What is the best oil refining recepie when i don't know what im going to use the most oil on. I can crack lots so there is no issue using heavy oil recepie but is it any efficiency difference between the 2 recepies?

Advanced gives you about 2x as much Petroleum as Basic if you crack it all down, and Petroleum is what you need most of, and you need Light Oil anyways.
So there's basically no reason to use Basic Oil after unlocking Advanced Oil

There's also Coal liquifaction, which is useful if you don't have much crude oil.

If you're playing space exploration mod then it is more complex iirc there is math done for each stage for all 3 recipies on what is best
