#40h achievment

make as small a base as possible
my bases in my 19h run were literally like 10-30 machines each
it’s pretty simple tbh, nauvis is the only place that matters the other planets you build solely to produce what is required and nothing else
ig then im just way to in efficent or get sidetracked to much?
what I did was build 60spm on nauvis then just divert everything else into rockets and platform construction
its not like im new to the game and i only did the old 8h achivent in a multiplayer i still think i may never have gotten that otherwise
so basically I had all of my platforms ready to go by the time I was actually doing those planets
I had one ship that carried my character and starting supplies to new planets the others just took science and essential buildings and brought them to nauvis
the most i struggle with is how do i really tell minimum build for ships i eiter underbuild or overbuild alot
vulcanus and fulgora are both incredibly easy to set up, for vulc you just need a bunch of discharge defenses to kill the one demolisher guarding the tungsten patch and power is infinite and jumpstarts fast since you go from pumpjack to chemplant to 500mw of steam turbines
I'd recommend going into editor and testing out what you need
for ships especially but also just normal builds on each planet
I just made a ship blueprint that worked for fulgora and copy pasted that for the three starting planets
then a special one for Aquilo
Then one to get to edge of system
all the ships I used were designed beforehand and 3/4 of the sciences were too
I found that the nauvis phase was the most important tbh
like you do actually want nauvis to be fairly robust
i mean rebulding when you get the planet excluseive stugff takes lots of time forme atleast
That’s the neat part…you don’t
I didn't even use planetary buildings on nauvis
other than biolabs
I didn’t even do that
okay then thats my problem i just MUST rebuild cause i feel im loosingout if i dont -.-
it’s inefficient but we don’t care about efficiency in a speedrun you want…speed
simply N+1 normal machines
I didn’t invest in t3 assembler either
no beacons
no nuclear
jesus
i mean yoou dont really need nulear if you dont beaconscale for along time
I had 400mw of steam power
you unlock turbines, heat exchangers, and heat pipes from unlocking heating tower
uhh…400
yeah heat towers
440 or so actually
never tryed usingem pon nauvis lol
I just smeared a tileable steam setup in a line and pumped it full of excess solid fuel
I was pushing out like 80 refineries of oil processing at peak
well that was excessive I probably never used more than 20-30
but I just spammed hard and thought never
it was…heinously ugly, but i was done building platforms for the whole game before I arrived at gleba, Aquilo was a challenge but I just brute forced it with my massive production capacity and 20-30 rocket silos
in regular playthroughs players generally build factories that are intended to last for a very long time
in speedruns you build shit that will just work and avoid major refactorings cause that is a major pause in your pace
your factory should be constantly approaching its production limits and very rarely idle
speedruns are already under 9 hours, probably the best place to learn
xD that is soo hard to do that
Reject order, embrace chaos
I did some really cursed stuff in my run
It doesn’t need to look pretty it just as to shamble on long enough
I built my base from south to north, I decided I needed more steel production so I pasted 4 steel stacks at the north most end of my base, then belted solid fuel all the way through my base to the steel stacks since those were building solely space platform
It didn’t matter, it worked
