A lot of the gacha's these days are born out of the need free spend VC money like the west had a problem. Though those were decided 4-6yrs ago when CN's economy wasn't blowing up. the world was in a "cash is trash mode". A lot of the gacha's being release today was spun off from the dev's frustration of not having a way to implement their pet projects.

Game (Unity) uses deferred rendering.
Deferred rendering separates scene geometry from lighting into multiple storing formats called Gbuffers. So you will have one for shadows, another for direct lighting another for reflections and so on.
In this context 'a deferred shader(s)' is one of the final stages in the rendering pipeline. It takes all of these gbuffers and composites them to render the scene
The game does a bunch of stuff
such as
not applying AO from other light sources
so local lighting and bunch of fake lights / hero lights that they added dont apply AO

like when a dev uses filmic tonemapper, cause it's how unreal recommends, you get wack effect in HDR vs SDR

those fx effects are just generated incredibly different on the engine based on the tonemap

The SSR improvements are visible in Dijang, and the AO looks nicer than vanilla, so I guess the mod is actually working now

My methodology didnt really work out. Basically, I just looked at the spiwar repo, checked which shaders the mod had modified, and then tried to find the same code blocks (felt like monkey job) in the freshly dumped and decompiled game shaders. Then I just asked clanker to compare vanilla vs mod and port the fixes over.
UI stuff was easy enough even without clanker (me stronk), but the AO stuff was a 100% pure slop (later Forge explained theres some fuckery with deferred shader decomp). I also looked into some shaders that were .asm and had no idea what to even do with that shit
hah ok, now i dont feel so useless
i used codex and honestly the only thing i really did was letting the clanker match the old shaders with the new shader dump with a scoring system
and it gave me pretty much all the correct matches
then i made multiple builds where on the specifics improvements exited in each,
told the clanker to move over the improvements onto the new shader logic
then did some manual testing here and there and figured out that the cbuffer changed and they added some new texture inputs in some stuff
^ the extra texture inputs fucked me up for quite some with the SSR as i was not aware of it
but once i figured that out everything else was fixed relatively fast
i didn't have to deal with any decompiling as codex just did all that stuff for me
yeah i also noticed that cbuffers were different in latest version and this coordinates or whatever also changed
coordinates i mean these xy. wz. and so on

to be more accurate it turned that stuff into bytecode and then compiled it into DXBC assembly

that screenshot was cherry picked, but it shows some harsh deficiencies when you stop moving. Those light-devoided textures are insanely low and ugly.
Flat is flat once you stop and smell the flowers, though in motion it's is pretty nice looking.

Well, fresh reshade.ini didn't make a difference. For some reason the yellow/orange lights in spiwar's version are messed up for me. Ratmin's one is fine though.

Spiwar merged my fixes and i believe cleaned stuff up, fixed sdr and updated the renodx base
he also updated the code so it uses mb functions from the main repo now instead of (i believe) their own implementations which maybe could affect color?
but it should give the same or a sameish result

since you're playing this in sdr
- use scRGB or sRGB encoding (on AMD)
- switch to vanilla
- remember to restart game

A lot of people will not admit it but they don't want to actually play gachas, they just want to gamble

Endfield's dailies are some of the least aggravating ones, you just navigate through a couple of menus and you're done, deliveries are mostly fluff after the first couple of weeks, the 90 credits you get from them amounts to basically nothing
or the game just isn't fun

endfield team building is much more interesting than other games right now
you can actually play around with different combinations and it's only going to expand more in depth in the future unless they start doing restrictions
it's more than just rotation and cutscene spam
not really, for all of the orginality of endfield battle system, it's amazingly shallow in key areas, being control, and character selection. For a game with no multiplayer, it lacks any type of incentive for controllable hero, besides having bare minimum companion support for it.
endfield boils down to 1 hero+ 3 supplemental addons, with the added headache of worse targeting, worse control, and worse resource management.
all the "worse" parts solely exist because they didn't have the foresight to fully test their combat system on a 4 hero system
A more mature game would have fully incorporated finer details such as either using time dilation mechanics or AI customization triggers, etc, much like how more RTS like game try to lean into "hero tendancies" to promote better team building (Blue archive for instance relinquishes all control of heros, in favor of AI tendances, aka front/mid/rear/cover/attk ranges/cover while fully leverging a share action skill resource bar)
I mean if you are really dedicated to squeezing out as much damage as possible against bosses there are some pretty insane rotations that I saw on YouTube. It isn't just spamming attack and abilities without thinking. But I do agree there could be more depth to it. Like assigning how passive or aggressive each teammate could be or in general expanding the stuff you can do in combat. The game is definitely not mature and if you take into account that this is the first Hypergryph game with a combat system like this it's really not that bad for their first attempt
Or well second attempt I saw in beta the combat was more strategic but players hated it so they changed it
I can see how slowing down combat for every ability can get annoying tho 
the gimmick of characters being out on the field wore off quick, and then i went right back to far preferring wuwa combat

The combat system, especially the companions' AI, could take an improvement, but I'll take that over a swapfest system any day, that kind of combat system is straight up a non-starter for me and I'm glad Hypegryph deviated from it, but there's large room for improvement

But regardless, the difference is endfield in diverging from that brought more baggage with very little benfits to the table, by doing so.
Time dilation for instance should have been incorporated into Endfield combat, because while your QA staff will hate you, it provides almost every benefit with very little downsides. Both targeting and character swapping mechs immediately gets a boast from slowing down time during those inputs. (it would also make ecounters easier, but only try hards would complain)
I thought everyone hated time dilation and the choosing where your skills land in the technical test and that's why they removed it

and that's why we got this mess of a not team based combat. They removed instead of refined. over used of time dilation is an issue, but so is having features you can't use because it's too clunky to use is also an issue

From what I heard Edministrator had more of a personality too in the tests but they just cut it out
