#[**Underground Belts Use Transport Belts

Thanks lol
here's hoping it gets more traction than mine LOL
What? I'm not deranged!
Isn’t that just AUP?
no because actual underground pipes can bend
What? Underground pipes actually require... pipes!?
Piecewise Undergrounds builds undergrounds and consumes pipes based on how long they are, instead of just requiring some for the recipe (because how does that make sense). It fully supports bots, modded pipes, pipe braiding, fluid shenanigans, rotation, undo, redo, NPT, CCP, and more.

we started building the mods independently around the same time
Perhaps the actual undergound pipes/belts should take 2 instead of 1. You already get the benefit of more space above ground, it should cost something?
wdym?
also for AUP or this variant of undergrounds, they're two different design spaces
I mean from a gameplay perspective, that undergounds in general should be more expensive compared to on-ground
because of all the free building space you are gaining on the ground surface
Vanilla express underground belts are actually cheaper when built at max length
10 express belts is 315 iron and 200 lube, but 1 express underground covers 10 tiles and costs 258 iron and 40 lube
With this mod, a max length express belt becomes 353 iron and 220 lube
So what you said isn't consistent with vanilla factorio balancing
it makes less sense to do that for aup when you consider it doesnt give you much more space since they cannot cross anymore, and for this, well, i mean its logistics setup costs it can be sky high and you would build it anyway cause why do you care how much it costs once its built its done
Also making each one take 2 belts is just an inventory hassle. I think it would be easier to make it consume underground belts for each tile
Then I can adjust the cost of the underground belt recipe
most people still use blue/green belts for really slow things like malls just because they're there. even tho its more resource efficient to use lower tiers
Huh? Blue/green is slow???
What mods are you playing lol
I did think about making the underground belts use 1 per tile
It would probably make more sense, but I didn't want to make people carry hundreds of underground belts in addition to hundreds of transport belts
referring to the mall which would not need the throughput that blue belts provide
