Hello! I am Stickat. I recently got Ending A & C and wow. This game is absolutely haunting. This game really scratches the itch Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom left me with after beating it. I love Rhell and all the characters so so much. Especially the Royal Sages design is fantastic.

With my short review over, here are some ideas and things this game needs.

  1. story moment sorting. It's a bit annoying scrolling down to story tabs in the pause menu to see which ones I haven't completed. Sorting by "Newest, incomplete, alphabetically" would be wonderful.
  2. instant spell casting. This is definitely an accessibility/QOL thing that would be nice. The game is very very fun with all the spells you'll be casting and casting doesn't take too long but one thing echoes of wisdom did very right was instant spell casting. This should definitely be switch on or off thing in accessibility for those who want it. I dont mean the spells are hitscan either, I mean Rhell should entirely skip the casting animation and just cast the spell immediately. All of that spell casting does add up.
  3. Pause menu default option. This is a very small thing, but having an option to always start on the "Rhell" page or the "Story" page would be a nice little option for cleaning up areas and finding what to do next.
  4. Rhell dabbing. This is a meme idea but it would be funny to have Rhell dab. Be it while spell casting or as a emote or something.
  5. oh oh! Also! Pressing left or right on the edges of the spell book would wrap you around to the other end. Same for up and down! It would save time on moving the cursor over to the spell! Not much time but I'm a man who loves itty bits of time. I'm not even a speedrunner! Just impatient!
  6. toggle to lock Rhell in place for spell casting. Holding in R stick to keep Rhell still is a bit rough. A toggle in accessibility to make hold to stand still into toggle to stand still would be great!

This is the help me catagory!

Right now, I'm searching for Ending B and D if it exists and kinda have basically all the important story items. Beesle has gone oddly silent, and Rhells hints don't help. I was willing to attempt to figure out what to do next and all I've found are the black spell runes on walls and colored spell runes around the world. I gotta say, searching for these runes has not been the most fun. Especially after having already exploring the entire world once. Having to do it once over is not exactly thrilling. A little gentle nudging at what to do next by beesle in the pause screen like for a lot of important story stuff would be very good. I know Beesle already has gentle nudging but on the surface they just seem like idle chatter especially since Beesle can just say "Hi!". Additionally I have zero idea what to do with the said colored and black runes splashed on the walls and floors. The only one I've figured out is the black time rune on the TV. I've spent at least 30 minutes trying to figure out what the heck to do with the black growth rune. As for how to more directly help the player I think having the map icons for areas where there are spell runes on the walls and floors, a colored or black splat would help cut down on looking for them. This might be too direct but I wanna know what you think!!!

ok so ending b involves putting runes found around the map (like the spa) and making a combo with them + the void rune

also you can scroll through the quests, the quests you'll need are like a the very bottom if i remember correctly? something to do with secrets i think? those specific quests (like the creation cube) have hints in their quests

Nah it's cool! I'm only missing one secret item which I assume is related to ending B. I have all the ||Leviathan parts|| and other items

Thank you though! I'll try tomorrow as I spent like a whole 2 hours looking through areas and trying to figure out what the heck to do 😭 I'm burnt out

yay thanks for all this feedback!! firstly realy happy you are enjoying rhell yay!!

and honestly i think all of those options are good idea!!
the only one that miiiiiight be an issue is the casting speed since some mechanics and systems are reliant on rhells casting speed :v like it being the same timing as automatons cast time
and the intent was for players to use the fast forward rune to speed up cast time
but ill have a think about a solution for that c:

other than that im always down for making rhell more accessibile and fun! so these are great suggestions c:

oh and with ending B it is thematically supposed to be a weird hard to find mystery :b
the story book has some hints in the mysteries section, and it generally doesnt require backtracking through the world and only || the areas near the 5 leviathan leviathan parts || are relavent to the mystery

There’s a speedrunner skip where you outrun your own spell and have it hit yourself to get to an area early

I've actually done this! Though it still doesn't fix the spell casting speed issue 😭

The one issue I have with this game is that Rhell’s animations are flipped, I mean like uhhhh… like whenever you go left or right, the book Rhell’s holding will always face you.

Yeah if you spin clockwise and face the camera, the buttons on Rhell’s hat are on one side. And when you spin counter clockwise and face the camera again, the buttons are on the other side

Oh!!!! Speaking of ending C! I just remembered that extra accessibility thing! Since C is a half step towards ending B and to me screams the player is hunting down every little item the compass should totally get upgraded after achieving C! Have it spawn pointers to items in a room the player hasn't collected yet would be nice! Alternatively, extending the mini map to show the entire area or properly follow Rhell around would be nice! The edges of the circular minimap sometimes cuts off edges of areas, so I was searching in Reef Ridges mirror world for a rainbow gummy for 15 minutes as the X for it was juuussttt off the mini map.
