#Omarchy does not Boot after install from iso
95 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Removing the quiet splash parameter leads to the error message
bios menu (f2 at boot)
super boot off
tpm off
restart
I believe i forgot to turn off tpm
I can't find anything other than clear tpm in the bios though
The advanced mode of the bios appears to be locked
it boots when adding modprobe.blacklist=nvidia_drm to the parameters in limine
Is this a tpm issue?
I did a system update after booting it, but the issue still persists
the issue shows "Problem loading X.509 certificate -22"
try ctrl+alt+f3, not ctrl+alt+f2
Secure boot is disabled
in bios, do you have gpu setting available
no
show limine 'e' edit page
add a space and number 1 to the end and then f10
What does this do?
This did not change anything
show error
ok at that screen press ctrl+alt+f3
That does nothing
are there any other operating systems on this machine
so, go in BIOS and clear TPM
Is this first attempt at installation?
Try again
The system is running on integrated graphics
have you tried switch to discrete
I will
try update bios
I will call it here for now since I have some thing to take care of
I appreciate the support
Thanks
Have a great rest of your day
You are having a modprobe issue, most probably driver-related. And then two processes fighting for the same resource (rw semaphore) leading to a hault
Try booting without any usb devices connected
You should be able to press "e" on the limine 3sec wait sequence. Add " nomodeset" at the end of the cmdline. That should avoid loading gpu drivers
Then run: journalctl -b -1 -p 3..4
Which might have the driver in question mentioned
And/or, sync and update everything with pacman.
Oh, you were able to do a full boot. Well, try updating the drivers. Or identifying which ones are the problem
I'd guess it is the two variants of nvidia drivers being uncomfy with each other
The laptop's gpu is not running
I assume this is because of the proprietary control center software which can controll the gpu
I'll have to find a solution for this
Ok, my apologies if I repeated the partial fix. I had read half the chat only. Best of luck!!
All good, and thank you
I believe dual booting windows with the stupid software thing would work
But I can't put It back on the laptop because my usb stick decided to die
What?
the advanced mode is inacessible
Ah, it doesn't have a gpu
Such a mess... How does a piece of software like that brick a machine
Or could you boot into the software?
I am so lost, lol
Out of the box (in windows) the gpu is disabled when it is in energy saving mode or not plugged in
no
It has an iGPU too
yep
I was not thinking about using linux when I bought it otherwide I would have gotten something else
We need some new-ish forum post for this I feel
I believe there are solutions for some laptops where someone wrote a kernel driver, I might try that
DHH mentioned working on a set of newer laptops in the future
For Omarchy's sake! Hopefully it gets swifter soon. Linux always lags a bit in terms of hardware
This is (in my opinion) by no means the fault of linux
The laptop builder probably just chose to ignore linux
If you could just use the iGPU... At least to test things
I can
it boots when adding modprobe.blacklist=nvidia_drm to the parameters in limine
Yes, there is that. Windows also has such market capture. Almost like Apple for their own ecosystem. They absolutely make deals for it
Right
I strongly suggest checking forums
Perplexity AI might help too
It searches like a maniac on coke
That sounds like a good idea
I found this
This combined with tuxedo control center allows me to controll the hardware
what would I be looking for in there
the problem loading x.509 certificate is gone after clearing secure boot
Hi,
Just installed #omarchy on asus zenbook.
I open wifi settings, see my network, but can not choose the network to enter the password.
Not with mouse, not with keyboard.
Please #help.
Thank you!
Did you navigate to the network using tab?
Thank you, this resolved the issue! 🫡
I will simply use modprobe.blacklist=nvidia_drm until i find a fix
