They're my best friend
To be honest, I just hope the expansion adds more tools and mechanics for the modding api to play with. Maybe even to allow support for cpp files to alleviate the need for scripting.
I'd also love to see more recipes using steam as an ingredient
I doubt that tbh... If anything kovarex would like to add a custom language iirc

Actually, I was thinking about modding in a mechanic for alternate recipes, like satisfactory. A trade off of complexity for efficiency etc etc.

Let’s make up a recipe, say, “iron wire.”
2 iron plates -> 3 wire
It’s a less efficient way to create wire, but instead uses iron plates.

it'll be interesting to see to what degree its content post-rocket launch, vs additional content along the way
considering the fact they mentioned it will have as much content as the base game, and a previous iteration of the expansion (see bottom of FFF 370) took "12 people spent 5 full days racing to finish the game before the end of the week",
this expansion seems to be a real chonker
PS- a cool expansion idea is having permanent combat-centric bots that can be deployed from your bot network
think permanent defender/destroyer like capsules that deploy whenever an enemy is in range
armor equipment to auto-deploy combat robots from players and spidertron, too (mods can do it already, technically, but...)

its cool but i would hope it to be very late-game
or very costly
they could fly substantially faster, but consume more energy so its a bigger hit when they recharge
and if they don't use lasers or energy weapons, perhaps some mechanic that requires them to periodically reload somewhere
thats about the extent of the details in my head, but yeah, it would be cool lol
I really enjoy Klonans Transport Drones mod. imho I feel like one of the reasons in vanilla Factorio I drift away from belts to bots so fast is because there is some form of transport missing between belts and trains and I feel like the Transport Drones mod fills that gap really well for me.
I'm not quite sure that Transport Drones itself is a good fit for the base game but I really think it'd be awesome to see something in the base game that covers the option between belts and trains better other than Drones.

the Space Exploration mod already has that in a way
would like to see the space exploration mod made an official expansion as well as add in space hazards and other expanded content (maybe show what happened to your ship or a part of how your ship ended up crashing on the starter planet)
corse would like to see all 3 expansion proposals become fully fledged expansions with the ocean one adding ships and subnautic stuff (maybe poluted water aquatic biters and amphibous biters and stuff), and warefare adding more weapons and manners to kill stuff as well as hazards maybe even some manner of opposing factory that you would have to go to war with maybe even allowing for a sort of pvp deal where people are all on the same map but spawn in different location and dont share map info (though I dont know how you would get them to attack eachother since cooperating is better in factorio)
Ok so they need to add a new tier power power armor and mk3 power armor items that require TONS of power but the mk3 suit can use electric pole power

They most likely are done with the features, but I agree I wish there were some stuff like ruins to collect high tier items to help us
Unless you are going for a megabase the save file usually stays 100 mb at most

Great, but unhelpful since I can't find any that have. It's a feature that would fit well in vanilla anyway since you can copy/paste between assemblers and requester chests

i was NOT excited to hear about quality in the friday facts #375, but after reading it, they implemented this incredibly well. also excited to see the recycler!!!

The quality change reminds me of the Hero Turrets mod, using it was actually pretty interesting.
I hope there will be an option to use quality mechanics in the base game, obviously given that the dlc has been bought.
I also wonder if there will be research to make manually crafting have quality benefits. A master craftsman can make a product better than any machine; just slower.
