#SPOILERS - 86's prerelease Q&A thread
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
All questions refer to pre-space Nauvis. If something changes later on I don't want to know.
- What are the recipe changes to Nauvis items? Rocket parts, power poles, satellites etc etc.
- What's the recipe for space platform items? From the starter pack to crushers, thrusters, fuel, platform extensions, space science in space, everything before your first interplanetary journey.
- Any details about the space platform building mechanics that weren't clear in the fff?
- What's the weight for the most common items you would want to send? What's the weight limit for a single rocket?
tech tree pics pls
What’s a bacchus
What would you say is the biggest thing that hasn't been revealed to us already?
tell us your favorite things about SA
Can you tell I had that ready to go
"give early access code"
Can i see a screen shot of after beating the game
Does Fulgora has enemies?
- most things are the same. Satellites don't exist anymore in Space Age. The only way to get
is crafting it on a platform
Ah, that's different from fff. No more early science tech at low cost then? Alright
- lemme boot up the game and check.
- You can get very creative with your platform design as long as there's no completely closed holes. You can use
to bridge gaps if you want to get very creative.
cannot bridge gaps though, they need to go through actual platform.
What science pack is mech armor?
Oh, if you’re booting up the game, can you send screenshots of all the planet’s factoriopedia pages? So we can see all the exclusive recipes
Most regular items fill a rocket with 1 stack (50 or 100 items)
Every item has as part of its tooltip the stack limit and the rocket cargo limit
I haven't beaten the game yet so sorry no
Whats the Shattered Planet?
Alright, I'll try to avoid the channel from now on. Ping me for the space platform recipes please?
Yeah no more very early
lol, you have to shoot up like 10-20 rockets to get your first platform set up before getting any.
What happens after you launch just a single rocket?
Your first rocket will be sending the "space platform starter pack" into space. But you can't do anything with your space platform until you send up more materials to do with it.
Nice
Space Platform Foundation:

Cargo Bay:

Asteroid Collector:

Asteroid Crusher:

Space Platform Thruster:

10 Electric Engine Unit 5
Space Platform starter Pack:

20 Space Platform Foundation 60
That's so cheap
Would you say that‘s cheap
It's a pretty sizable investment for how early you unlock them. Lots of
and electric engine units and those are annoying to set up. You can unlock space platforms right after finishing
Is there a space map?
Yes.
honestly i would say that those aren't too bad early on
Could you show a screenshot of it?
They're not too bad but especially the space platform foundation is EXPENSIVE bc that's the cost of adding ONE TILE to your space platform
ahh, yeah, i can see how that adds up. Though i guess at least it doesn't take LDS like in SE
One sec lemme transfer it from Steam Deck
Oh I did not think that. I stand corrected.
Oh and something else i was wondering, can the agriculture tower do stuff outside of Gleba? Like Nauvis trees
Alright, bye forever now. Thank you!
Are you able to play space age at all times or was it only possible at the lan Party
sprry its zoomed out so much
I was not able to go to the lan party (tho I was invited). I got access afterwards.
soulburn said fulgora @granite snow
👍
What‘s the best planet to go first
All Nauvis science packs +
+ Fulgora pack
Neato, thanks
so is power armor 2 unlockable before leaving nauvis?
Also, could you do this please? If it’s not a problem
Actually, do you even have their pages of you didn’t research them?
My favorite little thing is how early Mining Prod and Steel Production Prod techs are. I haven't even left Nauvis and I'm at 60% mining prod and 40% steel prod.
You can look up anything in factoripedia at any time
That’s great for me
/ where did you go first
In my current game I'm ramping up for my first trip to Fulgora
Pretty expensive. Starts in the thousands of packs.

