#Should I make a mall in a city block?

Just make a mall
how should i get the intermediats into there? should i just change out the steal chests for loading my trains into passive providers to feed them?
i think the passive provider route would be way easier
having separate blocks for different things is okay, but I think you'd be better off having one block where the mall goes
as far as intermediates, if you don't have space you can use another block next to the mall block where the unloading happens
If they're close enough that's fine, but for like gears you'll definitely want a lot of iron (also lots of circuits)
There aren't many intermediates in vanilla you should be fine
they are all pretty close (like within 2 blocks) and i got good robot speed so it should be fast enough
oh not within 2 blocks within 4
i thought my city base was alot smalelr
Malls are a bit of an odd one because different scales require radically different approaches. A single assembler making belts or rails is fine early game, but if you're megabasing you may want those items in lots of 20 or even 50 thousand. It takes a while to get that with a single assembler, so you probably want several.
In super general terms, anything you expect to need a lot of should have materials supplied with belts. Belts, inserters, beacons, rails, assemblers, furnaces, and the like? Belt the materials for them or you'll need tens of thousands of bots. Low throughput things like pumpjacks, refineries, chem plants, or other specialized buildings? Feel free to use logistics bots.
If you're actually planning on megabasing. find some ore patches and setup dedicated module 3 production there. Worry about the logistics of getting the modules around later. Just get them running. You're gonna need them. You'll never be sad to setup a brand new smelter array and realize that you have 10 storage chests full of t3 modules when you go to grab them.
