Is it normal to have scrap on such a small island?

reef light
#

yes. the smaler islands usually have much more scrap than the larger ones.

😭

reef light
#

you can transport scrap via elevated rail to a more spacios island for processing

dense cedar
#

oooooooh that's a nice idea

#

do you think i can manage to cram in 30 sciecne / min

#

on my island

reef light
#

its probably easier in the long run to just expand

#

but i dont know the ratios and space requirments to know the possible rates

#

having manufactoring on a seperate island also alows u to import scrap from multiple places

#

in case one is used up or not enough

dense cedar
#

on another note, do you know if it's possible to transfer over electricity to that small island

#

the power poles don't reach 😭

reef light
#

only with late game foundations

#

but lightning rods make power acessable everywhere

dense cedar
#

Yeah the issue i have tho is that it isn't even nearly enough :(

reef light
#

its easyer to just have sperate powergrids for each island

#

the larger the island the more powerpoles fit

#

and lighning collectors

dense cedar
#

ooh lightning collectors are better?

reef light
#

yes, also they are upgradable with quality

#

just collecting more lightning was always enough for me

Large islands have space but no scrap
Medium islands have a mix
Small islands have no space, but many scrap.

You'll want to make some elevated rails, and to have your small scrap mine islands have their own lightning collectors.

You also can use ice and solid fuel from scrap to get some steam power going.
Solid fuel is wildly plentiful, and ice usually is obtained in excess as well. You'll have to get rid of it somehow

Accumulators also have 100% scaling per quality tier. So an uncommon accumulator is worth 2 normal accumulators. You are meant to try and get some combination of uncommon and rare accumulators to help with power, given you can trivially make them.

Much easier to ship to another island

Yeah, until you get foundations you're gonna have to make peace with the limited space each island has. There's only so much production you can feasibly stuff on one of those, and if you're dealing with scrap you're dealing with at least 12 separate items and you probably only want like 4, and they're the less common of that bunch.

The science pack overall needs (between the various crafts) green circuits, batteries, holmium ore AND plate, plastic, copper plates, ice for cracking to light oil and making holmium solution, iron plates, and stone. Everything else is probably gonna be returned unto monke.
