#I'm having trouble figuring out how to use train stops

to make them not collide you need to use rail signals
well, id do a second railway like on second picture, otherwise you can make it work with the current setup if you're ok them waiting each other to pass the long line
thats what i want to happen
i dont mind waiting but i have no clue on how to use the rail signals
when i try they either stop working or collide
yea ik that but how
like this on the intersection
yep
this will seperate your grid into three blocks: the top, the right, and the left
okay ill try oit
thanks
also are those all rail signals or are there signal chains there aswell
cant recommend ever using paired rail signals
Ill note on a system as basic as this rail signals are fine
But I'd recommend getting in the habit of if it's a bidi track only using paired chains
i dont know what that is or how i would go about using it
thanks though
bidirectional rails i assume---
the first option i suggested was = you have basically 2 rails usually parallel to each other for both directions, either west-east or north-south
its like a main bus, then you can branch off one path to ore patches
or u can branch off two too...
You're using bidirectional rails
The person suggested paired rail signals, and while thats fine for simple networks it WILL cause problems later and we call paired rail signals deadlock signals for a reason
Paired chain has no downside unless you're doing really complicated shit 99% of players won't do, and won't deadlock
okay
They are used for single tracks running in bi-directional mode.
but like the others said
if you want to add more stations/trains you will need to use something else
they can also be used to read whether the previous block is currently occupied
