Half of the entities remind me of the steam/copper age buildings in IR3, those did essentially the same thing. Inserters and assemblers (+mini assemblers) all running on pass-through steam. Was quite a nice mechanic.

even the stone furnace has steam connections...

wait why does the small steam miner have connection ports in the middle of 2 tiles
that seems like a bug

ebon crown
#

also the offshore pump doesn't have a steam input port

#

and neither does the boiler

placid copper
#

they cant have because its too weird

ebon crown
#

the offshore pump can have a steam input port though
it's just that it would cause softlocks if it were the only option

why does the steam turbine accept steam ?

#

don't you want to do something else with it ?

#

or nothing at all.

#

After all, who needs electricity

#

when you have steam

Steam engine generates more steam from steam

analog comet

this is the way

cinder inlet
#

steam engines are solely for powering lamps

chrome python
#

Lamps should also run on steam

I thought beacons were forced to be electric

I think @tiny spear was making a custom powered beacon mod

tiny spear
#

indeed :)

#

thats the library mod, there's an example for each alternative energy source included

#

this mod turns all beacons into burners, you'll likely just want something like that but with a fluid energy source

azure jungle
#

finally, steam-powered boilers

#

I thought the fluid enenrgy source beacons still didn't work

tiny spear
#

they're still iffy

#

that one bug is causing a lot of chaos

#

but temperature differentials still work

tiny spear
#

let me know if you have any issues :)