What stuff do you after you reached Shattered planet
Like what do you do with prometheum
Not much has been revealed about Shattered Planet even to beta testers but it's the post-game
Oh lol okay
Space Age equivalent of grinding out rockets per minute for
btw can you tell me what the message box says after you reached the edge (i had a fun lil argument with someone before lol)
Thanks!!!
Pls let me know if I missed anything or if I duped, Steam gets weird when I'm uploading multiples at once
Oh I missed Gleba
How do space platform schedules work?
Lots of fun stuff in that list. Like ||Fish breeding||
Very similar if not exactly the same as Train schedules
Unlike trains though it's beneficial to park space platforms above planets permamently if you want.
(depending on what the platform does)
I KNEW it
Oil product recipes are all bioflux+lower tier thing
Well, most, I guess
Also, spoilage burning is in the biochamber now?
I’m surprised
I thought it was neat to put it in the furnace
Oh well
What are the recipes of bioflux and carbon fiber? Are they jelly+mash and carbon+mash?
Oh hey, new landfill icon looks sick
@simple parcel can you tell me Everything bout quantum stuff
From the looks of things, there isn’t much to it
I sort of agree…
Edit: Nvm not after that second message
Bioflux is 15 yumako Mash and 12 Jelly
Carbon Fiber is 1 carbon and 10 yumako mash
Oh, thanks for also giving the ratios
that second was a joke lol
do enemy bases expand in gleba?
I haven't been to gleba so I don't knoww
I live about an hour away. If I drive to your house with a flash drive, can I copy your installation of the DLC?
All cool man, you can just email me the full installation folder. No biggie.
Real question: How's performance on lower end systems preserved? Normal factorio runs really well on bad systems up until basically endgame
I assume there's just a decent amount of "other shit going on" but but its mostly normal expansion you would do on Nauvis
I haven't noticed any appreciable difference in performance. There's more going on but the devs have optimized a lot of the codebase so it mostly evens out I guess
And I'm mostly playing on not super high end stuff
Cool, that's what I was hoping. How bad is it going to be to pull off 100% completion?
Does 2.0 have more achievements or does SA have all of the new cheevos
I haven't tried Vanilla 2.0 but SA has TONS of new achievements
You're gonna need to play in very specific ways to get 100% achievements in one save
Is it even possible?
I'd assume so? But some achievements would require very specific play styles
So car and tank got equipment grids and have remote support. Are they just kinda "direct control" remote drivable, or does the RTS remote for them?
Only tank does, I believ
And yes it’s only direct manual driving
And they also lack built in radars
Nope
But remote handfeeding is possible
You can remotely place ghost items into any slot
And construction bots will deliver them
nifty
Yeah you can remotely control the tanks
But not just command them like spidertrons
Notably, equipment grid means a tank can heal itself
I have not gotten that far yet
Atari prepared me for this day
Is there a planned timezone for the release? I'm going on a road trip on Friday, so I'm really hoping I can download it before I leave and ride shotgun while I use a shotgun
Oh, also, what new map generation settings are there? And how do they effect otherworldly enemies?
"around lunch time" Prague time
Each planet has separate ore/resource gen sliders. There's no planet specific sliders for enemies though
M, ok. Does the funny worm get impacted by the terrain gen? Im honestly not up to date
They, uh, demolish everything
are there any new 2.0 QoL features we haven't seen in FFF's yet?
Remote tanks count, I guess?
Yes. Spiders too
Pipe placement is also much better
Underground pipe placement I mean
Is there any new QoL to prevent you accidentaly unequipping armor i.e. spilling your inventory on the ground?
Yeah the little "undergrounds turn green at max length" is great
Not that
Dragging underground pipes are now better at choosing where to place the underground’s
I think the underground visualization is kinda useless compared to the modded version
The modded version works with ghosts but the in game one doesn’t
Ah yeah that too
If it’s not a problem, could I see the recipes of the rocket turret and tesla ammo?
Oh, thanks a lot!
Is tank equipment grid increased by quality? Both dimensions by one or just one dimension?
@stoic nexus yes and both
AFAIK all items with an equipment grid increase on both axes
Thanks! That means increased quality is waaaay better for tank, similarly to all armors with grid.
Yup if you can somehow get a
power armor early that's a huge boon
What’s the agri tower recipe like? It has to be something super simple, right?
I just woke up, gimme a few mins
No worries
10 steel, 3 green circuits, 20 spoilage, 1 landfill
Also, whenever it’s convenient, could you please check the factoriopedia for something? I want to know what benefits reactors/heaters, heat exchangers/boilers and turbines/steam engines gain from quality
Yes, thank you
Boiler/heat exchanger: HP, water/fuel consumption rate, steam creation rate (all goes up)
Steam engine/turbine: HP, steam consumption, electricity generation rate
Fission/fusion reactor: higher fuel consumption rate and higher energy/heat output rate
In all cases you don't get more energy out per fuel but they burn through the fuel faster, yeah
I suppose if all three steps had an energy increase, that might get a little crazy
I mean, just an uncommon setup would be more than twice as powerful
I guess I should have seen this coming
Most of your travel (maybe with the exception of Fulgora orbit) can be powered with

Big platforms or platforms going to Aquilo will definitely need
worth noting too that pollution increases proportionally for the boiler
@mint coral
Does anyone know if the biolabs have their science depletion modifyer improved with higher quality like the large miners do?
it does not get better with quality, though you can mod that in easilly
since theres a prototype property for that
(one of the few places where a prototype has the ability to control how quality affects it)
random question, but if someone is remote controlling a tank, do you know if it shows the name of the person controlling it?
I don't know and I don't think I have a way to test that
Would you say you'll get the most bang from your buck from doing a 2.0 playthrough first to get accustomed, a Space Age playthrough, go into the editor and get familiar with the new stuff, or play another scenario?
IMO just head straight into a new Space Age save. Most of the Nauvis stuff is the same as 2.0 anyway.
are there other new scenarios?
do you think personally whole of factorio and space age is worth 64€
Oh also how is PVP preserved with space age?
Yes
should i scam my gradnma out of 20€ so i can afford space age /j
No, normal factorio is still good. But do get it
I don't think so but I didn't check that closely.
👍
