.
It started as a garbage spatial upscaler, really
see I feel the opposite, environment very low quality but the faces are decent
Adding version numbers when features other than SS were added ruined the whole idea of ever being able to explain it to people.
lipsync is mid
@crude marsh could description of this mod provide any insight https://www.nexusmods.com/crimsondesert/mods/20
I am already able to decrypt, decompress, modify, and repack the games files
its just.... not very reliable
It’s kinda like KFC. It doesn’t stand for Kentucky Fried Chicken anymore, it’s just KFC. DLSS is just the name of their AI and upscaling suite at this point. Deep learning super sampling isn’t really an accurate summary of everything it does.
Yeah I just think that was a mistake
It wasn't a mistake from a marketing perspective and that's what counts
Confusing the consumer can be very beneficial for the company
I see it as the opposite. The ignorant masses still hate "DLSS" due to the features they keep adding and they think its all the same. Case in point, DLSS5. Now the incredible DLSS-SR (at least when used correctly) has another black mark on its name from normies who just think its all the same and DLSS5 is a joke.
I'm seeing this all the time. Bring up DLSS and immediately people do the equivalent of "eww I don't want AI faces". Then you have to take the time to explain no, thats not DLSS.. its tiring.
people still think running DLAA is a good idea (this game is different from the norm)
The masses see the DLSS on/off marketing videos from Nvidia where the number goes from 20 FPS to 300 FPS and buy a GeForce GPU.
In my personal experience thats not always true. Especially the last week or two.
I mean hell you still have the anti TAA crowd when its the baseline for every modern engine and DLSS does an incredible job even at half resolution
Isn't it?
It's better than TAA at least. (I know DLAA still uses TAA but generally has better results)
I think we're still in the minority. When you look at steam stats you can see what GPUs really sell and I don't think a lot of them ever even put out a tweet or know what frame generation is.
the fuck TAA subreddit is hilarious
Was thinking more how he can only modify stuff at runtime before the game encrypt anything, although it’s for the save file, not sure if similar for other stuff
ah yes, SMAA looks so good - sure, Jan
DLAA is absolutely pointless performance killer in the vast majority of games
this game just implements upscaling terribly
Is it not a good idea?
yeah I mean lets be honest they're all 1080p gamers for the most part, shoudn't really be touching any of this stuff
For like CNN model
personally, I can't tell a difference between dlaa and preset l on performance
DLAA cnn preserves highlights better iirc
Also DLAA with RR fixes all the problems people have with RE9s rendering
It’s expensive yes
But it fixes it
4.5 is quite nice if it wouldn't ruin half of the games with RT noise
I’ve gone back and forth at 4K and it looks really clean with DLAA when it comes to resolving detail, the noise is another issue
Isn't the noise due to the low ray count and mostly dimly lit scenes?
IBL sampling in interiors obliterates texture detail
Thin elements like wires and fences are still something dlss struggles with
Improves but doesn't fix, I used 75% scale for most of the game
IBL sampling off kills a lot of material properties and details in RC though
regardless the PT is just broken in RC
Regardless it still looks better than this
just imagine we're in the future where everything is wireless and fences are no longer needed ez lol
What
I haven't unlocked that ability
the fence noise is also due to the fog behind it being very noisy
Oic
that's my job
can please someone direct me to the download source for the early acces file please
sorry to interrupt
pins
yo thanks mate
Ive been trying to hook various things for a while
and not much luck so far, I think denuvo makes finding things a lot harder
What's your consensus on best visual settings for this game? What would you run?
Not advertising piracy but the guys doing Hypervisor workarounds saying that Crimson Desert Denuvo has quite a few new checks implemented.
fun times
DLSS RR Performance from 4K if you can afford it otherwise straight up DLAA 4.0. Make sure lighting quality is set to cinematic if not using RR.
for best lighting and for interiors to be manageable, RR with whatever you can manage fps wise
otherwise DLAA 4.0 yeah
Also iirc RR alr runs on FP8, same as DLSS 4.5, and has a higher cost right
I'm on 9800x3d/4090 , 3440x1440 qd-oled
game has too much lighting/GI noise for 4.5
I can, but its a bit uncomfortable in terms of fps
Maybe you can do RR Quality?
