Do speed modules actually work with that? I would assume you are doing the speed-up using the hidden speed beacon, so the speed module should be useless.
I would block then from the recipe.
Why shouldn't it work? You can of course put speed modules in both a machine and beacons around it.
Since the hidden beacon should give massive amounts of speed, it would just be useless.
It's like putting prod modules in late game miners. But it's still viable in early game. In this case the beacon doesn't give speed bonus when you are not close to the sun. So why forbid speed modules in such cases? Let the player decide what makes sense.

Nah, but my plan is for them to work sort of like beacons.
You can place multiple and the effectiveness is split between each one, but the total effectiveness goes up
1 plant -> 100%
2 plants -> 60% each -> 120%,
Etc
