#NEED TRAIN HELP
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Signals break the rail into blocks. If one block is occupied another train will not enter until the block is empty
That's it
when holding a rail signal, it will mark the blocks with lines of differing colours, then use the above info to try and split the rail up logically.
generally, something along the lines of having one signal before an intersection, and one after it will work
base on your diagram, it looks like trains go both ways (bidirectional)
this means whenever you place a rail signal, you need another signal on the opposite side of the track in the same spot, the location will be marked when you go to place another one
Can you pull up a drawing or image
I still dont understand
try placing a pair of chain signals at both ends of your train stop parking areas
4 chains per train stop
what? Then my trains would meet and they'll hit each
Or im reading this wrong
I would appreciate a image
no, they will not
it's a signalled system
trains will not enter another block that is occupied or reserved by another train
if they can't do that, they can't collide
I have 2 trains on 1 track, how will they move if the train infront of them cant move either
is your main line going through your station?
Send the print you sent there but while holding a signal and without annotations please
if your stations are on your main lines, put them on sidings instead
if they arn't, then you should already be fine
pathing trains through stations that arn't for them is generally a really bad idea
can you help me
ive been messing with rail and chain signals for hours now
the outcome i get is the train would alert me that it can't find its destination
yeah ive made loops so they wouldnt go to the stations arent for them
so you've got these two coloured trains, do both of them stop at this train stop or only one of them?
each train has their own unloading stop but only ONE loading stop
so ive built them on 1 track so that they can be loaded with my ONE loading stop
So both of them stop at this stop thats in the middle, just double checking?
i cant figure out the rail and chain signals so they wouldnt crash into each other
the one with a bunch of assembling arms containing coal yea
they load up in coal there
its hard for me to visualise this without being able to actually edit things myself so bear with me
On this left hand loop, start by placing one rail signal on each side of the track, directly opposite each other, on the straight part just on the left of the loop
red arrow has a train going in that direction to UNLOAD
blue arrow has a train going in that direction to also UNLOAD
And then on this side, place a rail signal again on both sides of the track in the same spot, just on the left of the big power pole.
fuck they just crashed right now
show the updated rail with the station bypasses
this is why you use signals 🦆
a pair of chains before and after the parking spot at each station
the what
the updated rails that you mentioned
where they don't go through the stations not assigned to them
no
the station theyre assigned to works fine
the rail and chain are the ones i cant figure out
yeah, it's fine if trains go to their own station
once i actually put down rails and chains signals, the train would start alerting me that they cant find their destination path
but show the updated rails that allow the trains to get to their destination without going through a station that doesn't belong to them
they havent updated their rails, this station in the picture is accessed by both trains
chain pairs before and after the parking spots at each station will not cause that
the rails here need updating
how can i update my trains?
so you didn't actually do this
go do it now
not the trains, the rails
what? i got loops there in the picture
this is like pulling teeth
this is a station
does a train not belonging to that station path through that station
ive got 2 trains go to that station so they could load up in coal
and then unload to their own seperate unloading station
now how can i get them not hit each other
one that doesn't belong to that station?
only 2
craft 12 chain signals
select them from your inventory
click in the world to place them next to a rail

there are so many little green boxes that show up, it's child friendly
once you've placed one, a white box shows up
put one there too
like you've somehow managed to place rails, turrets, walls, trains, belts, ...
signals are the same, craft and place them
it's nothing new
im sorry bro im dum
follow the instructions
that's before the station, inside the parking spot
that will not work
you will need to move the diagonal rail to a better location
or move the station itself
want me to make the diagonal rail into a straight line?
what white box
the one being hidden by the diagonal rail that i told you to move
holy crap i see it
try picking it up
i did i t
we're now playing peekaboo
...
well, good luck
it won't work in current state
follow instructions and it will work
bro im too dumb for this
you can make your rail a lot simpler by doing something like this
ive been following instructions
not yet
oh crap hold up im gonna do this
move the diagonal, put in the proper 4 chain signals, move on to the next station
yo i did it
where do i put rail signals
nothing to put here?
you could even remove the 2 eastern chains if you wanted to, leaving it as just the 4 in the west
no
@native trellis @kind tangle HOLY SHIT IT WORKS BRO
thank you so much for the help and for bearing with me bro
thank you so much for this visual image you drew up bro, made my whole rail system much simpler and easier
