#can someone help me with a Sciene district problem?

So I have made this mess of a science district next to my furnace array in my first playtrough. Ive just unlocked green science and instantly got a problem. So at the start I connected a few of those underground belts to be able to deliver stuff from the furnace array to deliver ressource for my auto crafter and then science to my lab. I somehow was able to make this mess and run into the problem of green science production. Idk how to sort or order the autocrafters for better production / how to make a good layout for production as this is my first time (Tutorial excluded) playing ever. If more data / description is required please tell me to do so.

I would start by getting rid of those chests of iron and copper plates, taht would free up most of your plate production for use in science

Other than that: find some free space and start working backwards from science assemblers until you get to plates, and feed them in from your furnaces, or build more furnaces if necessary

Also for future planning: don’t build over your ore patches, you’ll need to completely cover them in miners later.

Let's put it like this: you are not gonna be using 10 chests of iron and copper plates for hand crafting anytime soon

For anything that you need more of a few of, you probably should

Making a buffer for some hand crafting is fine though, as long as it's a sensible one. Something like 5 stacks of plates is all you'll ever pick up at once, not 10 chests.

So build a buffer of 5 stacks, it will refill while you are gone anyway

hmm idk I went to refuel like 6 times after the array was done and the array had me refilling my inv like idk a few times too

You won't use 10 chests worth of materials at once while handcrafting

#

And if you do need that many items, you should look at automating them instead of wating for hand crafting anyway

best thing to auto craft is belts and inserters - they needed in huge amounts, will be used in science eventually, and decently easy to produce

rest is somewhat ok to craft by hand for quite some time
