#how to f#cking kill the bugs
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
like i wiped out all of the bases these f#ckers have all around my base within prolly like 200 blocks
but they keep appearing
its only day 20
i survived till day 40 and it wasnt this bad
Try building a wall
2-tile thick stone wall + 2 rows of thinner walls making a small maze (meaning bugs will take longer to reach the main wall, giving turrets extra time to target them
then just cover everthing with gun turrets along the lenght of the wall and make sure they have some sort of automatised resupplying
reseatching shooting speed and damage is also important
KEep in mind destroying spawners when it may not be necessary causes extra pollution and increases the evolution meter; which further speeds up the rate at which bugs expand their territory, as well as eventually spawns stronger bugs
huh I didn’t know that
thanks for the tip
+faq biter expansion
Biters walk from an existing nest to a new location, creating new nests on a timer. This can result in nests inside your pollution cloud but not visible on your current view of the map, as well as attacks on walls or other obstacles even without pollution-driven attacks. The Rail World preset disables the expansion mechanic by default.

yep
Kill the nests inside the pollution cloud (the giant red blob, not shown in screenshot)
trees and other things like grassy terrain can absord pollution over time, but they dont completely negate it
In a desert start you probably will see a bitter in 5 minutes
In a forest start it could be 5 hours
A little exaggeration but trees and grass absorb a lot more pollution that sand
remember it's totally legit to play without bugs while you get familiar with the game
you can disable them in mapgen settings or with the console (might disable achievements)
nah thats the pussy route bro
I just found like a map with good oil and im just making a bunch of flamethrowers now
works like a charm
and then ill prolly just make a bunch of robots that auto repair the walls
+faq evolution || also of relevance. higher evo will lead to more frequent (over time) expansion events
