what if you change the whole 3440..240.0 to preferred

#

run hyprctl reload when changing monitor config, sometimes that is necessary

still says 59.

hyprctl monitors | grep -e Monitor -e Modes

I know, but I should. Its the correct model of the 240Hz QD-OLED AW3425DW. Confirmed in settings, on the monitor itself, and with the box.

HDMI or Display port?

umbral vector
#

HDMI 2.1

#

Do I need to use the display port?

surreal oasis
#

Not sure. But, maybe there is a HDMI version setting on your monitor (Try downgrade it)

#

DP might fix it too, if you can try that

umbral vector
#

I will try DP, I can't find any HDMI versions in the settings. I always thought HDMI was supposed to be superior to DP so I didn't bother iwth it right way (only just got this monitor today, about 15 minutes ago)

#

So DP does work! Not sure why HDMI was having issues.

#

Now running at the silky smooth 240hz.

drowsy knot
torn kiln
#

might be connected to graphics driver, amd potentially limited on hdmi
