Got an idea of what it says?
Got a transcript?
Interesting.. I got another one.
Puzzling friends :)
@green escarp @iron rune
Not sure if pings show in threads...
Assuming it's an actual puzzle and not just randomly spammed letters.
Well the letter distribution is basically english
XOCFE RFYSSZ DHTTDKT SPATNGX CGKVG BRCGTIK CHIHLBH YDYJRR YJBRADD EJCSTYU LNUIBWJ RVNIPH QQSNSY AEIUY RGRASU SPVGR```
NZXNP OZGTA XKWEU FKJTYW YQUJBXN ETVWJK NXANJ
ZBJPXT GPVWSK XKVQF GSBKTBT CYPSRZ FJXXZSA RVDISYQ
QRWPBC BVZUD LOCLWAR ICAJII PVRRQY```
I love how this is basically instant nerd snipe
hehe
ugh
It looks like most of 2-3 starting letters of the words actually resemble something, e.g. chihlbh, children. brcgtik, british? also similiar word length
Then we get to XOCFE
I'd focus on the QQSNSY term
this transcription is wrong by 1 letter, actual transcription below
KVJBYKJ HOJYCR BUHBPY XOCFE RFYUSZ DHTTDKT SPATNGX CGKVG BRCGTIK CHILHLBH YDYJRR YJBRADD EJCSTYU LNUIBWJ RVNIPH QQSNSY AEIUY RGRSAU SPVGR
there's not a lot of words with repeated starting letters in english
You'd imagine that there would be shorter words
Therefore, I don't believe this is direct substitution
QQSNSY could be llamas
Thats true
There are plenty of encryptions that give constant groups, but these aren't constant either
cyberchef gives nothing, most likely not substitution
obligatory: it could be a simple key cipher too
there are no żźąółę so no
ooo puzzles
Google translate is saying this is in English, so my eyes must not be working properly
lemme find the website for simple ciphers
isn't this just spam? and constructed text to evade bayesian filter?
Perhaps
it does look like garbage tbh
so do storage sheds
Maybe. But we, (begin heroic music) as the puzzlers of the Factorio Discord, have a moral obligation to attempt to decode this cipher!
I'll be going through all 26 possibilities for the caeser's cipher, wish me luck.
Nothing there
theres no way the spaces are correct
im going to declare this hunt "pointless" and do something else now :P
You could also download that mysterious file attached to the first email.
I'm sure it's harmless.
how to cause a billion dollar incident, step 1
And cat it, because you're obviously running Linux
Is this how Facebook went down last night
well, if we assume the spaces are in the right place, then YJBRADD is also a big clue: 7 letter word with repeated letter at the end
Out of curiosity, did you randomly recieve this email or is this from someone you know?
on a scale from 1 to 10 how much work do you have :P
What's the sender email address?
Peter Monzon <uyeyagat@gmail.com> Floriane Alberta <hgoxunoluq@gmail.com>
either those addresses are keys or its bs
Isn't it trivial to fake a sender email
That's detectable
Lol. Quite a bit.
...I was expecting -4
the sending server would presumably spot it
How much obscure email protocols are there even
But I mean, spam creating gmail accounts isn't exactly a difficult task either.
very puzzling, i dont understand a thing here
no fun cryptology puzzles :(
