I've been trying to play factorio but my adhd brain refuses to play a seed that isnt really good so ive been getting stuck in a loop of restarting after placing a few steam engines
does anyone have a good seed or solution to this problem?

you can press the "show preview" button before actually loading into a world

is there any way to change the shape of ore nodes?

well you can change the size, but shape is dictated by an algorythm in the background
you would need mods to change shape

Ore Patch Organizer

Cut/Paste your ores and oil.
Move your resources closer to your base, reshape to allow better blueprints, or condense/expand ore patches to allow more/less mining drills.

You really wont know whats good when new
Id reccomend default and a forest with minimal overlapping patches other than that let the logistical challenges BE challenges

Also please dont just default to mods

They can easily become crutches and it's best to learn without crutches

First playthrough really should be without any mods.