Not sure if it has been mentioned here, but the "No HUD and effects" mod on Nexus lets you turn off that debris that constantly pops in around the player
Yeah I'll try DLAA 4.0 + RR or Quality + RR
No no please not 😄 RR replaces DLAA/DLSS.
be aware RR is expensive but its because its actually forcing RTGI
not much RTGI without RR
Yeah forces Max
Oh
does way more
Got it, thank you
yeah, game by default uses extremely low sample count for GI

even on max settings
So is it possible to enable RR without this expensive rt gi, just to get better denoising?
not currently
What's the main difference between Psycho and RenoDRT?
Why is RR so expensive, they use no denoiser without or what
I think renodrt was based on ACES2 while psycho uses a completely new and more suitable tonemapper for gaming
GOING TO PLAST A BIG ASS MESSAGE EXPLAINING THAT RR FORCES ON RESTIR AND HIGHER QUALITY SETTINGS NOT JUST DENOISING. ITS NOT COMPARABLE TO "MAX" LIGHTING QUALITY WITHOUT RR OR ANY OF THE OTHER LIGHTING QUALITY SETTINGS. LIGHTING WITHOUT RR LOOKS ABYSMAL WHICH IS WHY ITS CHEAP
interesting. I think it looks fantastic in This game at least so far, looking forward to seeing it in some others
Why RR so expensive though?
bad devs
And then you gotta make it photorealistic after you optimise the shadows
Ohhhhh okay I can understand that now, why do they gotta make everything complicated 😭 but whatever drives sales I guess
Don't forget to mention it breaks the game if you turn RR off and leave the lighting at "max" found out the hard way
fixable?
i mean
maybe unlink it from forcing max lighting if that is possible so it doesnt eat fucking 50% fps
or anything else to optimize
???
holy fk 10 fps lmao
These guys must know something we don't

I have no idea what is happening here or if things are moving lol
btw is the exposure bump with the newer version the default setting? or is the "1.00" exposure now the equivalent of 1.25?
is default
time to fortnite slopify the game
That was just on my mind as I saw it was posted on Github, good thing I did revert it to 1.00 😄
how to download the reno dx for CD?
Yesterday someone was talking about HDR and I believe I saw someone say you need the game running in fullscreen for HDR in this game. Is that true or is windowed fullscreen fine too?
check the pin
check pins
got it, thank you
im in bordless windowed, seems fine to me
any idea why this looks grainy asf ? looks on other gameplay with same setings and don't happen ALL cineamtic DLSS quality RR on HDR on + reno
Hi, I've installed RenoDX (Reshade is injected via Special K) but changing the values doesn't change anything in the game. Can you help me? Thanks
@crude marsh babes can you check Terrain Shadow Map Boundary
They do a hard in / out for frustum. So either pixel is shaded or not for shadows
Theres no gradual fade in with the ToD. It just instantly pops in the shadows or makes them disappear

bruh
why
Never been able to get that to work myself, but with a normal reshade installation the sliders work fine. SK also lauches and injects fine too.
So is SK injection working for you?
looks like dlss enabler is getting updated for cd today
Yep. Just installed reshade through the normal installer, plopped RenoDX in the folder and launched the game using SK. Both Reshade and SK work together and haven't (yet) had an issue.
Ok, and that's fine for me too. Does RenoDX sliders work for you with this setup?
Yep, perfectly
So currently the best option is to have RENODX with RR + DLAA or RR + quality for a little more fps?
i play on Reno+RR+Balanced and im happy, 1440p ultrawide
I mean, I'm not happy with the performance with RR + DLAA or Quality so its performance for me. 4K / 4090.
just dont see a huge difference between DLAA and Balanced
Ok, then something is not working in my game 😅
And is there no solution for the blur with the RR?
Use lilium Rcas
been there, man. if reshade normal + Reno works, then you'll probably have to get help in the SK discord. Make sure to reset your ini
Is this all we need to move to the installaton folder?
assuming ReShade w/ Addon support is installed
why doesnt photo mode capture HDR?
your only usable options for capturing HDR in good PNG's is really ReShade (which you have already if you're using RenoDX, configure in the settings) or SpecialK.
i just used the photo mode and capture with SKIV
I had to make a custom preset between qaulity and preformance
Yep. Enter photo mode, line up shot, hide HUD and capture
isnt that just Balanced?
Hmm, I kinda have the feeling RR preset E is better in terms of lighting stability. Or am I trippin?
