#Keep playing 1 year old save or restart?

So the 2.0 does not integrate in to my save game file?
hmmm i heard they add some migration for old saves, so i think you can still play them
but some recipe got changed, even on vanilla 2.0. so even if youre able to load your old save, you still need to rework your old base
I see.

In some future Factorio update when we decide to drop 1.1 savegame compatibility (Let's say 2.1), we will eventually get rid of the old rail shapes completely.
so your old save will work, but not necessarily forever
Yeah, I'm not too worried about my rails. It was just my first attempt and it's not that long.
That would be quick to replace with 2.0 rails I guess.
RCU gone
dang you beat me by 1 second
("rocket control unit" if you cant figure out the acronym)
I'm nowhere near that I believe, it was my first playthrough, I'm just starting with oil refineries. 🙂
well if thats the case, afaik theres not much differences up to blue science
maybe rocket launcher ammo recipe if you already had one
I think rocket launcher ammo requires explosives, and I doubt they'd have that if they're only just now starting on oil refineries
I just got some stuff to clear cliffs I think.
yeah if youre only at that far then you should be good to just continue it
Yeah, I can easily replace my legacy rail with 2.0 rails I see. I think I'll just give it a go. Thanks, people. 👍 😄
If playing base (not SA) then continuing is quite viable with just a few minor changes and fixes for new mechanics like space science and pipes. If wanting to play SA it is recommended to start fresh for the best experience.
SA will still work on older saves, but some things might not make sense and it certainly will be a less polished experience.
