Tada!

summer coyote
#

the legacy bot won't be needed in this server, but it was a good excuse to get a nice backup of the bot just in case slash commands has unforeseen issues

ruby shoal
#

That’s good to hear

summer coyote
#

once I update the bot, it may take up to an hour for the slash commands to appear, because discord reasons

ruby shoal
#

Do you have anything specific you want me to announce when you do the update

summer coyote
#

pinging @blissful trout here, so they know any communication I may not be awake for. Bilka has done a lot to keep the bot up to date.

Awesome! Do you need anything else from me right now? Otherwise I need to get out of bed and ready for work hahaha

summer coyote
#

Nothing for now, I'll just update the bot sometime in the next few hours, and if any issue arises I'll ping here!

#

and I totally understand getting out of bed (or lack thereof)

ruby shoal
#

It’s my first day back at work since surgery so not very keen haha

summer coyote
#

best of luck, don't work too hard!

ruby shoal
#

~~I never do ~~

I just spent a few hours making an animated avatar for blueprint bot, only to find out that bots can't have animated avatars.... facepalm1facepalm2

ruby shoal
#

Hahaha

#

Bots are weird. Shame it isn’t allowed to add support for that and some other things

summer coyote
#

okay, I updated the bot

#

🤞

#

hopefully the commands appear within an hour

#

you can see the commands if you private message the bot

#

might want to double check if there is anything preventing the commands from appearing

#

I can see the commands in my test server....

ruby shoal
summer coyote
#

worst case, may need to re-invite the bot for new permissions

#

yeah

ruby shoal
#

It’s going to be missing the permissions for application commands

summer coyote
#

if you PM the bot /info, it will give you the invite link

ruby shoal
#

<@&147248001025310720> can someone do/check this? I’m at work

summer coyote
#

discord why....

#

if re-inviting fixes the commands, I'll need to add a note for people to see....

#

of the servers I checked, only 2 didn't have the commands. Its not clear to me if it is a permissions issue or just have to wait

vital rampart
#

seems to work

vital rampart
summer coyote
#

hopefully

#

I suspect maybe there is some permission issue in common amongst the servers that don't have the bot working, but I have no idea. discord made it confusing

summer coyote
#

btw, there is also a right-click feature

#

everything seems to be working kamthumb

gloomy ember
#

Small issue I'm seeing is that it will eat any attachments passed to the slash command. Would linking to the original attachment in the bot's message be an option?

summer coyote
#

Hmm, I think I can do that

blissful trout
#

didn't you have a working thing where it linked the blueprint string?

summer coyote
#

If they do the right-click context command

blissful trout
#

That doesn't seem to be there either: #bot-stuff message

I think if you just re-add that it should be fine

summer coyote
#

Although, I could keep the attachment hidden, as an option for people that want to hide the string for whatever reason. Would people want that, or more likely prefer the attachment exposed?

gloomy ember
#

I don't see a reason to keep the string hidden if you are already sharing an image

summer coyote
#

Same message

#

When I clicked your link it sent me elsewhere

blissful trout
#

oooh, duh

summer coyote
gloomy ember
#

Usually clutter

#

Besides, if you want to hide it you can always DM the bot

summer coyote
#

Yeah, true, I can add the attachment link then

#

I'm thinking of adding the username at the top to every blueprint anyways, so I can do it where if you click on the username for any blueprint, it will take you to the string

blissful trout
#

I think that is not obvious, as evident by me missing it :p

summer coyote
#

I'll play around with it, lol

#

Discord almost got these slash commands right, but they didn't quite nail the execution
