yeah same fuel for the amount of power you get
manual nuclear reactor setups
one fuel is still worth the same amount and it consumes it faster
you can use a blueprint to build it with 50 fuel inside. so you would have to reset this every 250 minutes or 100 minutes with legendeary reactors
however the power density is enorm
one chunk can fit 36 reactors and has some space left
Just have an alt account character be putting fuel cells with an autoclicker /joking
a 6x6 reactor setup would make 6.240 GW and would fit inside a chunk
you can do so with bots
you dont need manual hand insertion
you only need to replace the blueprint every 4 hours and 10 minutes if you use normal reactors
You'd need to use renai transportation or recursive blueprints then
4 hours is a long time
if you add a speaker you can jsut get reminded
the heatup in this configuration is almost instant
Ok, one small issue. Heat pipes are throughtput limited, they can barely transfer heat to enough heat converters to use all the heat of full neighbor bonus 2xN legendary reactors
(I did the math before)
The outside reactors will need so much heat transferal that heat pipes may or may not be enough
(didn't calculate it yet, you should to check just in case)
that could be a problem
I did this assuming one heat pipe line per reactor to leave enough space to belts in my build, so your mileage may vary
Ok so your 6x6 reactors will make 8680 MW. With 26 lines of heat pipes being able to come out of them (using my own heat pipe reactor design method) you would output about 333 MW per heat pipe line which allows 7 heat pipes per line for a total of 26 × 7 / 3 = 60 heat exchangers
Less than 1/10 of what you need to consume all that heat
Now if all heat reactor outputs were used, that's different because you have 80 outputs that can extend up to 60 tiles each
Don't know how you'd layout that though
