Hello good people… just joined

wanted to say fantastic work behind Omarchy ( I am a bit of a noob myself but I sure love the way this distro looks and how sleek it feels )

that being said I tried installing on a second sort of PC (a z5-x8350 Atom CPU with 2GB RAM) on a USB SSD and got an error

now since we are talking Arch here I don't expect everything to be easy and straightforward

that being said I tried the GPT way of removing the DB and restarting the installer but got the same result

"rm -f /var/lib/pacman/sync/.db
pacman-key --init && pacman-key --populate archlinux
sed -i '1i Server = https://geo.mirror.pkgbuild.com/$repo/os/$arch' /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist
pacman -Syy
"

methinks maybe this platform (a wyse 3040 thin client) isn't supported

any ideas are welcomed 🙂

Thanks in advance

Hey there, I am right here with ya. I am trying to install Omarchy on my Dell Latitude e7440 and I got the roughly the same error, tried the exact same fix as you did aaaand it still spits out the same error as it did the first time:

utf-8 codec can't decode byte 0xff in position 5: invalid start byte

The rest is the same. I get the same offline downloading message and then it dies. I also tried different versions of the iso and none of them worked. I spent 2 hrs on this and no progress.

I haven't made any progress ... but also been busy with other things

could be the CPU is too old or lacking some extensions .

I'll update you if I make some progress
