#**Help needed – Terminal completely broken after rollback**

Hey everyone,

I messed up my system and could use some help 😅

What happened:

  • I was on Omarchy version 3.1.4 and everything worked perfectly.
  • I updated to the latest version → broke literally all my configs and keybinds.
  • rolled back to my previous snapshot (3.1.4) using limine-snapper-restore.
  • rollback seemed successful, but now the Super + Enter keybind to open the terminal (xdg-terminal-exec) is completely dead. Nothing happens.
  • I also can’t launch most apps the usual way anymore (rofi/dmenu, etc.).
  • The only terminal I can open is Ghostty using Super + Space

So basically I’m stuck: I can open Ghostty, but I can’t install or fix anything properly because the default terminal launcher is broken.

If anyone knows how to fix/restore the default xdg-terminal-exec or reset the Hyprland terminal keybind without being able to open the normal terminal, I’d be eternally grateful 🙏

When I press Super + Space or try any other keybind, these weird floating notifications keep popping up with random garbage like this:

Maybe try to restart or check if your omarchy update was complete

I'm literally facing the same issue. I also Updated, and things broke.

You can use the Alacritty terminal with Super + Enter.

This one works for me, I currently use it to load Brave, VSCode and other apps from the terminal.

I do also get the Notifications, you can turn them Off / On using Super + Shift + Comma.

This is all if Super does work for you. More Shortcuts are shown when you press Super + K.

Hey, I've fixed the Omarchy Menu issue by installing elephant walker on the Terminal with
yay -Sy elephant walker .

It looks like the update caused conflicts, but doing this resolved them.

If you happen to be using mise then you need to deactivate it prior to updating.

I ran into all of these exact issues when mise was active.

i ended up manually fixing each one before i found out this was the core issue.
