Honestly, it's the core of my gripes about the UK's commercial culture of price gouging and ripping off everyone, at every opportunity.
Don't get me started on the "Yoghurt As a Main" drama from a few months back. Dark times are coming.

This is true. But it's my feeling that a lot of Brits enjoy small things. Little notions that bring them an extra little happiness. It's the Blitz Spirit thing our grandparents are always talking about (despite not living through the Blitz).
We needed the grocery store Meal Deal. It was holding us together.
