I have 2 different inputs of belts, I need to divide it into 3 half belts (half of each material)

#

I need it for this furnace stack
2 materials are coal and wood (for coke)

#

The red belts are 0.6 full, so just bringing multiple belts won't work

Do you know the trick of having two splitters face each other to sideload?

warm oyster

It is SE+K2 modpack

plain rain
#

You can do the same but with four splitters, two on each side

warm oyster
#

hmm

#

Let's see if it will be compact enogh

#

I do this regularly for modded stuff :p

Looks reasonable. The top belt might have slightly higher priority than the bottom one due to the mainfold layout but as long as there is sufficient input this will not be an issue.

So on paper it takes 3 iron plate belts 0.6 coal and 0.6 wood and output is 1 steel belt (all in red belts)

#
Inputs: wood
        coal
  iron plate
           -
  iron plate
           -

This, but with another splitter on each side to get a third belt

warm oyster
#

wait

plain rain
#

You could do it a couple of ways

#

Doesn’t super matter

#

The one thing to be careful of here is making sure you’re not limiting throughput by sideloading inappropriately onto undergrounds

warm oyster
#

I reall am confused where to put another splitter

#

....

Two options:

The issue now is that you’re sideloading to two different underground hoods facing the same way, so those belts won’t be a full half belt. I’m trying to find where I did this before to show it…

warm oyster
#

I mean, it always won't be a full belt

#

Cause we have 2 full inputs

#

and 3 output belts

plain rain
#

but it'll be 1/4 instead of 1/3

warm oyster
#

oh

#

hmmm

#

I also need it to be kinda compact

#

for this mess

#

3 full belts of iron plates

#

the left part

plain rain
#

I have an example for how I do it with more belts:
The trick if you have an odd number is that you need to sideload to a normal belt somewhere in the middle, not an underground

#

then you have equal number of forward and backward underground hoods

#

I know I've taken a screenshot with 2->3 somewhere but I can't find it

warm oyster
#

hmm

plain rain
#

swap the order of the splitters on one side

#

I think there needs to be one more space in the middle

#

aha, got it

warm oyster
#

What is the difference of these two (?)

See how you’re sideloading onto two hoods here, but they’re both facing up?

#

You have to do the math per-lane when you sideload onto hoods

warm oyster
#

oh... yeah makes sense damn

plain rain
#

Since the “bottom” lane from both sides is being split over both of those, they’ll only ever get 1/4 the belt instead of the full 1/3 they need

warm oyster
#

I got it, thank you!

plain rain
#

np!

warm oyster
#

Tho I feel like here manifold works better?

#

Since they will use max of 0.6 of a full belt

plain rain
#

I don’t know where the resources are flowing from to be able to tell

warm oyster
#

one sec

plain rain
#

But the idea is that you’d place my recommendation at the TOP, then carry all three belts down from there

#

I’m assuming the stuff to the left doesn’t matter

And how to manage stations and "waiting" priority

#

I know I can make a logic of "if these chests are missing 1 train worth of resources > then request 1 train" BUT i don't know how to make the waiting platform or smth
