Hello, I'm somewhat new to Factorio. This is my second playthrough (base game only, space age is disabled).

All in-game achievements are disabled and I cannot figure out why. I am not using any mods, and I am playing the Railworld map on free play. See attached screen shots.

I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling the game, but that did not help. Why is this happening? How can I fix this?

That's odd. You didn't edit the railworld settings before starting the game?

Using any Lua command or opening the editor from the menu in game or with command will cause this.

I changed the map type to lakes, I made the resource patches 50% larger, and increased the biter-free starting area. From what I understand, this wouldn't have disabled all in game achievements. Or did I not understand the menu info?

Those settings should not disable achievements.

Cool, ty, I didn't think so

#

Not sure what happened then.

Check that achievements are enabled for a fresh/new start. Just start a game with any settings and check the achievements are enabled. If not then this is likely an account/install issue.

I'll try that now

Achievements are available in the new game.

My only guess is that somehow you either ran a Lua console command and ignored the warning (so ran it twice), or that you accidently went into editor mode.

I don't know how to run a command in this game. I just started playing it a few weeks ago.

Ironically using mods does not disable achievements. This can be exploited by using a mod to cheat progress and then disabling the mod to easilly get achievements.

` key (on UK keyboards). Opens up the chat.

#

Editor has a menu button, so might be a cause you pressed that to see what it does.

#

You can check previous saves and auto saves in case you can get one before achievements were disabled.

Otherwise, I recommend starting a new game. People often do this a bit when new anyway as they can approach things better on subsequent playthroughs.
