how do i get the trains not hit each other

#

ive seen chain in and train stops out type shi, but i still dont understand

Signals break the rail into blocks. If one block is occupied another train will not enter until the block is empty

#

That's it

kind tangle
#

when holding a rail signal, it will mark the blocks with lines of differing colours, then use the above info to try and split the rail up logically.
generally, something along the lines of having one signal before an intersection, and one after it will work

#

base on your diagram, it looks like trains go both ways (bidirectional)
this means whenever you place a rail signal, you need another signal on the opposite side of the track in the same spot, the location will be marked when you go to place another one

I still dont understand

native trellis
#

4 chains per train stop

whole loom
#

Or im reading this wrong

#

I would appreciate a image

native trellis
#

if they can't do that, they can't collide

whole loom

#

is your main line going through your station?

hazy raptor
#

Send the print you sent there but while holding a signal and without annotations please

native trellis
whole loom
#

can you help me

#

ive been messing with rail and chain signals for hours now

#

the outcome i get is the train would alert me that it can't find its destination

whole loom
kind tangle
#

so you've got these two coloured trains, do both of them stop at this train stop or only one of them?

whole loom
#

so ive built them on 1 track so that they can be loaded with my ONE loading stop

kind tangle
#

So both of them stop at this stop thats in the middle, just double checking?

whole loom
#

i cant figure out the rail and chain signals so they wouldnt crash into each other

whole loom
#

they load up in coal there

kind tangle
#

its hard for me to visualise this without being able to actually edit things myself so bear with me

On this left hand loop, start by placing one rail signal on each side of the track, directly opposite each other, on the straight part just on the left of the loop

whole loom
#

red arrow has a train going in that direction to UNLOAD
blue arrow has a train going in that direction to also UNLOAD

kind tangle
#

And then on this side, place a rail signal again on both sides of the track in the same spot, just on the left of the big power pole.

whole loom
#

fuck they just crashed right now

a pair of chains before and after the parking spot at each station

native trellis
#

the updated rails that you mentioned

#

where they don't go through the stations not assigned to them

whole loom
#

no

#

the station theyre assigned to works fine

#

the rail and chain are the ones i cant figure out

native trellis
#

yeah, it's fine if trains go to their own station

whole loom
#

once i actually put down rails and chains signals, the train would start alerting me that they cant find their destination path

native trellis
#

but show the updated rails that allow the trains to get to their destination without going through a station that doesn't belong to them

whole loom
kind tangle
native trellis
#

chain pairs before and after the parking spots at each station will not cause that

native trellis
whole loom
#

how can i update my trains?

native trellis
native trellis
whole loom
native trellis
#

this is like pulling teeth

#

this is a station

#

does a train not belonging to that station path through that station

whole loom
#

ive got 2 trains go to that station so they could load up in coal

#

and then unload to their own seperate unloading station

native trellis
#

that's fine

#

are there any other trains?

whole loom
#

now how can i get them not hit each other

native trellis
#

one that doesn't belong to that station?

whole loom
native trellis
#

place the bloody chain pairs already

#

you do that and you're done

whole loom
#

how do i do that

#

do i also do those in the loops i made

native trellis
#

craft 12 chain signals

#

select them from your inventory

#

click in the world to place them next to a rail

whole loom
native trellis
#

there are so many little green boxes that show up, it's child friendly

#

once you've placed one, a white box shows up
put one there too

#

like you've somehow managed to place rails, turrets, walls, trains, belts, ...
signals are the same, craft and place them

#

it's nothing new

whole loom
native trellis
#

no

#

you did not follow instructions

native trellis
whole loom
#

im sorry bro im dum

native trellis
#

follow the instructions

whole loom
native trellis
#

that's before the station, inside the parking spot

#

that will not work

#

you will need to move the diagonal rail to a better location

#

or move the station itself

whole loom
native trellis
#

if you want?

#

just put the chains in

whole loom
native trellis
#

the east side is still incorrect

#

remember, white box

whole loom
#

what white box

native trellis
#

the one being hidden by the diagonal rail that i told you to move

whole loom
#

holy crap i see it

native trellis
#

try picking it up

whole loom
#

i did i t

native trellis
#

we're now playing peekaboo

whole loom
#

i saw a white box then put one there

native trellis
#

...

#

well, good luck

#

it won't work in current state

#

follow instructions and it will work

whole loom
#

bro im too dumb for this

kind tangle
#

you can make your rail a lot simpler by doing something like this

whole loom
#

ive been following instructions

native trellis
whole loom
#

oh crap hold up im gonna do this

native trellis
#

move the diagonal, put in the proper 4 chain signals, move on to the next station

whole loom
#

where do i put rail signals

native trellis
#

don't

#

that should work as is

whole loom
#

nothing to put here?

native trellis
#

you could even remove the 2 eastern chains if you wanted to, leaving it as just the 4 in the west

#

no

whole loom
#

@native trellis @kind tangle HOLY SHIT IT WORKS BRO
