Ok Community, so still new and still on the strugglebus of trains.

  1. I got a simple loop going on within my network. In this case a Coal Export Station + Coal Import station(main base)
  2. I have 2 trains dedicated to the route I want to make, to ensure there is always coal.

My problem is as shown on image

  1. Train A is getting fully loaded before train B is done unloading at main base.
  2. This causes train A to roll up and wait behind it on the station. Which in turn is creating a backlog of trains behind it.

My question and tried in the general chat.
Is there a way where I can add to the logic of the train so they are NOT departing (even if full) if the coal drop off station in main base still has a train unloading.
i.e. the full train would just sit and "be ready" at the mining station until the main base train has fully unloaded and left the station.

Set the Coal Unloading station "Train Limit" to 1.
That should stop them from departing

also had no clue I could actually do train station setting as well

🙂 There is a ton of customisability with trains. Most isn't super obvious because it confuses new people

wind kiln
#

and now name is a diffrent color of the station, i guess indicating its no longer using default train station?

supple field
#

the blue colour indicates it's full and can't accept new trains (unless they're already on the way)

I came from years of Satisfactory, and trains there was pain too. but this is next level train management compared to that Haha!

#

the train right behind it is the one waiting to get in

#

and holding the line up

supple field
#

the current unloading one, just tell it to go to the next station (Loading) and it should resolve

wind kiln
#

but once the main departs and gets refilled it should stick in the loading station until its ready

#

how do I tell it to skip what its doing and go to next step?

supple field
#

you should have a little play button next to the loading station in the schedule

wind kiln
#

also thanks, really appreicate the help

#

i see it

#

That did it!!!! train took off, refilled at the mining location and now just sitting in the station waiting

#

🙂 Awesome!

Thanks again this was awesome,

#

going to come in handy for sure

Have you set the two trains to a group? and added refueling interrupts?

wind kiln
#

have not used "groups" yet, but have made a refuling station they go to after unloading

#

need to rework tracks a bit there, but it is working and such, but as you can see some of the trains need to do a small loop to get back around to it

supple field
#

That means they go to the refueling station every cycle, instead of just when needed

wind kiln
#

Right, but you are saying there is a way to have them stop ONLY when they need more fuel ?

supple field
#

When they depart a station, they'll assess the Interupts, action it, and then continue on

#

The Group at the top means you can have a "Coal" group.
All trains in the same group have the same schedule and interupts. So if you want to add a third train, it's much easier

wind kiln
#

like that?

#

so I should make a group for my 2 coal trains currently?

supple field
#

yeah perfect. Then remove the current fueling stop

#

thats fine how it is. You can add the first train to the group, then find the other one, add it to the same group, and it's schedule should adjust

wind kiln
#

Perfect, and when i added the 2nd train to the group it updated the schedule

#

amazing!!!

supple field
#

and for peace of mind, the train at the loading stop, take out some fuel so it's less than 50 and see if it triggers

wind kiln
#

so logic is "Depart Station = Assess Interrupt Condition for TRUE/FALSE"

supple field
#

yeah, I need to properly dig in to specifics, but when working through the schedule, any interupt can slip inbetween the main schedule stops

wind kiln
#

Again, thanks a ton for this help

#

this was massive!!!
