When I was around to fully install omarchy on laptop. Then a problem came like it was Asking for a password which I was typing correctly but the input was not showing up and even not main keys nor numpad keys nor in key working only the enter button works. And keyboard is working properly. And it says incorrect password after I spam enter cuz I don't know what to do now.i am new to I linux so anyone else help me. Should I try to reinstall. Or something else.

raven bronze
errant lion

so someone can look over your shoulder and count the password characters

raven bronze

raven bronze
#

I write the correct one

#

Still its stuck

#

Or whatever

#

I will reboot my laptop for now

#

It sucks tbh for like 8 hrs straight I have been tryna installation lynux

somber eagle
#

I'd like to see those errors in full, but it says at the beginning "timed out reading password"

#

Maybe it was left for a good while without entering one?

#

And when it needed to have one there was something else again, related to it

raven bronze
#

Their

#

Now I rebooted it

#

And I am stuck on another problem T_T

#

T hell

If you are stuck, you can turn it off by long-pressing the ON button on the computer. Just to reboot in emergencies I mean

somber eagle
#

Well, if you share deets we might be able to see what is going on. Reinstalling would not do harm though

raven bronze
#

But when i did

#

It won't take my username

#

A ? Sign comes instead of it

#

T_T

somber eagle
#

Could it be that you have an inalambric keyboard? And it runs out of battery

#

I don't know about the ? sign

somber eagle
#

If you are stuck for a long time already, try reinstalling, from the BIOS again

raven bronze
#

Reinstall in progress

raven bronze

somber eagle
#

If it happens try taking full pictures of the screen, so we see what scripts failed and such

#

There should be nothing personal other than the username

somber eagle
#

What made you look into Linux?

#

Just curious myself

raven bronze
somber eagle
#

Nice, that could be a sign to learn onwards

raven bronze

#

Only that fixing an OS is frustrating sometimes

#

More than anything else

raven bronze
#

Is this ok?

somber eagle
#

I have seen it before, the lines wrap wrong for some reason

#

I believe it is harmless but am not entirely sure

raven bronze
#

Bro the hell

#

Now it says

#

Files nor found T_T

#

And now a new problem came

#

Aah i give up

errant lion

somber eagle
#

Ok, that could be many things. Are you installing to a drive that has enough space? Probably yes.
The problem is that mkinitcpio cannot load the kernel

errant lion
#

just reboot (without the usb)

somber eagle
#

It seems like a driver issue for nvidia?

#

I wouldn't reboot yet

#

I'd try to fix it, then rebuild, then reboot

#

Try to see if a terminal comes up with Ctrl + Alt + F2

raven bronze
#

Not it won't even show up

#

Lemme try again i guess

somber eagle
#

If you can run this: mkinitcpio -P on that black terminal

#

Some error might come about a "hook"

raven bronze
#

Bro a loop started

#

Fine fallback

#

Efi*

errant lion
#

someone said try installation offline, makes sense

raven bronze
#

Ok lemme retry

somber eagle
#

It could be it downloaded a new kernel

#
  • Don't reboot after mkinitcpio errors
  • Ctrl+Alt+F2 for terminal
  • Re-run mkinitcpio + install programs or remove hooks that are not needed in /etc/mkinitcpio.conf if you see errors (again)
raven bronze
#

I will retry after sometime

#

I guess in feb

somber eagle
#

There's no problem
