Pinup

[hot veldt]

A light vintage pin-up theme for Omarchy [ https://github.com/OldJobobo/omarchy-pinup-theme ], built around warm paper, dark ink, sailor blue focus states, burgundy accents, and soft rounded surfaces. It keeps the desktop bright and readable while giving the shell, terminals, editor themes, and notification surfaces the same printed-poster character.

Install

Use the Omarchy theme installer:

Includes support for Omarchy 3.8 and Omarchy 4.x alpha

then you can use pinup-mode toggle or pinup-toggle or pinup-mode dark or pinup-mode light to change it. unfortunately will always default to light mode when loaded. hmm actually maybe i can make that set-able

ok did that. now if you want it to use dark mode when you load it use pinup-mode default dark that will switch it and set it as default so it always loads as dark

if you try out the dark mode switch let me know. their might be bugs still but seems to work for me just not sure on the omarchy 3.8 side

it just swaps the theme files for dark mode and reloads the theme

I’m not currently at desktop, so I will have to do it later. I’m guess I do it on terminal?

you can skip the install and just run the switch from the theme directly
~/.config/omarchy/current/theme/bin/pinup-mode default dark

only issue i realized with change the default is that it will make the git update fail unless you switch back to default light mode first 🙁

hmm maybe i just make a seperate theme, really wanted to try doing it in one theme.

maybe be eaier in omarchy 4.0 i think i saw something being worked on for having light and dark modes of themes.

actually I have an idea.

I cam up with a better solution that does not mess up the updating and does not alter configs (except to make sure that ~/.local/bin is in the $PATH which is a totally normal and safe thing to do.)