I mean between balanced and preformance
ohh i see
Definitely use rr e
I can't get custom quality to work. Tried to do 99% and it didn't go
Im just using optiscaler
Where can I download RenoDX for CD?
Ah. I was using NVPI.
I recommend optiscaler, to get rid of dlss sharpening
@faint bobcat dunno if location matters for you but the black smudge issue is consistent at the Wycliffe Mappery
seems to work fine in the Nvidia app
I never installed NV App XP
oh is that what we're calling it? I've seen this elusive beast.
And reshade with addon support
i seem to only see that 'smudge' when the lantern is on in my experience
what the heck they responded in the comments on my crimson desert review
i didn't see any others they responded to
ctrl+c ctrl+v
u guys game on peak100hdr or hdrgame mostly?
that's what i thought but i couldn't see any others that they responded to?
Without SK it works (standolone Reshade with addons). I've also updated the SK reshade with addons in SK Plugins folder
what are you referring to?
monitor mode?
I'll see if I can find anything after I fight with LG to update my monitor
Oh, I use an OLED TV, no modes like that. Wouldn't that be specific to your particular monitor in regards to what is suggested? Not every display is going to work the same as yours.
my bad, my monitor is aoc agon pro ag276qzd2
why is my screenshot looks more vibrant than my monitor 💀
@oblique mango I think that depends on your specific monitor. I'd assume without looking it up that "Hdrgame" is likely True Black 400 or something similar. I personally use HDR1000 on my MSI MPG 321URX, but allot of people use True Black 400. True Black 400 does not get brighter than 400nits while HDR1000 can go up to 1000 nits (or slightly over) as the descriptions say. HDR 400 is going to be able to get brighter in a bigger area of the screen and have more consistency typically. HDR1000 will have much brighter smaller highlights, but very bright scenes won't get as bright overall.
thanks for the explanation, so what is the min req for best hdr? hdr10+?
What's the best configuration for Renodx in Crimson Desert? I have a QN90D
can you help me?
I'm not the most technically savvy when it comes to HDR and I'm not someone who contributes to Reno so I don't want to give recommendations.
It is what I called it yes for lack of a better word
@oblique mango I'd recommend looking for reddit posts, youtube videos or something like that about your specific monitor or TV for more info and recommendations.
Ideally you'll want to enable Windows HDR, run the official calibration tool for 450nits (per your monitors peak brightness in a 10% window). HDR should be enabled in game then simply manage RenoDX through ReShade.
What HDR settings are you using? And what TV do you have?
I mentioned above I have an MSI MPG321URX, and I use HDR1000 with mostly default RenoDX settings. As I mentioned to the other guy you should look for reddit posts, youtube vids etc for more in depth info about your TV and recommendations.
tl;dr run the hdr calibration tool, startup the game with renodx installed. Can just modify settings within RenoDX from there.. it will read your peak brightness from what you set in the calibration tool and you can verify that in the Reno window.
@faint bobcat do you know why this happens lol
https://youtu.be/mM786JjmBSo&t=434
i timestampped it
Any way to fix this?
ur running better settings than me and i dont have that
yeah, I this is a random bug
in the sense that u are all cinematic i have a few on ultra, rest is the same
Rebooting the game now to check
I think the Discord overlay caused it for me, but I just disabled all overlays, meaning steam, discord and nvidia
wtf really? I think I have it off tho
How did you configure your HDR? you use OLED?
I've not seen that, also similar settings.
#1469072401450012774 message
remove full screen
@naive terrace DLAA helps, but you can't run DLAA + HDR without the black bar glitch. DLSS even at quality causes way more shimmering, especially in shadows indoor compared to native...
i do have some noise/graininess only sometimes and only on a few objects, like for example whenever the Smithy is Refining, i see some artifacts
Also DLAA+RR is unplayable even with a 5090 imo.
thank you bro
Is there an update for this yet or just using previous version of Reno?
current version, not previous
strange, i run RR+DLAA+Renodx and i dont have flickering bar issue
now the issue is gone after restarting the game lol
Is the one on the git updated?
Dayum. 4K?
the only time I'd see anything that looked like that was with RR off. Musta just been a bug
What black bar glitch? I'm running DLAA + FG + HDR and have no gitches
hmm no, 1440p
What FPS?
